I was reading some comments on Twitter today that got me thinking. What does this team, our Miami Dolphins need to take that leap to become a Superbowl caliber team. I understand that it takes a lot of talent combined with a ton of luck to get to the Superbowl but at the beginning of the season there are those teams that you just know have what it takes to get to the next level (playoffs) and possibly even win a title.
Even those in the know or the so called experts get it wrong to some degree here and there but there are certain traits that a Superbowl team has in each era. I think we can for the most part agree that in this era much of it centers around the QB and the level of play that you get from that position. With an elite QB you always have a shot if all the other things that can go right do go right. Even going back to the days of Marino, especially in his prime, we as fans could go in to each new season with the sense that we had a shot. A real, legit shot.
On the other side of the ball the ability to get pressure on said QB's might be close to if not equally important. Once you get to the playoffs all the QB's are good, very good if not elite. These are the type of QB's that can of course shred any defense that can not exhibit the ability to mount a consistent pass rush. This of course then leads in to the debate about offensive line play.
I for one place a high value on building a top offensive line but not a debate that I wish to cultivate here. Instead my question is which pieces if any do you believe we need to get to the next level? Is it a QB? Is it OL help? Is it another top pass rusher? How about and upgrade at Safety? All of the above or a combination? Or like some, are you pretty much happy with what we have and think it was all Tony's fault? Let us know in the poll and then tell us why below.

I chose QB+Pass Rusher+OL help.
It all starts with and centers around an elite quarterback. We have to go and get that elite QB first and foremost. That will make us contenders. The rest makes us superbowl bound, Draft Riley Reiff with the 8/9 spot to protect Peyton Manning. Then draft either Tannehill in the second round or Osweiler in the third round to learn behind Manning. If we go with Osweiler in the third (which I am leaning towards since he has the strongest arm in the draft, but is very raw so could use a few years behind Manning) then sign a sick TE in the second. Fleener if he’s available when we pick. Sign Robert Mathis as our pass rusher.

QB, Safety, Pass rush
People, tell me you didnt watch the superbowl and think you yourself, if we have a guy like, oh lets say, Peyton Manning, that the fins couldnt compete with both of those teams. New England’s defense let them down yet again, and without Brady (elite QB) they don’t win 6 games. The Giants back end is poor, and their “vaunted” front 7 is a little overrated in my opinion. To win in this league, it starts under center. If Peyton comes here, the Dolphins are immediately 3-4 wins better, and barring another 0-7 start, a playoff team. This team has the playmakers, O-Line (minus maybe another guard) and defense to make a run at a title in the next couple years.

hey guys, I personally think we just need a few pieces to e a super bowl team
Unfortunately, the pieces we need are the hardest to find. First and foremost, we need a franchise qb. Whether that is Moore, Flynn, RGIII, tannehill, foles or osweiler, I am not going to debate, but we need someone. Next, w need a pass rusher. Dansby Burnett and misi will be the LBs in the 4-3, while Starks and odrick will be great in the middle, but we need someone across from wake at DE. I really think we should trade down for Whitney mercilus. We need a playmaking safety, but reshad and clemons should be able to hold don the fort till next year, when we can get ray ray Armstrong. We need a playmaking TE, and I believe we should get coby fleener in the 2nd to fill that role. A smaller need is a good nickel CB, for which we should draft jayron hosley in the 2nd with the pick we get by trading down. We don’t need oline starters, just depth, as I believe Jerry will be a great RG and murtha will be more than adequate at RT.

I don't like foles of cousins, but tannehill would be an ok pickup.
Osweiler, with the right coaching, can be elite though. He had great arm strength, a compact release, good mobility for his size and will be tough to bring down. I’m really liking osweiler if we get Peyton.

The think that has impressed me with him in what I have seen on youtube
Is how he deals with pressure and doesn’t chuck it away when he hears footsteps. He waits for the last possible second. Unlike MM who had trouble not getting it away occasionally last year.
Also his mobility for a guy his size is impressive.

I’d rather not bother with a 2nd tier drafted QB or high priced free agent.. If we aren’t going big this year for Griffin, upgrade the other areas and add some elite talent, acquire tradeable assets and go for a top level guy next season. Moore is a good enough stopgap for a year
