SB Nation has updated their 2012 NFL Mock Draft once again, and just like last update, there is a projected trade near the top of the draft, as teams look to land Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III. However, the Washington Redskins are no longer templated to make the move up to the second overall spot. Instead, they now have the Seattle Seahawks jumping up to the third overall position, trading with the Minnesota Vikings to get the Baylor Bears quarterback.

"This is not necessarily a prediction; I'm just exploring the possibility. With Washington and Miami finding solutions elsewhere, and Cleveland waffling on trading their picks, the next best fit for RGIII would be the Seahawks. Minnesota would be more than willing to trade down. Seattle is a good landing spot for Griffin with a pretty good roster to make the transition easier for a rookie quarterback."

Star-divide

As for the Miami Dolphins pick, the template continues to point toward an offensive lineman being taken in the first round, which would be the fourth time in the last nine years the team took an offensive lineman with their first round pick. SB Nation has Miami selecting Riley Reiff from the Iowa Hawkeyes with the eigth overall pick.

"Since sane new ownership isn't available in the draft (Washington probably would have picked that first anyway), the Dolphins pick up a stellar right tackle. Just as important, he can work in relief of Jake Long who's been battling injuries and entering the last year of his contract."

Riley Reiff should be gone way before our pick

He’s the most complete left tackle in this draft, and Kalil’s run-blocking prowess isn’t much to write home about. I’ll laugh if Reiff somehow goes before Kalil.

Now, Jonathan Martin would be a great fit for us. However, I can’t sign off on a first-round lineman this year. Cannot … do … it.

your comment confused me
I'm not as high on Martin as the others.

He’s a good prospect, but I don’t know how effective he’ll be with the run. He’s just not an overpowering OT I’d like at RT.

He's the best run blocker of the Kalil/Reiff/Martin trio

But I don’t think he has the natural footwork to dominate on the left side. Martin is more suited to the right side, imo.

Don't know about y'all but RG3 would be my priority #1.
Here is my 7 round mock...

1st round- Melvin Ingram(OLB/DE- South Carolina)
2nd round-(trade our 2nd round pick and 4th round pick to jump in front of Washington) and pick Ryan Tannehill(QB- Texas A&M)
3rd round- Tommy Streeter(WR- Miami)..ooh .. he looks past the TE and goes with a CANE that came out too early with lots of upside and natural talent.
5th round- Michael Egnew- prototypical TE to fill the 3rd TE spot(Clay is our pass catching TE already… we just need to get him the ball more)
6th round- Jerrell Young(FS- South Florida) late rounds are the time to draft players from Florida teams.. most are very talented, but raw.
7th round- Chase Ford(TE-Miami) Miami TEs seem to do pretty well in the NFL and there are worse things we can do with our 7th round pick that pick up a 6’6" 258 lb that will probably run in the 3 round range in the 40 yard dash. Sign both TEs and see which one you would rather keep. Sign the other one to the PS for now unless it is clear they are both going to be better than Fasano quickly.

FA pickups-
Joe Long(T Wayne State) Jake’s little brother in the hopes that he pans out… we know he has good genes and he is not costing picks… plus he gets to play with his brother. He didn’t go to a big school like his brother, but who knows… and it is not like we are wasting picks to get a look at the guy.
Aldarius Johnson, Travis Benjamin & Laron Byrd(WRs-Miami) call the guys from teams in Florida that were not drafted as soon as the draft is over. If they fail, at least they didn’t cost draft picks, and most of them are really physically gifted guys who just weren’t developed.
-Tyler Horn(G-Miami) see above.
-Jacory Harris(QB-Miami) RELAX… he is not going to cost you a pick and if we can turn him into something … AWESOME… if not … nothing lost.. stash him on the PS if you can and see what happens.
-Micanor Regis(DT-Miami) same deal as above..

Cut all these guys if you want… but honestly if we can’t bring in talented guys that are sitting in our own backyard that have all the measurables and were probably mis-coached.. I don’t know…. I am just tired of seeing our team full of guys from Hampton, or South Dakota that can’t run while other teams take our players and turn them into stars. Just saying…

Oops ,,, didn't mean to cross anyone off....

How did I do that even? Oh well… un-cross them off in any case…

ever notice how some of my comments could be other people's posts...

If I just started adding some picks or video here or there…

5 U miami players

I think you might be a little over zealous here. How many teams pick up 5 players from one school? I think there are much better picks out there for us. You also never addressed the RT spot. Should we keep Columbo there? Or is there a Hurricane to fill that spot too?

i am not drafting 5 guys from UM...

i only drafted 2. we brought in undrafted FAs who are from down the road to see if they have anything worth keeping. i have said time and again that we already have the solution to our RT problem on our team. his name is John Jerry. he did pretty well at LT for the last couple of games and he was actually a RT in college before we moved him to RG. just because we bring every single player from UM for a look doesnt mean we need to keep any of them. But we have probably the lowest number of UM players in the whole NFL because we only have 1. we have more players from Utah, BYU, Fresno St, Hawaii, Kansas St, Nebraska , Penn St, Clemson, etc than we have from UM. And Vernon Carey is eventually going to retire… sad… how many UM players were in the playoffs this year?

More then from any other team!
mt point exactly.... and we have a team full of guys from Hampton....

And we wonder why we have no team speed?
