So we have decided, well I have decided based on some suggestions (feel free to email any others you might have), that Monday's will be a movie based theme. With that in mind my question for the night is what is your all time favorite 80's comedy? I realize some of you were not even alive in the 80's but we all for sure have a comedy from that decade that we love. For some of us that is a very long list. What is your favorite movie of the 80's? Mine is in the clip below.
Also starting tomorrow morning we well be starting a new day time open thread. These will run Monday through Friday on non holiday work days. The concept as in the past with day time open/live thread is it's a place for people to come and talk about whatever during the work day. As with the evening live threads these need to be kept as PG as possible.
So tell us, what is your choice of movie (Favorite 80's Comedy)?

LOL No worries. I was thinking "Man this guy is different/off if he thinks Platoon is a comedy".
But yes its a great movie with out a doubt.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
No way was Platoon a fun movie to watch. It was hard for many of us.
But on a lighter note and in keeping with the thread, I’ll suggest any one of Chevy Chase’s ‘Vacation’ flicks.
CanT0o - February 20, 2012
The first and Christmas are both classics. The others are throw away IMO.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
'Christmas' was the best one
Randy Quaid’s redneck brother-in-law was classic

21Dave - February 20, 2012
no he's not lol
Nete88 - February 20, 2012
Heyyyyy-ohhhhhh thanks 21 and give me an example like LBJ vs. ? JerMichael Finleyn Vernon D.
Stats407 - February 20, 2012 via mobile
OK Junior Seau in his prime
21Dave - February 20, 2012
JT in his prime, LT , Daunte was a freak aslo
21Dave - February 20, 2012
compare size for size, take Reggie WHite and Howie Long there speed at there size was sick
21Dave - February 20, 2012
you say that
im not even a heat fan but geez the guy is literally a once in a lifetime athlete. No matter what he had chosen to play
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
Agree, Lebron is a freak and could play Football Im sure he is the complete package, but the NFL is full of complete packages
21Dave - February 20, 2012
well thats true
but so is basketball these days….football has more athletic talent overall at the top imo
i just cant imagine a TE version of LeBron whos been playing it his whole life NOT be at least the current best TE in the leage #fuckrobgronkwoski
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
who the Falcons TE thats been in the league for ever
21Dave - February 20, 2012
gonzo?
he might be the best player still playin (or thebest ever) but LeBron TE version would be better as of right now
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
yeah but take prime for prime, good match, Gonzo is what 35 now
21Dave - February 20, 2012
yeah well like I said Gonzo is the best ever imo
IDk if LeBron wouldve been best ever but he might have been
certainly possible with how much of a freak he is
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
Lebron would be like Andre Johnson or even a young TO, or Megatron
21Dave - February 20, 2012
How's his route running? He for sure can catch a ball and run and is physical but its those
little things that separate an Andre Johnson from all the other guys will all of the measurable’s coming out of college.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
I assume if Lebron played football his whole life it wouldnt be an issue
he just so damn athletic and smart (at least sportswise) that I think he wouldve dominated football as well
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
Possibly.
Plenty of guys that are super athletic and smart suck at one sport but wind up doing well in another.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
thats true
I just think Lebron is in his own class in terms of athletic ability
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
But you never know. Maybe he is one of those few that found the right sport for himself to
dominate. Look at MJ trying to play baseball for example. He did not lack athletic ability but he was for sure below average at baseball.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
yeah i know
im just saying that if i were bettin on it; id go with him killin it in the nfl
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
Yeah I think the transition to the NFL is easier.
People dismiss baseball but the skill of playing, especially hitting is not a skill that many can master at that level no matter how good an athlete or how smart you are. Bo was possibly the only one to do it and be a true STAR in both sports. D. Sanders played both but he was average to below average at the MLB level for much of his time there.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
agreed
people also forget that most nba teams have 14 or 15 guys on the roster and thats it…and usually the last handful hardly ever play
same goes for baseball, alot of people nowadays have no appreciation for how hard baseball players work
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
I have also read the theory thought that there are dozens if not hundreds
of guys out there that play basketball in the inner cities that could play at the NBA level but never get a legit shot.
I imagine the same goes for football. Baseball I doubt as there are so many levels out there and if you want to play you play and if you are good enough someone will find you.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
yeah i agree
baseball is the easiest one to get a shot with
cuz if you have talent and potential someone will spend a 78th round pick on you and send you to single A for 3 years lol
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
Yeah and there are sooooo many levels and leagues and foreign
leagues and the MLB teams are out there searching them all. I doubt the NBA is out there scouting the guys that are say 20 but not smart enough to go to college or whatever and are killing it down at the Y with total NBA level talent.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
no way
especially in todays nba where you need to have at least one all star and at least another fringe all star to be any kind of relevant
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
But if you talk to a lot of NBA guys the swear the talent is
out there. There is just no real system to go out and get it and nourish it. Same thing with the NFL. If your a stud HS player but maybe have shit grades you might be lucky enough to go to Jr. College and play. Then you might be lucky enough to get noticed there but you still have to have the grades and scores to go on to the higher level. Somewhere along the line players that could have very well developed at the next level fall thought he cracks. Its not like its a bunch of QB’s or anything but there are for sure some guys out there that could play at the NFL level if given the chance to develop.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
Thats an interesting thought
The nba could start with expanding the d league and making it a true farm system
i would also support allowing high school kids to sign with or get drafted into farm teams and have to play there for a year (cuz this whole must play a year in college is part of the issue of not getting the talent because baseball has zero issues such as that)
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
Yeah and I still think that the NFL needs a
minor/developmental league and I swear it could be done if you did it right. I am actually going to redo my old post on that subject and repost it at some point here in the off season.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
you should
i think it would be a big hit personally
more football and the nfl can leave the season alone and make more money lol
id root for the dolphins minor league teams and follow them just like I do woth Toros and all the Astros affiliates
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
*with the Toros
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
I know and the arugement is that it would not work
but if minor league baseball works with a full schedule and $3 tickets then they can make it work with the NFL. Plus the NFL does not have to make money off of these teams but they still would find a way.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
no joke
plus PEOPLE WOULD WATCH hellooooo NFL
wouldnt you be all over it?
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
And there are enough die hard fans of each team that we would follow.
Also each minor league NFL team would be made up of players from 2 clubs with extra players with no affiliations to fill out rosters if n.
For example Michael Dell could own 50% of the Austin franchise. The other half could be split between the Cowboys and the Texan as to ownership.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
And they could play mid week. Like Tuesdays and Wednesdays
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
that would also be awesome
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
Yeah some people propose that
they play when the NFL plays but that would never work. If you develop a kid you can not have him play a full season in D league and then a full one in the NFL. They would freaking be dead.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
yeah they could at least approach it NBA style just to get it off the ground
and its not there wouldnt be plenty of places to play
i dont see the issue lol
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
Its easy. Dolphins and Tampa have
a team in Orlando. Jag and Falcons have one in Savannah and so on and so forth. One NFC and one AFC team per minor league team.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
Miami !
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012

wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
Probably not but you never know.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
Thats what they said in the late 70's but.......!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
Lets be honest though ...
What is UM? Is that not a NFL minor league team? Even guys committing this year are talking about giving the Hurricanes 3-4 years… How many of us think it will actually be 4 years? All they need to do really is start paying them… And just let the Dolphins, Bucs and even the Jags(can’t believe I am saying this) first crack at guys from UM, FSU, UF, USF, UCF…. I would be really happy with that arrangement… who needs a draft then…
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
I mean... they don't even really care that UM might not go to a Bowl Game...
The NCAA is a big joke… The reason you go to college is to get drafted in the NFL… If you punish a team that puts more players in the NFL than any other team… what are you really proving? That you have no real power whatsoever… just give in and let players get paid… they can’t hold a job anyway… your rules suck and they are outdated… give it up…
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
Texas used too be a powerhouse!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
yeah...
but look at how well UM did this year…
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
And yet they still turn out talent.
They will be fine in a couple of years.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
Yeah this that & the otherPaul Bryant started it al!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
Never going to happen.
And while the NFL will never admit it, yes they use college ball like their minor leagues. To get them to do something different you have to show them a way that they can make a buck with it. I think in merch alone they make a profit. Then there is the TV revenues. Nothing like what the NFL gets but they would make some money even if they only sold it to the local FOX sports outlets around the country.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
If they wanted to...
They could get rid of college football altogether… How many of those kids go to college for an education in anything but football. If you had a farm league for the NFL, all the good players would be there and not college…
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
Well that is never going to happen.
Too much money to be made.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
Why dont we start a franchize
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
Lack of funds!
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
We get a loan from the Dolphins...
Technically none of our players would be eligible for the draft since they wouldn’t be amateurs, but they completely bypass the draft and play for the highest bidder… right?
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
It would be like the CFL in a way...
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
zzon to sumthing there!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
Ok whos got a hittler mantallity!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
I'm in ...
Get us a loan….We could do this ….
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
Shockingly thats the way sum of us might think the Miami dolphins started!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
Movie stars bought the dolphins in the beginning!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
Why wouldn't the NFL want in though?
If you could get all the superior talent… pay players modest salaries and offer to help them with the college of their choice… you could end the bull crap notion of amateur sports… Not even high school sports are amateur anymore … lets be honest here…
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
Yes but the two sides will never
truly work together because the colleges are not going to give up the big money. And in the end they need each other unless the NFL started a developmental league but even with that they would still need the college system because HS kids coming out are such an unknown commodity. That coupled with the sheer numbers prohibits them from being able to weed though them all as well as the college ranks do. The colleges in turn make billions for doing this for the NFL.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
who cares... you don't ask... you take...
The players are the ones that generate the big money… you get the players… you get the big money… They are taking advantage of the players…
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
there just meat to be had!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
Who cares? I am talking about
having the money to weed through tens of thousands of kids. Not viable without the college system. They could start a D league but the colleges would still be the primary feeder system for the NFL.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
Know this is the Paul Bryant that i use to know!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
you are looking at it all wrong...
You don’t scout from the entire country… you pick from local area teams… a Miami team of old Miami area players playing against an Orlando team… you could probably have more than one Miami team actually… etc… localize it to make the recruiting easier…
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
A heck of a lot of wasted tallent!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
Still talking thousands of kids.
You would still need the colleges. And why would you pay for kids to go to college when they pay for it? Thats terrible business.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
this is a thought for sumone that sells cars!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
well isn't that what were talking!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
ticket sales for a Miami based team of ex HS players...
who make a modest salary and play against other local Florida teams would more than pay for smaller salaries(obnviously you wouldn’t be giving them NFL contracts). But you would be giving them more than college gives them, and you could offer to pay for college too. You would be making less than college teams do off players, but you would easily make up for that with ticket sales. You would get all the premier talent immediately and maybe some of the kids that come out early would actually choose to stay in college because of it.
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
I guess your missing the bigger point
If you look at all the 5 star players coming out of HS for every 5 maybe 3 play 2 star and 1 has a half ass shot at the NFL. The NFL does not have the money to weed though all those tens of thousands of kids to get those few that will even had a chance to play at the next level someday.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
Then how does college football turn a profit?
People go to those games… Or for that matter… why do people go to High School games in South Florida the way they do?
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
Kicks 2 hour skip, why do people go to the movies!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
So the nfl is going to have thouands of kids under contract?
Thats foolish.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
You don't pay them big contracts....
You only have to pay them more than college teams are paying them… Believe me college teams are making billions of dollars off the backs of college kids then turning around and smacking them on the wrist if they take $50.
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
Individual college teams are
NOT making billions by themselves. As a collective yes but they also have billions in infrastructure to facilitate this along with over 100 years of tradition to drive it. What you are proposing is beyond ridiculousness.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
thats why there are scouts!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
If you think scouting a college
guy for the NFL is hard, scouting a HS kid for college is a thousand times harder. Thats why colleges need such huge rosters. Every team has 5 star recruits that never even play and 1 star guys that become stars for them. Its the biggest crap shoot as far as projection there is in sports.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
This is the chyt & unless you have been there you will never understand!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
They don't all have to go Pro...
You don’t go see a college or High School game because you know everyone is going Pro… But there are plenty of people that still pay money… How many season ticket holders are there at every college team out there?
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
anyway... off to bed for me... c'yall later...
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
flip side JS!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
I guess I totally fail to understand your point.
I do not know how the NFL could absorb the enormousness of all the kids out there that can play at the college level. Its tens of thousands of kids. If you reduce that then in the end you reduce the overall talent level. A D league would never be meant to replace the college system but only to supplement it for those kids that need another year or two of seasoning and to augment rosters for injuries and longer seasons, ext….
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
or got hurt, taking bumps and knock down is the NBA is alot different then taking hits in the NFL
21Dave - February 20, 2012
Just like Tebow, he is not used to taking hits every play, and people want to move himto TE, he will never finish the season
21Dave - February 20, 2012
let the blood flow!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
Err drip!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
but you do play a lot more games in the NBA...
So it kinda balances out a bit … doesn’t it? Same with baseball, they play like 162 games… could you ever see the NFL going to a 162 game season?
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
there is a lot of wear and tear in MLB
21Dave - February 20, 2012
162 is a big number, bumps and bruises, jamed fingers, hit by pitches
21Dave - February 20, 2012
I have a few friend that still play in the bigs and there all beat up at the end of the season
21Dave - February 20, 2012
I've been to a couple of the Marlins games!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
I know... that is my point...
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
theres a lot of wear and tear in all 4 major sports in this country
and even soccer as well
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
yes soccer for sure , ACL's,MCL's,PCL's
21Dave - February 20, 2012
soccer is where you go to play if you weren't good enough to make it in the NFL as a kicker...
I refuse to call soccer a sport… anytime you have 2 perfectly good hands by your side and choose to hit the ball with your head… I mean … I just don’t get it…
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
lol
I respect soccer for what it is and thats that
I dont follow any part of it myself
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
Just dont touch the ball with your hands !
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
lol duly noted
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
you'll be ok !
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
and playing TE
horrifying
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
did you see the NT for the Raides Kicking field goal, running catching, jumping also look a SUH he is a pure freak of nature
21Dave - February 20, 2012
did you not see LeBron actually has superpowers lol?
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
I saw him make a kid cry
21Dave - February 20, 2012
lol
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
I doubt that ...
Could you see him playing TE for the Dolphins? He could skip training camp and just play before the NBA season starts. I would take him…

texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
Lebron is everything you could want 6'8" pure muscle, and fast and can jump great hand and Eye , but in the NFL there are 30 Lebrons
21Dave - February 20, 2012
That's right on the $ 21 is awesome!
But, my friend says nfl players are on the court for less than 11 plays offense.
And nba players don’t take as many breaks.
Your thoughts…
Stats407 - February 20, 2012 via mobile
NFL take more energy per play, its kinda like soccer, there is a ton of running but not as much pure taltent
21Dave - February 20, 2012
lol thats not true
Nete88 - February 20, 2012
You could play 10 minutes at the NBA pace non stop, but each play in the NFL is all go 100% unless your randy moss
21Dave - February 20, 2012
it takes talent to control the ball with ur legs

Oh frick
Forgot my spurs were on
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
I miss the David Robinson days
AlejandroN - February 20, 2012
those were great
Im gonna be depresses for a bit when Duncan calls it quits cuz he might be the last legend I see play for any of my teams for quite a while
that and hes the last guy I grew up rooting for
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
I grew up a Spurs/Heat fan because I was born in SA and raised in Miami
Watching the twin towers play in the early 2000’s was amazing
AlejandroN - February 20, 2012
oh thats awesome
I grew up in houston and rejected the rockets cuz I loved thw twin towers so much from the get go
that first year with duncan was effing amazing
do you still follow the spurs at all? Also how did you feel when we embarrassed them in 07 lol?
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
Yeah I visit my grandparents (Dad's friend's parents) house for thanksgiving almost every year
And unlike the Rockets, they despise the Mavericks. Even though I’m more of a Heat fan (Not bandwagon) I still follow the Spurs, I can’t believe they are riding this 10 game win streak. And If you mean the Cavs by “Them” then yes I loved it. My mom even went out to buy all the championship apparel lol
AlejandroN - February 20, 2012
lol yeah well I meant Lebron and now hes on your favorite team
thats awesome Im glad you still root for them
This season and last have been so much fun. Last years loss killed me but I think we might push through again this year.
also Im so sick of everyone calling us old. Outside of timmy and manu (and bonner) were not old lol
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
Well if LeBron had won, then he wouldn't have come to Miami, so it's a win win
And I think the fact that they play great fundamental basketball and aren’t as exciting as maybe the Heat, OKC, and the Clippers is what makes people label them as old. As of now I think the “old teams” are the Mavs, the Celtics, and the Lakers in that order.
Yeah that Memphis series was tough, but luckily you don’t have to worry about Battier shooting a game winner anymore lol
AlejandroN - February 20, 2012
totally agree with you
lol no joke. It felt so good to crush memphis in this years opener lol
what would you do if it was the spurs and the heat in the finals?
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
Heat all the way
My mom would probably root Spurs though. The funny thing is that I expect that to be the Finals this year.
AlejandroN - February 20, 2012
it wouldnt surprise me at all
as of now I dont see anyone in either conference who could beat those two teams in a seven game set this year, respectively
what a great finals it would be
also id be great for spurs fans to do this year what dallas did last so they lose being able to boast haha
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
I hated that Finals series last year so much
I knew since the start of the playoffs that the team that would give us the most trouble were the Mavs. And we blew the entire thing on game 2
AlejandroN - February 20, 2012
yeah i hated it too
eveyone here was pissed (except tex lol) and most of friends are mavs fans and HATE my spurs and loved rubbing it in. Ugh it was awful
luckily though I was able to respond with “Whats 4 minus 1?” lol
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
Ugh! I hated everyone on that Mavs team
But just like you, I was happy when we ate their babies in the first game of the season when they put their banners down.
AlejandroN - February 20, 2012
Ate there babys Lmao theres a rec!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
lol i bet
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
LOL You realize that the Mavs owner and GM consider this a throw away season, right?
I mean they are still playing but they are setting themselves up to retool this summer and knew that they would struggle this season. At least they said so before the season tipped off. Also Odom sucks balls but they will not trade him as they need his cap room for trade bait during the summer. I am not worried but do not expect anything this off season. More worried about the Stars and Phins at this point. My Rangers though are good for now.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
dont you dare mention dwills name lol
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
Dwills?
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
deron williams
the guy yall apparently are intentionally sucking for lol
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
Not what I hear but who knows with Cuban. He is always thinking.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
Yeah I know, Cuban pretty much set his team to fail this season
By letting go of Barea and Chandler.
AlejandroN - February 20, 2012
Yeah but hes a smart man and I trust him over a lot of other owners out there.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
How I felt with the Heat loss is probably the way you felt with the Rangers loss
But yours was probably worse because it was back to back WS losses.
AlejandroN - February 20, 2012
It sucks but I also know that we are set up to dominate the West for the next decade.
We are young across the board and still after all that have the top ranked farm system and more coming all the time.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012

Cartoon Network had the best shows like Animaniacs, and also Tunami at night with all the badass shows.

Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012

Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
I used to tell my kids about how great cartoons were in the 80s....
then along came Netflix… the shows that I thought were awesome back then… they are HILARIOUS now…. For instance… Voltron… one of the best cartoons of the 80s… but now as an adult I finally figured out it was a simple personel problem they had … they were always needing an extra person to form Voltron… Then once they did, he pulled out his blazing sword and sliced whatever they were fighting in half… in one slice…
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
Voltron, Thundercats, Heman, Speed Racer, Transformers
21Dave - February 20, 2012
the 90s doesn't have anything on the 80s...
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
the late 80's had some kick ass stuff
but the greatest action
animecartoon came out in the ninetiesand dont get me wrong i love the 80s since I was born in them and it gave us the ninja turtles lol
but the three way combo of batman/beast wars/and dragonball z is second to none
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
Never got into any of that...
But you wouldn’t have had any of that without the Justice League of America, the original Transformers and shows like Speed Racer…..
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
oh the original transformers is really high on my all time faves
as is JLA
speed racer? PASS lol
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
12 x 12 was way fon!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
I never really got into Dragonball Z...
It came out in 1995…. I graduated High School in 1994… Had I still been into cartoons at that age… maybe I am still living at home with my parents today instead of married with kids…
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
yea i noticed that after watching something when ur older a lot of things that u didnt understand back then seem so obvious
southfloridamammalsfan - February 20, 2012
getting "baked and watching old looney tunes , bugs bunny , daffy duck, marvin the martian, fog horn leghorn
totally hilarious when you’re baked !
daytonadolfan - February 20, 2012
They don't have good Looney Tunes or Tom & Jerry anymore either...
I think they stopped playing the good ones in the 80s…
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
they took a lot of them off because they were too violent ... really, roadrunner and coyote were classic
and what kid is gonna drop an anvil on someone ?
daytonadolfan - February 20, 2012
Acme made a fortune off me!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
yeah... did anyone ever go and do any of that??q
But if they had come out with an ACME line of toys… those would have been my favorite…
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
lol and not politically correct
seeing the old unedited ones is awesome
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012
But did you ever think they were racist back then?
I would never have known they were racist unless someone told me…The lady in Tom and Jerry… do you think she was racist? I thought she was awesome…
Jason Scott_90 - February 20, 2012
oh no I never thought that
my ten year old brain couldve cared less lol
I hold fast to the idea that once our generation is in its prime then race wont be an issue (at least it sohuldnt be at that point)
lol i also thought she was awesome
Ben Bacon - February 20, 2012

Caddyshack and Airplane... two of the greatest ever!
But now I am here, so hello. Now I go back to research for future articles, so goodbye!
Finhead83 - February 20, 2012
Goffer never had a chance!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
You actually do research? I would have never guessed.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
LOL
I do it all the time. I look a lot at the players. This time I am looking at each team’s stats. I’m trying to do the Offensive Efficiency Ratings and Total Offensive Production posts I did this past July.
Finhead83 - February 20, 2012
I know you know nothing about Marty B. based on the way you dismissed his talent. I am still disappointed.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
I never said anything about Marty B...
Are you talking about Marty Booker?
Finhead83 - February 20, 2012
Nope.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
Who are you talking about?
Finhead83 - February 20, 2012
Marty B. Are you drinking again sir?
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
Now i'm interested who's MB?
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
Martellus Demond Bennett
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
Well...
“He’s a 6’6 TE that can run well, but not great. He has the build and the speed you’d look for with a TE to help in the passing game, but he lacks the accomplisments as he’s been behind Jason Witten his entire career. He’s done decently running routes and is getting better in run protection. While it may be risky to hope for him to overtake Fasano, he could at least be a very good complimentary TE that can threaten to take his job. Of course, that leaves Miami in a bind in trying to find room for Charles Clay.”
That isn’t bad about him. I like him a lot, but I don’t think he’s guaranteed to overtake Fasano in the lineup. Still, I wouldn’t mind seeing him in Miami at all. Like I thought my review pretty much said, he’s improving, but he has had limited chances behind Witten.
Finhead83 - February 20, 2012
I like him kinda reminds me of a Te Green!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
LOL He kills when he is starting but I guess you know better then me.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
On the flip pal!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
I'm not saying I know better.
Just writing my thoughts on him. I didn’t think I was speaking poor of him.
Finhead83 - February 20, 2012
No but you discounted how really good he is when I believe you said he was not
an upgrade. Thats insane and tells me you have not watched him play much. He suffers from playing with one of if not the best all around TE’s in the game and with possibly the best group of receivers in the game.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
It's not that I don't believe he will be an upgrade
Just that I haven’t seen enough to be sure he will be. I have seen Martellus play, but I have not followed him very closely, but I have been impressed by his ability. The only negative that kind of stood out to me was his dropped passes. I’m still not sure if he would be the #1 TE over Fasano if he were in Miami, but he does have more ability and is more of a receiving threat. That’s why I said at the very least he’d be a strong complimentary TE.
In fact, I believe I commented prior to the 2011 season when I was discussing TE targets that I really liked Martellus Bennett and Greg Olsen via trade, but I thought Bennett would be cheaper.
Finhead83 - February 21, 2012
If you look at his last year he was hobbled and that affected his game.
Then you put the folks he is behind and you see why he also does not get a lot of playing time. Go back and look at his numbers from A&M. He is a great athlete and could have been drafted in to the NBA (although he passed that up after being told he would not be a first rounder). The funny thing is that the fact that his numbers have not been that great actually plays in to the Dolphins hands as he will come a lot cheaper. if you can sign him on the cheap then you have upgraded a position that is not a dire position of need.
texascowpunk - February 21, 2012
I'm not aware of the injuries that affected him
But I do absolutely agree that he’s been limited behind Witten. That was one of the messages I was trying to convey when I talked about him as a FA. There is no doubt he has the ability. He has speed and he has height. He just didn’t have the opportunity. I would still like Miami to look at this guy. I prefer him to Fred Davis who will be more expensive and is more of a risk because he’s one drug suspension from a 16-game ban.
Finhead83 - February 21, 2012
Yeah Bennett is crazy but in a good way. He has one fine and its for
and insane rap video he made and placed on youtube where he declared among others things “I got I phone money, I got Jerry Jone (guess he did not know its actually Jones) money!”. Honestly not sure why the NFL took exception either. Maybe it pissed off Steve Jobs at the time. Who knows. But he is a good guy and the guys in the locker room seem to love him.
texascowpunk - February 21, 2012
Well all on the flip!
wild zion beaver - February 20, 2012
Peace
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
Spagolie i can't belive!
