Well I will not be in by the time this is posted. I will have by this time been working a college cheer-leading competition down in Fort Worth. Normally this time of year I will watch basketball (Dallas Mavericks) or hockey (Dallas Stars). Of course those of you that know me (at least through this blog) know that what I am really gearing up for this time of year is baseball (Texas Rangers).
So my question is what sports have you been watching this weekend and in general?
As always this is a live thread and you are welcome to talk about any subject that you wish but please refrain from politics and religion and keep the language as clean as possible.

sports this week-end
PGA golf
FWE - February 19, 2012
I have never been able to get in to golf for some reason.
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012 via Android app
A question of cordanation perhaps?
wild zion beaver - February 19, 2012
No. Not a sport I have ever attempted in the first place.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
And we are talking about watching not playing.
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012
I watched the heat beat everyone
As they always do… Except in the finals.
Phinsphana - February 19, 2012
Don't bring up the finals, game 2 still haunts me
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
not me
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012 via Android app
GOD DAMMIT!
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
take it down a notch there tiger
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012 via Android app
Sorry, I got a bit carried away
I just hated that game
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
haha i loved it. mavs!!!
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
No problem. Just remember that some people find that very offensive.
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
lol i feel your pain
i hate that team too, albeit completely different reasons
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Darn you Dirk. You scary Germanic man
Phinsphana - February 19, 2012
He is scary looking
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012 via Android app
Caber toss
Drumzan - February 19, 2012
huh
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012 via Android app
I'm surprised at how few people know about Caber Toss
I was only joking about it, but in case you’re curious, here’s a wikipedia link on the sport http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caber_toss
Drumzan - February 19, 2012
I know about the Nicky toss.
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
As someone that is part Scotts-Irish I should know.
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
wood-ent want to get hit by one!
wild zion beaver - February 19, 2012
I watched a bit of NFL Network today, but that's about it
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
Research no doubt!
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012 via Android app
Top 10
All Farve all the time.
Phinsphana - February 19, 2012
Magic @ Heat
NASCAR Bud Shootout
And a bunch of different EPL and FA Cup soccer.
Kevin Nogle - February 19, 2012
NASCAR?
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012 via Android app
I went to school 30 minutes south of Daytona
How can I not be a NASCAR fan?
Kevin Nogle - February 19, 2012
It's just tooo long
Why are there 300 laps?
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
Because cars going 200 mph doing 10 laps would be way too short.
Kevin Nogle - February 19, 2012
How about 100 laps?
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
Too short.
There are some races they could cut down to 300 miles instead of 500, and you would be fine.
Some need to stay 500, and the Coke 600 needs to stay that long.
Kevin Nogle - February 19, 2012
Why are some races more miles than others
Shouldn’t they all be the same?
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
Nope.
It depends on the track type, and the race itself.
Like the Daytona 500 is 500 miles on a 2.5 mile oval, but the Coke Zero 400 is at Daytona as well, but is only 400 miles.
Then, you have races that are on 0.5 mile ovals are 500 laps instead of miles.
You also have the road courses, which are different lengths and laps.
Kevin Nogle - February 19, 2012
I like F1 more than Nascar
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
I'm scotts-Irish and have uncle's
in the hills that still make moonshine and I hate it!
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012 via Android app
You just don't understand it.
lol
Kevin Nogle - February 19, 2012
And that's the key
Otherwise it just looks like cars going around in circles
Miamimaniac - February 19, 2012
I will say
Until I started to understand the driver dynamics, and exactly what was going on with the strategy / teams / rivals, it was kind of boring. Once you get into that level, it’s good.
Then, you go to a race, and you are hooked.
Kevin Nogle - February 19, 2012
same here , the bud shootout. I grew up in daytona, my dad raced on the beach before they had a track.
It becomes a part of who you are if you are from a race town.
daytonadolfan - February 19, 2012
I think being brand
loyal helps too.
Miamimaniac - February 19, 2012
LOL also my grandfather was a
NASCAR pit crew lead mechanic. I have a fairly firm grasp of the concept.
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012 via Android app
Nope.
You don’t get it.
rofl
Kevin Nogle - February 19, 2012
I guess thats the same reason I don't like watching soccer even though I played for years?
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
Went to the Canes Rutgers baseball game
And watched some Heat basketball
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
Get you some of those free tickets
they were giving out?
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012 via Android app
I actually did get some for free
But they were from some old guy that had 3 extra and gave them to me. I didn’t know they were actually giving out free tickets.
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
Yeah because they can pack the house but not on Sundays for some reason.
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012 via Android app
I think it's because of the heat
On Fridays and Saturdays the games are usually at night
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
different crowds
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012 via Android app
OK I'll be back on when I get home!
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012 via Android app
Later bro
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
Also I'm watching the 500th episode of the Simpsons
It’s not that good so far. But then again they ran out of ideas ten years ago
Phinsphana - February 19, 2012
Yeah time for them to go!
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012 via Android app
Maybe they can spin it off someway
Miamimaniac - February 19, 2012
I don't see that happening
Which saddens me since I was a big fan of the earlier seasons
Phinsphana - February 19, 2012
I don't think The Simpsons have been good since 1998
They really hit the wall, creatively speaking, around that time.
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
ive mostly been watching the heat
some cricket and fc barcalona as well. im looking forward to the inaugeral season of EFLI (elite football league of India). i dont know how well american football will work in the land of cricket. but i hope it works out. some big football and business names have sponsered it.
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
And the beat goes on,...
Red Wings extend home winning streak to 23 at “The Joe” !!!
Ohiofinfan4life - February 19, 2012
Detroit at Chicago on Tuesday ... I'll be watching.
ct1361 - February 19, 2012
That's the first thing you wrote I hate...
It’s ok though, enjoy your record*.. GO SHARKS!
Sharkz_N_Phinz - February 19, 2012 via Android app
Was over at a frinds and he had the PGA on
As TCP said, never got into golf but it was a bit interesting to watch a double playoff.
Miamimaniac - February 19, 2012
Hockey .. Blackhawks specifically.
When football season ends, hockey season officially begins.
ct1361 - February 19, 2012
Go figure they beat my 1st place Rangers to end their losing streak
I had a feeling that would happen
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
I wish the Hawks would remember how to play defense
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
That said, Chicago has a penchant for discovering great forwards
And this year is no exception. However, they really need a shutdown D to take heat off of D Keith and Seebs.
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
Blackhaws? Yuck.
Go Sharks!!!
Drumzan - February 19, 2012
This.
!
Sharkz_N_Phinz - February 19, 2012 via Android app
Not watching many sports, just keeping track of scores.
Such as right now, checking the 76ers-Wolves game on Canis Hoopus and Blue Jackets- Rangers at blueshirt banter
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
Pittsburgh Penguins
Kdog92 - February 19, 2012
It's unreal how we Dolphins fans have been in anticipation with off the field news the last couple years
Thinking we were going to get a new coach last year… Then waiting for our new OC.. Then the Kyle Orton talk.. Then we wait for a new head coach including that insane Jeff Fisher fiasco…. Now we are on Peyton Manning/RG III/ Tannehill/ Flynn watch. Gives us something to keep an eye on at least
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
The best thing is that FA is in three weeks
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
can we PLEASE stop being on Tannehill watch?
I might desert this team for good if he becomes the guy for the future
hes terrible; i promise
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
I'm only interested in 2 of those 4
But I’m just saying, there’s been so much uncertainty around our coaches and QBs.
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
well thats good
im just reacting strongly to any mention of him because im terrified of ending up with him
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Also the walking dead is on
Gonna keep hyping that show, till everyperson on earth watches it
Phinsphana - February 19, 2012
Not a huge fan, but my fiancee loves that show.
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
I always loved their Monster/FearFest they have every October but never watched that show yet
I liked AMC when they used to show the old horror classics and such.
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
I love Fear Fest. I grew up watching a lot of those '70s and '80s horror films
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
Yeah I look forward to it every Halloween
I wish they threw in more of those B&W classics too but I still enjoy it
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
I wish they did movies like "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "Nightmare on Elm Street" (my personal fave)
Have you watched any of the movies with Story Notes on AMC? It’s honestly the best thing ever for anyone who is a fan of movies and random trivia.
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
The Stephan King movies were fantastic with those notes
Phinsphana - February 19, 2012
Yeah, that was so cool
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
Oh yeah, definitely awesome and informative
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
I watched Tony Parker outplay Chris Paul...and it was awesome
MVP my asshole
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
No the MVP is in Miami
He is asking you know
Phinsphana - February 19, 2012
A king*
Phinsphana - February 19, 2012
LOL
LeBron or Wade are not carrying that team
you cant win the mvp when you share like a coward (just fyi, I REALLY love LeBron so no one lose it lol)
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Then who deserves the MVP?
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012 via mobile
not them lol
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
Lebron is having his best season easily
Their isn’t anyone close to him MVP whise
Phinsphana - February 19, 2012
I guess we'll give it to Jeremy Lin or Derrick Rose
Based on how humble they both are
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012 via mobile
lmao that'd be funny
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
THATS REALLY NOT FUNNY
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Derrick Rose has played sub par when he has been healthy
And I assume Lin is a joke
Phinsphana - February 19, 2012
i don't think he's a joke i just don't think he's mvp material, and rose is not doing that great this year.
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
I don't see him as a joke either
Just as MVP I do
Phinsphana - February 19, 2012
well if he can play the whole season at the level he's playing right now i wouldn't argue it either but idk bout that.
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
He has to improve his on not turning the ball over
I still think, based on this half of the season, that LeBron is the clear favorite to win
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012 via mobile
but he has no 4th quarter
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
Yea, because he doesn't play in the 4th quarter anymore
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
lol cause he chokes
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
No
Because he’s too busy putting his team up in the first 3 quarters by 30
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
suuure lol
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
Also, his whole career is being based on 5 bad games
No one notices the ECF or the Celtics series, or anything before that
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
celtics suck!!! lol there's no one i hate more then pierce lol
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
I hate the Celtics so much
Pierce, garnett, and especially Glen Davis when he played for them. Austin Rivers blocked me off twitter because of how much crap I talked about his dad during that series lmao
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
lol idk y but i just detest pierce lol
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
I know why
It’s his face
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
no its his attitude
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
My whole comment was a joke
I’m just going about how ESPN would hand out MVP awards
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012 via mobile
Tony F****** Parker that who
lol though i am biased (however one could make at very stong case as of right now)
honestly its still too early. Too many things will change after the all star break. Plenty of guys will play better and plenty of guys will play worse. We need more games before we start debating wether its lebron or wade or paul or whoever imo
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
hell no!!!
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
He gets the all time worst teammate ever award!
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
lol i still havent seen proof
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
And yet you still know that hes a sorry piece of crap and a terrible human-being.
In your soul, if you have one, you know!
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
lol hes a basketball player
also I dont know what happened
also people make mistakes
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Yes the do and really shitty ass hole people bang their buddies wife. Just sayin’!
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
wait, tony parker banged his friends wife?
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
Teammates wife!
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
which teammate and when did this happen?
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
Shit I can't remember now. Keith help me out here!
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
lol its unfounded
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Funny that you are the only person that believes that.
Oh and when questioned he never denied it but gave it the no comment. So we all know what that translates to.
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
lol you dont even know the player was
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
I did but I have been up since like 4 and am going to crash now.
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
speaking of LeBron, did any heat fans here think him tweeting about being the second best dunk was so terrible?
IDK why people flipped over it (Oh yes i do, they hate possibly the greatest athlete anyones ever seen)
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
I'm not a Heat fan at all but there was nothing wrong with it
Perkins made a fool of himself making a big deal. Quite frankly I don’t find the “playing in Cleveland again” talk a big deal either… Sports is so boring once the NFL season ends, every little pebble becomes a mountain of a story
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
no joke
if I hear the word “Lin_____” one more time my ears may start bleeding
and I if I read it then my eyes will lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
So sick of that. But it came back to bite ESPN on the ass lol
Did you see that headline they used after their loss to the Hornets? Lol
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
"A Chink in the Armor"
and an anchor actually said that line on TV and got suspended. The writer who posted it on the site was supposedly fired. It wasn’t on the main site, but the mobile one, something like that
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
yeah he was fired
and yeah it was on the mobile site cuz I saw it on my phone lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
The anchor that said it was suspended, which is pretty stupid
He said it without being racist, but because of the headline he was suspended. ESPN is so stupid lol I expect a “Is Jeremy Lin better than LeBron?” headline to come out soln
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012 via mobile
Soon*
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012 via mobile
lol
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
"Chink in the armor"
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012 via mobile
lol yeah
what made me laugh the most is how pissy everyone got over it.
I dont think ive ever heard that word used outside of explanatory terms lol
imo its like calling a white guy a cracker but thats me I guess
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
I can't stand basketball, being a Florida boy I never really got too huge into Hockey.
This is my down sports season. I am not a NASCAR fan in the slightest and I would much rather play golf than watch it. Watching golf to me is like watching paint dry.
So here I sit searching for a morsel of new about my beloved Dolphins and waiting for the Marlins to start. I am definately planning to attend at least one game in each stadium this year.
Hollywood Dolfan - February 19, 2012
so, a decision on Peyton will reportedly be reached by the end of this week
What are the phinsiders’ thoughts? Go or no go?
I say no go not because of health or age reasons, but because he won’t be as good in a west coast offense. He is smart, not instinctive, which is what will stop him.
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
I say yes for sure
Either that or trade for RGIII. Peyton is still Peyton.. I’m up for most rumored options right now other than signing Flynn. Manning will adapt just fine IMO
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
smh @ rg3
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
you syh at anyone not named Luck :P
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
or Tyler wilson or Matt barkley
But he has an unreasonable hate for RGIII
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
also barkley
lol not unreasonable hate. I just think he has bust written all over him. Eliminate Cam Newton and the hype for RG3 is no where near this high
then people would be too busy thinking about how much of a cross between Pat White and Vince Young he is
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
if we don't get rgIII i'd be comfortable with tannehill
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
lol youre just trying to push my buttons
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
actually no, but that'd be a nice byproduct lol
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
because he is black?
I actually don’t think he is anything like newton. I is a much better passer and runner than him. He actually reminds me more of Aaron Rodgers than anyone else.. Youngs problem was that he was stupid and undisciplined. RGIII was the smartest QB in the nation (even smarter than luck) and is motivated and disciplined. You sorta have to be when both if your parents were in the military. Whites problem was that he was too small, while Rgiii is a solid 6’2". Russell Wilson and kellen Moore are more like white.
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
whats wrong with blacks?
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
I don't have any problem
But apparently bacon does as he isn’t comparing RGIII to anyone who is not black. You have to look past the color of a players skin and at their talent. I would compare RGIII to Aaron rodgers, Steve young and Steve McNair.
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
oh ok....not that i'm black. i just think racism is stupid....unless its jews.......lmao jk jk there cool to
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
Haha
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012 via mobile
rodgers ran a pro style o at cal
how can you say they are similar when they ran two completely different offenses?
and steve young? Young was bigger and was built for a west coast offense because he was so insanely good at rolling out and throwing on the run much like rosgers
and mcnair was a big pocket passer who moved alot in a lot of ways to how Big Ben plays right now
race has nothing to do with this dude
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
but i think if your gonna run a wco then your best options in the draft are rgIII and wait for it..............tannehill
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
kil me
just kill me
see anish? Tannehil is white and I freaking hate him lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
lol but thats cause he's not a bigot like u.....lol jk jk i believe ur not racist lol
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
lol i know
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
yeah but that's cuz you've seen him practice
You have reason to hate him
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
lol
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
lol
and I dont “hate” rg3
I just hate the idea of him playing for the phins lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Marino played in a spread offense, so he should have busted by your strategy
The type of offense doesn’t matter, you either have it or you don’t, and rgiii has it
Your saying he isn’t like Steve young because young and McNair could toll out and throw on the run when rgiii excels at that very skill.
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
i never said that
I usually prefer guys from pro style systems but not always
and the type of offense does matter. Plenty of guys can light it up in a spread or an easy o so you have to tread lightly
its like getting too excited over a pitcher with a 2.3 era in double AA…yeah theres a ton of promise obviously but who the hell knows if itll last or itll translate
lastly lets see RG3 do it with two tight ends and one wideout and a back going out….he ran a simple and tailor made for him offfense at Baylor that did EXACTLY everything right to make him look as good as possible….also Young and Mcnair did it with 300 pound lineman bearing down on them
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
nothing?
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
race has nothing to do with it
but QB’s are more or less three types: pocket passers, scramblers, and guys who run (i mean yeah most of these are black guys but so what its just the style most of them play)
You cant say he was smarter than luck when lucks offense was miles ahead of Rg3’s in terms of complexity
also like I said before griffin is no 6’2
I just dont trust him. Hes an insane amount of question marks but people are too busy drooling over his deep arm accuracy and his athletic ability. Both of these traits were highlighted in the best way possible in baylors offense. They need to be put in perspective
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
isn't smarter than luck?
He had a perfect qpa at Baylor, which is an academics first school, not football first. He has been described by many as a student of the game.RGIII is a scrambler, nit a guy who runs. My concern with him is that he actually runs too little, he always goes through all his reads, while only using the run as a last resort. Not ably is he athletic and accurate on the deep ball, he us also accurate on short and intermediate routes. He also has a great attitude and is a humble guy, what else do you need from a QB?
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
Stanford is a better school academically than baylor and its not even close
I know this, I have many friends who went and go to baylor
Stanford is one of the hardest schools in the nation to get into. Anyone with money can get into Baylor
And Im not saying hes not smart. But Andrew Lucks football IQ is off the charts
Also I have nothing against him personally, he seems like a real nice guy. but I have a laundry list of issues with him from a football standpoint
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
ok, you haven't listed any of them, you've only compared him to qb's he doesn't compare to at all
And repeatedly contradicted yourself.
Give me actual football issues you have with him.
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
like he has a horrible release, chokes under pressure, makes dumb throws, has a wimpy arm, isn't tough, etc etc
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
that's not what i think
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
lol, I thought you were bacon fir a sec and was about to refute all of those points
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
lol oh hell no!!! lol
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
lol, I thought you were bacon fir a sec and was about to refute all of those points
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
lol im trying not to really get into it
it makes me tired because I know were not gonna get him and the proof will be there (imo) that hes a fraud in three years
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
lol so ur gonna plead the 5th after all that?
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
i just dont feel like debating i guess
itll feel like two years ago when Nick was CONVINCED (as were many) that Clausen was awesome and better than bradford and I disagreed and went round and round and he had better arguments but I just saw many things that I didnt like and so yeah
it sucked the “argue against” mentallity out of me….ill argue for but not really against anymore cuz it makes me tired
also when someone believes in something you cant change their mind. For instance, good luck convincing me that Andrew Luck wont end up in the hall of fame
lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
clausens biggest issue wasn't talent, it was just the fact that he was a disrespectful punk
Rgii doesn’t have that issue, being born in a highly disciplined military household.
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
thats silly
talent is talent is talent
true talent cant help but come out
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
i'm not saying luck isn't the best in this draft but he's not gonna end up in miami which is why we are focusing our attention on other options like tannehill and rgIII
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
well rg3 wont come here either
were either gonna get manning, tannehill, or flynn
thats it for this year imo (as far as the dolphins are thinking)
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
I'm up for Flynn...
about as much as you are for Tannehill. NO MORE BACKUPS!!
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
lol i look at it this way
no one knows him better than philbin.
Philbin got to have rodgers for some time so hes spoiled
THEREFORE, if he tells ross to pay matt whatever he wants to have him, then hells yeah
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
how have I contradicted myself?
and Ive at least expressed concern over his size
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
and the crap and simple offense he ran
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
three examples of you contradicting yourself
You state he is not like Steve young or mcnair by saying they were fits in a WCO because they could roll out of the pocket and throw on the run, when that is one of the many things rgiii excels at
You state that rgii will not succeed because he I a running qb, while you neglect to mention that your golden boy luck runs just as much a rgiii, an rgiii is better than luck at running.
You state that rgiii is too small at his listed height of 6’2". I don’t care how tall you think he is, I’m just looking at listed height until the combine. You forget the fact that luck is the same height at 6’2", yet you don’t have an issue with luck being too small.
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
when did baylor run a west coast o? and when is rolling out the only measurement for beign good in a wco? Geez yeh I said that was their biggest strengths but rg3 rolling out in college against much smaller players and dumping it off to a back or slot guy isnt the same thing as the what the other two did. Similar in the bare bones maybe but his offense is insanely simpler than anything those two ran
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
they ran WCO offenses in college?
It doesn’t matter what kind of offense they had in college, Marino played in the spread, so he should have failed by that logic. I never said rolling out was the best measurement of success in a WCO, you did. He ran a college O, and is smart enough to learn an NFL O.
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
im comparing their pro days to him
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
no i siad running will get him killed because I dont think his body will be able to handle that kind of punishment from being such a mobile QB. Being a running Qb has nothing to do with it. Vick is a top ten Qb when hes healthy and runs all the freakin time
Andrew Luck had 47 rushing attempts last season Griffin had 161!! Height and size matters a hell of alot more when you run alot more. This is why I pointed out Big Ben and Mcnairs size (and now Newton) becuase that allows them to be able to run al the time
Vick runs all the time and he cant stay healthy. And if Rg3 is as talented as Vick then holy crap thats incredible. but while he is talented hes most likely not on Vicks level.
Unless a QB is 65 240 like roethlisberger he cant be running downfield all that much because hes going to get killed.
Robert Griffin has high chance of getting killed early on and never realizing any of his talent. That terrifies me
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012

AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
lol have you not read my new sig?
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
the only Qb in this draft Id be interested in taking outside of luck (obviously) would be a lter round flier on Osweiler
this also assumes we get a healthy manning
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
smh @ u syh @ RGIII
Why must you unreasonably hate RGIII? He is the 2nd best qb in the draft and may even end up better than luck due to his tremendous upside.
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
I think he'll get injured too easily
Phinsphana - February 19, 2012
doubt it, he doesn't have a history of injury concerns and is 220 something lbs
Which is very good for an NFL qb.
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
but look at him
he looks like a big linebacker will snap his spine
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Agreed small Qbs
Especially mobile ones always gets hurt, has Vick ever started a full season
Phinsphana - February 19, 2012
EXACTLY
And I love me some Mike vick. but the man won me a fantasy champ two years ago and crushed them this year lol. And he was never hurt in college either
And we can all pretty much agree that any Qb in Vicks mold mostl likely wont be as good because Vick is an insanely special talent. Imo hes one of a very few group of QBs who can play like he does and be effective…but even Vick cant freaking stay healthy
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
lol read above comment
also hes barely over 6 feet
no way in hell hes 6’2, just wait til the combine
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
lol he's still taller then u.
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
lol im also not trying to be a QB in the nfl
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
lol true. but trust me 6'2 is a fine height for a qb
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
but hes not 6'2 lol
also yeah it is but hes also not a thick guy by any stretch.
Hell be hurt for half a season or more within 3 seasons, Im telling you
guys like Newton and Big Ben can get away with running around so much because theyre big dudes who can take hits
Look at Mike Vick. Hes the best of anyone like him and he cant stay healthy
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
dude i'm 6'2 and weigh 225 and i'm thick lol so if hes shorter then he's bigger then me
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
dude, he looks like a kick returner
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Really because all I see is a bad ass QB!
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
lol he does look cool
and has a cool name
but thats not enough lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
No but his Superman socks make him the coolest EVAH!!
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
got love the socks man
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
thats awesome that he wears superman socks
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
not just superman socks just awesome socks except that there not no-shows
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
lol get over it man. for a wco he's perfect
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
sigh
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
you know i'm right
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
lol go read my reply above to anish
i finally kinda let it out lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
bah
hes probably all around the greatest QB of all time. IF hes healthy then I fully support giving all the moneys he wants to come play for us for a few years
We can draft a QB whenever then (even in 2014) as long as hell get at least one year under manning so he can learn from him. His knowledge is invaluable (and points to just how miserably awful curtis painter is lol)
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Yeah I agree
If we sign him we should use the draft to build the line more and help him out. With a good O Line and a QB that could actually utilize Marshall, Bess, etc. we could have a great offense.
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
yup
then next year we can drop our first round pick on the best QB available or trade up a bit to get him
imo if we sign a HEALTHY Manning and then just simply put garner at rg with jerry as his backup (and cut careys ass) and then stick murtha in at rt
then we grab the best pass rusher with the first pick and then grab us some olineman whenever in the draft
also we need to sign martellus bennett in this scenario
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
do all that and we AT LEAST get the afc champ game provided nothing awful happens like losing wake or Peyton or something of that nature
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
That's how I feel too
we have to draft a QB while we have Manning.. We don’t want to go into another tailspin of mediocrity once he retires (watch him stay with the Colts after all this nonsense lol)
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
indeed
and I personally love the idea of devoting this draft to manning (to also draw him to sign with us….because really, wouldnt he wanna know how our draft will go? and wouldnt he be kinda peeved if we “waste” a high pick on a qb this year?) and then grabbing the best guy we can next year because presumably (if we do it right) we wont have any pressing needs that our first pick has to be used on outside of qb
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
i'm against the idea of manning in miami. it just screams bad idea to me
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
sad
it would be so much fun
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
lol hell no
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
Yeah, one reporter said Manning would be signed after the draft...
That makes no sense to me… How the hell could you go into a draft wondering if you’ll either have one of the best QBs ever, or perhaps no true starter at all? Having Manning would change your draft goals immensely imo
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
lol that wont happen
hell be signed within two weeks max of his release date
cuz you know hes already thinking about it
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
by the end of the week? did espn or nfl.com report it, or was it just a rumor?
southfloridamammalsfan - February 19, 2012
ESPN mentioned it earlier this weekend
But they only go by all those Irsay tweets for the most part. He and Manning could easily push their meeting back again like they’ve been doing for reasons only known to themselves (if even that)
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
basketball
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
blegh
you root for the mavs lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
lol yup and wat?
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
you know where I stand
lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
lol yeah you like spurs in ur hips lol
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
lol
still better than being a mavs fan lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
how so? atleast the mavs are still kinda young. duncan is an old basterd lol
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
Lol kinda young?
Isn’t Vince Carter on that team?
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012 via mobile
ok you got me there i forgot about that old ass lol
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
Actually Dallas is THE oldest team in the NBA
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012 via mobile
LOL
thats awesome. Thanks Alejandro for winning my argument for me haha
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Yeah but they are holding pat as a lot of contracts come off their books next summer.
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
lol outside of duncan, bonner, and manu
were actually a pretty young team
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
well they still suck!!! lol
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
I watched the NBA and college basketball
southfloridamammalsfan - February 19, 2012
lol. Looks like Bacon is making friends left and right!
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
Same old same old.
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
Oh, you're here!
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
Yeah just got home a bit ago.
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
I see
Bacon just declared his love for Ryan Tannehill. I say we join his bandwagon.
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
lol
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
I still have not gotten over his ignorant statement from the other night.
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
which one?
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
The one that I can not speak of here.
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
lol so im not the only ignorant commentor around here huh?
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
No you are. I was speaking of you still.
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
lol you always say i did things and then never tell me
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Because I can not bring it up. Besides when I saw it my head nearly exploded. You literally tried to kill me.
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
lmao like what i did to him yesterday
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
facebook
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
lol
please dont
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
lol always
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
i hate talking about RG3 becuase someone always pulls the race card on me lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
That's because you are a ...
Communist. What? What did you think I was going to say?
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
lol not at all
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
I don't think you are racist
I just think you are making assumptions based on his color. If you look at film and stats, he runs just as much as you buddy luck.
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
But ... but ... but ... but ...
He has dreadlockskmb8488 - February 19, 2012
lets please not compare him to Luck
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
?rac·ism   [rey-siz-uhm] Show IPA
noun
1.
a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement,
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
Wolves beat Sixers yay
Back to .500 and 1.5 games out of a playoff spot
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
lol its kinda soon to talk about playoffs don't you think?
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
They're usually out of the race by game #10, so I'm optimistic lol
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
lol oh ok
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
So ... Suppose we're in a Bacon dream sequence
And we have a choice of Robert Griffin III, Ryan Tannehill or Balki Ginobili as our next quarterback. Which guy would you take?
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
tannehill!!! is his dream but rgIII
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
rg3 and cross my fingers
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
that im wrong
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Wrong about what?
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
him being a bust lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Oh good, ESPN just said "Lin better than Magic? We can prove it"
Here we go.
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
OMG
Don’t get me wrong, that kid is good and only going to get better but comparing him to Magic is freaking stupid as hell.
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
I am getting sick of Linsanity
I like him as a player but Christ ESPN wont shut the hell up about him.
Patssuck456 - February 19, 2012
Granted, they were basically punished for overdoing the Linsanity coverage
I will never understand how they put out that headline. Sheer idiocy.
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
I still dont know how they let that slip
Seriously, how the hell do you have that headline pass through editing with no one saying
“No, we cant run that, it will cause a shit storm”
Patssuck456 - February 20, 2012
I srsly cant take it anymore
theyre making me hate him, which is lame because theres no reason to
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Haha I think I posted above that a future ESPN headline would be "Lin better than Lebron?"
But this is worse…far worse.
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
Lol yes you did, I would have posted my comment as a reply to yours
But was too lazy to look for it lol. ESPN saw it too and decided to up the ante, comparing him to a legend
phinsphan85 - February 19, 2012
Is Zombie slaying a sport?
Because there’s a lot of sporting goods used. Crossbows, bats, the occasional hockey stick…………
Beyond that, Isles hockey took up much of my time. And the last quarter of the Mavs- Lins -Oops-I-mean-Knicks game was ballin’.
FLIslesfan22 - February 19, 2012
Anyone want to play a fun game related to how big-time college QBs over the past 30 years were ranked and analyzed prior to the NFL Draft?
?
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
I'll offer a snippet of what was written about them, you tell me who the QB is
And don’t cheat and try to find these quotes on the Internet. That’s bad form.
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
LOL You are taking this game of yours big time now.
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
It's actually my way of proving that even the "can't miss" prospects can ... well, miss.
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
sounds fun
lets try it
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
commence!
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
Here we go. Prospect No.1. Bacon should be able to answer this in a nanosecond
“Outstanding Pac 10 quarterback who took over a run-heavy offense with an underwhelming receiver corps and literally willed them to a major bowl game. Great size, accuracy, arm strength and unbelievably smart. The total package for a QB prospect, and as good a prospect as we’ve seen at the position.”
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
luck
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
We'll get answers from you, Alejandro and Bacon
For the sake of keeping score.
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
sounds good
also start at the bottom so its not messy if you wouldnt mind
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
That's fine
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
hehe okay
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
luck
Nete88 - February 19, 2012
luck
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
JAKE LOCKER!!!
lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
thoguh I could totally be right cuz he is the total package
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
That's seriously the answer you're submitting?
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
lol yes indeed
ill take the docked point just in case
cant leave my old ho hangin just cuz my new one is so awesome ya know?
lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Trick question
Pac 10 doesn’t exist
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
It was the Pac 10 last season
Don’t worry.
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
Still waiting on an answer from Alejandro
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
Luck
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
All right, we'll shift this to the bottom for the answer
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
Wait no!
Elway
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
it was last year dufus
lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
holy crap it was locker lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
let's go
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
KEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
It's above
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
Peace everyone!
texascowpunk - February 19, 2012
Later
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
see ya dude
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
bye texy-pooh
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
alright bacon, it's late and imtired of debating
How bout we accept the fact that we are not going to change each others opinions on RGIII and hope that, if he is a dolphin, he will succeed and lead us to multiple super bowls.
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
lol sounds good to me
i expect an apology from you in 2015 haha
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
and il give you one if, somehow, im actually wrong for once
lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
if he busts, you will gladly get it as he isn't going to be a phin anyways, and I don't mind eating crow, I fully accept that I was wrong about newton (I thought he would be a major bust)
But he does succeed, I expect one from you, lol
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
oh i totally thought the same thing about Newton
however Im still not so sure hes actually THAT good
we shall see how defenses adjust to him next year
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
last year Locker was my obsession if you remember lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
actually, I wasn't here last year
Or at least not as much, or as often
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
lol i took it up a notch with Luck this year
but I was close to being as obsessed with Locker last year
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
locker is good, I wouldve loved to have taken him at 15 if he was available
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
that draft infuriated me to new heights last year
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
ireland did a good job taking the BPA, but he failed to get a franchise qb
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
and he easily coulda jumped up for Locker
and to make it worse he would of fit perfectly in with our new coaches
*sigh
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
That blurb was taken from a Mel Kiper Jr. analysis published in ...
1998. The quarterback? Washington State’s Ryan Leaf.
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
Score is still at zero for everyone here.
Prospect No. 2
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
lol @ mel kiper #cantbelieveeverythingyouread
also you said last year…..
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
he said last 30 years
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
yeah but when he said pac ten he said it was last year...
NO FAIR KEITH!!
lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
I said Pac 12, which was this year
Pac 10 was last year and all the years before
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
So I'm not a dufus
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
lol no
i am
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
No, your convictions were in the right place
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
Exactly. I was talking about the Pac 10
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
well im an idiot lol
though i still wouldnt have gotten it lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
wow... just... wow
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
I said last year? You lost me
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
yeah in reference to it still being the pac 10
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
And yeah, kind of shocking to see such conviction behind Ryan Leaf's draft stock
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
from kiper? bah
plus lots of people thought he would be better than peyton
but they forgot he was an asshole and never tried…also he was f******* retarded lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
speaking of which
Doesn’t Jimmy clausen have the most punchable face? Just look at him.
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
Clausen sucks
lol. Nick’s never going to live down the Clausen hype of 2010.
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
lol damn right he wont
and everytime bradford looks good I rub it in haha
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
lol he totally does
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Is he a bigger bust than Jamarcus?
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
I would say so
because anyone with a half a brain knew jamarcus was a train waiting to pelham 1,2,3 itself
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
The problem with JaMarcus is no one prior to the draft even bothered to question his clear lack of brains
Leaf was supposed to be some kind of cerebral, strong-armed warrior under center.
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
lol very true
geez russel was stupid
I always thought the same thing when young was so hyped since I had friends who knew him and attested to his stupidty lol
also anish Ive had one friend who knows RG3 and indeed hes apparently a real good guy
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
no, I was just shocked
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
Okay, prospect No. 2
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
Btw, all of these guys were high picks
“A natural, (he) had neither perfect mechanics nor much athleticism, but he could make any throw, saw the whole field and was just really advanced for his age, which we saw in his NFL career when he threw for over 4,555 yards (before everybody was doing it) at the age of 22. He was a college starter at 18, and had an effortlessness to his approach.”
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
I know.
Kevin Nogle - February 19, 2012
Mosul, did you cheat and look for the quote!?
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
lol. Okay, Mosul's playing now, too
This will be a fun pre-Combine game.
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
No.
I know this one.
I would have missed the first one.
Kevin Nogle - February 19, 2012
Apparently I'm not the only one who knows it.
Kevin Nogle - February 19, 2012
Cheaters!
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
Washington State Fetish ^^^
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
lol the yardage did it for me
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Marino?
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
no, scratch that
Drew Bledsoe is my final answer
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
no, scratch that
Drew Bledsoe is my final answer
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile

kmb8488 - February 19, 2012

Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
His next prospect will be Warren Moon lol
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
LOL
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Warren played at U of Washington
Take that!
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012

AlejandroN - February 19, 2012

AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile

Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
QB Prospect No.3
“A smart, accurate passer with good athletic ability, (he) completed 68 percent of his passes this season. His arm strength is good enough and his release is quick, and the fact that he seems a bit mechanical at times is simply a product of the way he is coached to hold the ball at shoulder level.”
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
Either Peyton or Rodgers
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
Alex smith
I know he completed 68% once
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Peyton
Kevin Nogle - February 19, 2012
I'm going out on a limb here and saying Alex smith
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
lol my limb
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
uh, no

Have you noticed we have agreed on everything this far except him? Locker, newton, Ireland, luck , agreed on everything.
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile

AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile

Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
uh, no

Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012

Is Cal’s Aaron Rodgers.
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012

kmb8488 - February 19, 2012

AlejandroN - February 19, 2012

Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
THATS BULLSH**
lol who wrote that quote?
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Your best friend Mel Kiper Jr.
He probably meant 66 percent. Oh well, serves you right for looking up those numbers.
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
lol i did it after I put my answer
dammit it all kiper
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
lol
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
QB Prospect No.4, and I am omitting all the numbers!
“A mobile quarterback who rushed for (…) yards and (…) touchdowns, (he) is also a very efficient passer who completed (…) percent of his attempts with (…) TDs against only (…) interceptions. He is tremendously intelligent and will pick up an offensive system quickly at the next level. The one knock is that he’s somewhat of a finesse passer who did not have to muscle a lot of throws into tight spots in college.”
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
LOL
your turning into my dad after I kept finding my christmas presents year after year haha
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Same draft class as Rodgers
Smith.
Kevin Nogle - February 19, 2012
im putting down my former answer
Alex Smith
also would you stop getting kiepr quotes?!?!?! This sounds like another kiper quote lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
You get what you get, Bacon
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
lol apparently
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
another limb here with luck
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
if it doesnt compare him to a greek god
then it cant possibly be about Luck
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Comparing Luck to a Greek God is an insult....
…to Luck lol
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
LOL
#winning
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Yeah, Kiper's reviews of Andrew Luck typically include penis length
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
LMAO
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Such truth
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
I'll put Smith also
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
QB Prospect No.4 ...
… is Utah’s Alex Smith. How did you get that so fast, Mosul?
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
dang it
I shouldn’t gone with my original instinct. I changed my mind after I saw mobile.
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
Mobile QB and finesse passer.
I don’t know why I remember that, but I do.
Probably because he was a #1.
Kevin Nogle - February 19, 2012
same here
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
It's just funny that Kiper said he was giving Smith the nod due to his height advantage
Let that be a lesson to all of you.
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
that Nicky still has a chance to do something useful with his life?
AnishB15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
Oh my!
texascowpunk - February 20, 2012

AlejandroN - February 19, 2012

Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012

AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
later.
Kevin Nogle - February 19, 2012
Here's the last one. QB prospect No.5
“(He) doesn’t have prototypical arm strength, and he needs to quicken his release, but he reads defenses well, is fairly accurate and puts excellent touch on his passes. He is also a bit of a gunslinger, showing the ability to consistently buy time in the pocket and create plays when the protection breaks down.”
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
Jay Cutler
wierd. reading that LITERALLY warped me straight back to that 06 draft
HOLY CRAP THE TEXANS TOOK MARIO!!! Oh wait now Im back
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
actually maybe not
“doesnt have prototypical arm strength” doesnt feel like Cutler
lol though its prolly another kiper quote
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Since Cutler has a canon
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Good save
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
Any other guesses?
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
i just dont know who else wouldve been called "gunslinger" since brett favre
and its not him lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
the only other guy called that is cutler
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
lol so im wrong?
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Let's just say you answered your own question
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
sad face
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
ill just say cutler
but if its favre im taking credit lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Kmb said 30 years ago
favre was in college at least a hundred years ago…I think it’s Cutler now that you mention it but idk
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
yeah it just feels like some idiot blabbering partially wrong about Cutler prior to that draft lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
I hate watching and hearing Mel Kiper on draft day
Because he is proven wrong and then tries to save it by going on some dumb trance about a player
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
The funny thing is Jay Cutler has prototypical arm strength
And a pretty quick release at this point.
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
You're right.
Now that I see Cutler’s name, it has to be him.
Kevin Nogle - February 19, 2012
See?
it just feels like cutler
its the “gunslinger” doing it lol
Ben Bacon - February 19, 2012
Flynn
Don’t have a clue.
Kevin Nogle - February 19, 2012
Roethlisberger
AlejandroN - February 19, 2012
QB prospect No. 5 ...
Is Vanderbilt’s Jay Cutler.
Kiper was waaaaaaaay off on the analysis of Cutler’s arm strength.
kmb8488 - February 19, 2012
