With the 2012 NFL Free Agency set to kick off in less than a month, in depth analysis of the free agents available, the free agents leaving, and the free agents being signed will be everywhere. One of those analysis was on SI.com yesterday. The Sports Illustrated guys took a look at each of the teams in the AFC East, breaking down each team, including the Miami Dolphins, into the free agents they will have, who they need to sign, and who they should let walk.
They conclude each team with an outlook of how the team should be in free agency. For the Dolphins, they point out that the team has some money to spend, and should be in good shape throughout the free agency period.

When it comes to players the Dolphins should not resign, SI.com states:
"Players Miami should let walk: Allen; Colombo; Henne; Soliai
"Let's start with Soliai, who's coming off a Pro Bowl season. His accomplishment actually happens to be the problem for the Dolphins, who simply cannot afford to pay Soliai what he'll command on the open market. If Philbin swaps to a 4-3, as mentioned above, it could minimize the impact of losing Soliai in the middle.
"As for the other three on this list, it's just time to move on from Miami. Allen is on the downside of his career, Henne never panned out and Colombo flat-out stunk in 2011."
To see the full break down of free agency for the Dolphins and the rest of the AFC East, head over to the SI.com article.

It's cold, hard world in an 8 billion dollar industry.
Where’s my paycheck?!

I am very excited to see who will replace each of the names mentioned above. Gonna be a very exciting season!
Dolphinator - February 17, 2012 via mobile
Easy
Henne will be replaced with Flynn, Manning, drafted QB, orsomeone who isn’t worth a damn.
Allen will be replaced with Jimmy Smith. Which means we’ll likely take a shot a CB sometime in the draft.
Columbo will be replaced with either Riley, John Jerry, Gartner, or a drafted RT.
Solia will be replaced with the tandom of Odrick and Starks.
I guess another name to add to that list of being released is Langford since he’s more of a 3-4 DE.
Mr_Solo_Dolo - February 17, 2012
I mean Jimmy Wilson. Dang did it again!!
Mr_Solo_Dolo - February 17, 2012
Like from "its a wonderful life"?
JerseyGuy77 - February 17, 2012
Lydon Murtha is def a potential RT for us as well.
And it’s possible we don’t resign Langford this offseason.
ryan.benker - February 17, 2012
I hope wherever Henne goes...
they get him a helmet that fits.
Phinphinatic - February 17, 2012
I thought you said "get him helmets for tits"
Which is still great when you think of those pictures posted of him when he was in the Bahamas.
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
lmao
that was pretty funny…
Phinphinatic - February 17, 2012
If you switch to a 4-3 Haynesworth is available - cheap.
He’s probably still in Florida, too. After all you’d need some motivation to leave, and well, that seems to be an issue for him.
SlotMachinePlayer - February 17, 2012
No thanks to that one.
He’d be better with Philly where he can be reunited with Washburn. They can put up with him.
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
Yeah he had one game with the Pats that made me think he was the real deal.
He was triple teamed, pushed all the guys back and almost got the QB. Then you get a play where a single guy barely leans on him and pushes him back. Frustrating.
SlotMachinePlayer - February 17, 2012
That's been the story of his career really.
He plays when he wants to play.
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
I had a Randy Moss flashback as I read that.
SlotMachinePlayer - February 17, 2012
Yep.
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
I disagree w/ si.com
Keep Chad to compete w/ Moore if we’re NOT drafting a QB and keep Soliai
2madison9 - February 17, 2012
In the miraculous chance that Chad comes back.
It’s not for a competition, but only as a backup.
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
Well, I dont see Moore having a guaranteed starting spot if he's in competition w/ Henne
I CANNOT be the only one who feels that way. Henne looked pretty darn good before suffering that injury. It looked as if he was FINALLY coming into his own. I’d love to see him back.
2madison9 - February 17, 2012
i am with you,
but this fan base has already moved on from the Henne hype. I also thought he had shown improvement, but i suppose that it was too little too late.
Phinphinatic - February 17, 2012
Im not so sure they've moved on
Calling all Henne supporters lol. He showed real promise before the injury. He was making smarter decisions and boy was he mobile. Surprise, surprise. He deserves another chance IMO. Give him a short deal and see what he can prove. Especially, now that we have better offensive personnel.
2madison9 - February 17, 2012
lol and Ralph Wiggum isnt so wise haha
2madison9 - February 17, 2012
He showed improvement, yes.
Just not enough that I think Miami would allow him to compete with Moore. Moore just did a better job with the team.
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
You, honestly, believe Chad couldn't have done the same job or better if his season wasn't cut short?
If you can say that with conviction then I’ll just leave it at that
2madison9 - February 17, 2012
finhead says everything with conviction...
Phinphinatic - February 17, 2012
LOL
That is both good and bad…
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
most certainly
Phinphinatic - February 17, 2012
LOL
I’m sure I get a lot of people that think “will he just shut up already.” It comes with my natural stubbornness, but I don’t mean any harm by it!
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
I don't know.
I really do think Henne improved and I really like the progress he made, but I can easily tell that Moore has a better connection with Marshall. It seems like Moore is also willing to take more chances than Henne did as well. I really like Henne and I do agree he improved, but I just don’t see him being brought back to compete with the team because Miami was winless without him and they finished well with Moore.
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
I was all for bringing Henne back
To compete with more if Sparano was still the HC or Daboll the OC,but with a new coach I don’t think it will happen. Soliai will cost to much. How about using the money you would have paid Soliai and inside get Cliff Avril. He could make a few more tackles, but with stat like 11 sacks, an INT for a TD.4 PD’s and 6 FF 3 of them recovered with 1 for a TD. Avril opposite Wake would give us a duel to rival Freeney and Mathis.
NawlinsPhinFan - February 18, 2012
In the minority here.....
Give Henne a chance to compete!!
PhinFanatic - February 17, 2012 via mobile
No real reason
not to resign him unless he asks for too much money
Gamer2102 - February 17, 2012
Henne...`
I’ve been a supporter of Henne for as long as he’s been the starter, but I have to say… the best way to support him now is to wish him the best with whatever team he ends up with. He needs a change of scenery more than anything.
delusioned - February 17, 2012
*Slowly backs away from this thread trying not lash out at Henne supporters*
Hollywood Dolfan - February 17, 2012
OK couldn't resist this...maybe Parcells should have simply google Chad Henne prior to drafting him.

Hollywood Dolfan - February 17, 2012
above video...
seems like Henne was pressured on all these “mistakes” that are shown and the funny part is it always seemed to come from the outside where Jake Long was playing Tackle.
Look, the guy has improved and it showed in that New England game, the same one that our defense gave up over 500 yds passing. Our entire team was playing terrible for the first 7 games. I would love to keep Henne, Moore, and whoever we draft or sign. The competition that ensues will give us the right man and whoever is the odd man out can be traded for a late round pick. Just my humble opinion.
SilentStorm73 - February 17, 2012
I wouldn't mind Henne coming to traning camp...
IF his contract was structured for him to not get payed like a starter/backup till after preseason. If he is still on the team at that point of course.
