One thing I think we all have is some form of memorabilia or swag from our favorite teams. I of course have a lot of Miami Dolphins, Miami Hurricanes, Texas Rangers items as well as my Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars swag. Some of you might only have a few items like a hat or a t-shirt while others seem to have a warehouse full of items or the ultimate man cave decked out in fan colors, fan swag and of course a kegarator if you are really going to do it up right.
My question of the night is, of all the items you have what is your single favorite items and why? Also how did you acquire your item if there is a good story to go with it. Mine is a signed football from around 1980 that has the likes of Griese, Shula, Strock, Moore, Cefalo, von Schamann, Blackwood, Betters, exct......
My dad received it from Shula on one of his visits to the Dolphins practice facility. He was a reservist then and also worked for a company that advised teams on their turf and turf maintenance. Somewhere along the line he met Shula and at some point Shula gave him the ball. All I know is that its a game uses ball that the team signed it. Even then I was a bigger Dolphins fan then my dad so I wound up with the ball. I am sure that they had several at that time that they gave out to whoever but at 10 I thought I had the only one with all of those awesome signatures on it.
So whats your favorite item and story?

southfloridamammalsfan - February 16, 2012
You have a Billy the marlin signature
That might be the greatest thing I ever read
Phinsphana - February 16, 2012
yea, its on the "old" florida marlin hat though
need him to sign my new one with the new logo
southfloridamammalsfan - February 16, 2012
Don't talk about that logo (shudder)
I mean it’s so bad, it’s not even the colors it’s that M it’s too big
Phinsphana - February 16, 2012
My favorite swag has yet to be owned.
Larry Little jersey!
Long live #66!
Tunaflipper - February 16, 2012
My favorite swag will be bought when Jerome Meesem makes the team
Phinsphana - February 16, 2012
That is the Messiah to us mortals.
Finhead83 - February 16, 2012
Ha!
texascowpunk - February 16, 2012
I have no special memorabilia...except for a Marino and Marshall jersey my mom got me
Kdog92 - February 16, 2012
Nothing wrong with that bro. A lot of people would kill to have a single jersey.
texascowpunk - February 16, 2012
Not dolphins related,
But a Miami heat 2011 eastern champions hat, signed by Erik spoelstra, LeBron, wade, bosh, chalmers, bibby, big Z, Joel Anthony, Mike Miller, udonis haslem and James jones. The only guys from last years championship team that are not on the hat are Eddie house, juwan Howard, jamaal magloire and that other really old center we had (brain fart, forgot his name). I’m going to get juwan Howard to sign I the next time I go to a game, but I’m not sure if I will be able to get the other three as they are no longer on the team.
AnishB15 - February 16, 2012 via mobile
See OFF4L for tips on getting those three sigs.
Tunaflipper - February 16, 2012
Yeah, it's going to be tough, but I want the complete team on that hat
AnishB15 - February 16, 2012 via mobile
Yeah it does not have to be Dolphins related.
texascowpunk - February 16, 2012
I have a 2008 playoff rally towel
And a signed flag from Brandon Fields, Cameron Wake, John Denney and a couple guys that didnt make the team lol
AlejandroN - February 16, 2012
Nice. You should load up this off season again when you are out there again.
texascowpunk - February 16, 2012
Yeah I should
Hopefully this time it’s a Peyton Manning or Robert Griffin autograph
AlejandroN - February 16, 2012
Griffin! If not then Flynn.
texascowpunk - February 16, 2012
Agreed!
phinsphan85 - February 16, 2012
Dolphins - Marino signed mini helmet.
Other – Nolan Ryan signed picture and Bob Knight personalized signed basketball.
Kevin Nogle - February 16, 2012
Yeah I need to get something with a Nolan sig. I saw him just a few weeks ago but he was being mobbed.
texascowpunk - February 16, 2012
I have a 1997 throwback Marino jersey autographed
I got it when I met him at the football spectacular in Edison, NJ. I was able to take a picture with him, and a few years after that I was working at Lake of Isles at Fowoods. Tony Siragusa had a charity golf tourney there and Dan played. I brought the photo and he signed it. I cooked for him and served him during the dinner buffet. I almost shit myself when he came to the carving station…hahaha.
Btw, if anyone is interested in any Phins memorabilia, I am selling a ton. I don’t have the room anymore, and I can give deals. Atlasgreek15@yahoo.com
FinzD54 - February 16, 2012 via mobile
Mine may be a Pete Stoyanovich autographed football.
I got it when I was tee-boy for the Dolphins. That’s when I got to stand next to Marino on the sideline. My parents took a picture of my jaw dropping on the jumbotron lol.
Finhead83 - February 16, 2012
I actually have a good one not Dolphins, but Miami related.
I have a signed Michael Irving Miami hat. (Da U)
Phinsphana - February 16, 2012
Rec the coolness!
Finhead83 - February 16, 2012
Sweet! Met him a couple of times. Hell of a nice guy.
texascowpunk - February 16, 2012
how do you get that twitter thing?
AlejandroN - February 16, 2012
by not wearing a condom
Tunaflipper - February 16, 2012
ROFL
Finhead83 - February 16, 2012
lmao
AlejandroN - February 16, 2012
Got to the column next to your twitter feed. At the bottom there is a gray box. Click on resources and then
click “get started” under twitter buttons. Select the bubble that says follow and then cut and paste the HTML code on the right to your sig line box here in your profile.

Cool, thanks

My signed Marino photo
I got it right after he retired. He shook my hand and told me even though he wasn’t supposed to anymore since he just retired, he signed his number as well
Easily one the greatest days of my life
Ben Bacon - February 16, 2012 via mobile
Wait...
I thought you got that when you met him on the set of Ace Ventura?
Finhead83 - February 16, 2012
I though the greatest day of your life was the day you escaped.

That's before he realized how much he missed Alpha.

i have tons of Fin stuff, but one of my best pieces is my signed Stan Mikita Blackhawks jersey...
signed in person..he goes into my g/f’s work….so I asked if he would sign a jersey, and i framed it afterwards..
zero13 - February 16, 2012
my signed marino picture mounted on a plaque, got it about 10 yrs ago at an estate sale I helped set up,
the lady running the sale was so grateful for the heavy lifting help, she said “pick something” and there it was ! (checked it on the internet, worth about $450.00) or my signed zack thomas jersey, mounted it on the wall. My most sentimental one is my very 1st jersey …. of course Dan Marino , not signed ,but I wore it till the numbers and the name started flaking and it went into a wall mount. sure wish I could get that one signed. SO much swag, and so little time …sigh .
daytonadolfan - February 16, 2012
When I was younger I had season tickets to Providence Bruins hockey games (Boston's affiliate)
Every season they had a meet and greet, get autographs from players. One of those players was Peter Laviolette. He went on to win a Calder Cup with them as a coach, then of course winning a Stanley Cup with the Hurricanes. So I still have the banner I had the team sign, including his. Pretty cool
phinsphan85 - February 16, 2012
Nice and very unique.
texascowpunk - February 16, 2012
A picture of Zach and Jason that they both signed.
I drove down from Canada in the off-season of 2007 (Cam Cameron, ughhhh) and went to the Dolphins banquet. Both of them were getting swarmed for autographs, but both took the time to talk to me. Unlike a former Linebacker who was hammered and standing by himself. (I later figured that his problem was that I was not a 20-something female in a miniskirt….not bitter)
Northern Fin Fan - February 16, 2012
Who was this former LB?
texascowpunk - February 16, 2012
Porter I bet.
Finhead83 - February 16, 2012
do I really have to say?
I idolized him when I was a teenager and I might have caught him on bad night. But I was very polite and I got laughed at when I asked to sign a football that I had brought.
Oh, on another note; Though it is not a keep-sake. I went down to Canton to watch Dan get Inducted, I was walking to hall where they were to present the Jackets. I realized in the focus to not get ran over by the masses, that I was walking beside Merllin Olsen, Given the choice, I gladly walked beside him, talked about football, and got a picture. We were late to the hall, and had to sit at the back side of the stage. One row behind Don Shula and Bill Walsh as they watched Dan and Steve Young get there jackets. I am not too star struck too often, but that day, yes, oh ya.
Northern Fin Fan - February 16, 2012
No its cool. I understand. I use to work in a job where I came across a lot of athletes and I found out that when
you tell people that this guy or that guy was a total ass it really upsets some people so on some of them I just never mention it with the exception of a couple I still can not stand.
texascowpunk - February 17, 2012
Signed Marino Ball and Jordan/Pippen/Rodman Photo and the last Chad Johnson
I’d have to say it’s a tie between my Limited edition Signed Marino football with all of his NFL records at the time listed on it, my framed photo of Jordan, Pippen & Rodman, sifned by all three, and lastly my autographed Chad Johnson Jersey. It is the last thing he signed as Chad Johnson. My best friend and old roommate is the lawyer that changed his name to Ochocinco. He signed my jersey and then went into court house to change his name. Too bad he’s changing it back, so the story loses a little luster.
stack12 - February 16, 2012
I have nothing as epic as you guys...
I don’t even rate.
I have a Marino jersey a Dolphins “terrible” towel, and a zippo type lighter with a Dolphins logo on it.
:D
Alpha6 - February 16, 2012
Nothing wrong with that. Not like Utah is a prime place to collect Phins swag.
texascowpunk - February 17, 2012
I bet it's even worse than NJ
Mostly it’s Eagles, Giants, and Jets here. If I go into large stores closer to Philly or NYC I can find something for all teams. For Utah though… Amazon.com?
I’m thinking we need to create some shirt with a Phinsider logo on it, give it to Griff, and then have him sign it with all those players he runs into. Some nice advertisement for the site and it’d be really cool…
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
I think its illegal to sell any swag that is not BYU related in Utah. Thats only a guess of course but since it will fire Alpha
up I’m going to go with it!
texascowpunk - February 17, 2012
LOL
BYU swag and Alex Smith jerseys!
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
Aaaah, my friends... lol
.. but yeah, peretty much BYU, Utah, the Jazz, Broncos, 49ers and Green Bay. Don’t ask on that last one. Oh, and the Raiders. Weird.
And yes, pretty much have to go on-line to get anything good.
I forgot to say I have two Dolphins baseball type caps also.
Alpha6 - February 17, 2012
I can send you some fine Rangers items to round out your collection!
texascowpunk - February 17, 2012
I'm kind of lucky...
We have some vendors that come to the BX every now and then with some swag. The dude will even order it for me if they don’t have it in stock. He told me he’s coming back in March with a 4×6 Dolphin rug.
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
And thats the way to get a deal too. You have to hook us up man.
texascowpunk - February 17, 2012
That'd be no problem.
It’s all tax free and I can get a ton of items. If people just let me know what they’d like I could easily get quotes and ship them out. I’ve bought signs, blankets, gnomes, mugs, rugs, mugs/glasses, and a bunch of stuff from him. He sells mini helmets, car seat covers, mats, grill supples (burgers w/Dolphin logo), car mats, and all kinds of stuff. I think he can get full size helmets as well and he hooked me up with a dude that does certificates of authenticity for signed items. I forgot that he’s bringing me the grill supplies too in March. I’m pretty much trying to get anything I can.
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
Oh I know about the deals. My dependent military ID expired when I was like 22. Up till then
I would go on to Carswell to shop all the time. Also bought a ton of stuff on the Navy Base when I was down there a few years back. Was working disaster relief and supervised the rebuilding of many of the buildings on the bases that were damaged by the hurricane. My family has had the place in Long Key forever and we have always made little day trips down to Key West but never thought it would be a fun place to live. Man was I wrong! It does get a bit crazy but the locals are great and it’s so laid back day to day.
texascowpunk - February 17, 2012
You got all the fun places...
I got the Mojave Desert in California (north side of 29 Palms and adjacent to Death Valley) and then lovely NJ…
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
LOL Well I started in New Orleans after Katrina and somehow got out with my life.
texascowpunk - February 17, 2012
I vote we let Finhead use his ID card to buy from the BX and resell to us... lmao
Alpha6 - February 17, 2012
Do we have to vote on obvious things?
texascowpunk - February 17, 2012
Buying from the BX and giving it to Dolphin fans in exchange for monetary donations makes it seem more legit.
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
I got an authentic Marino jersey for my 10th bday
It was April 1994, so the jersey has the 75th anniversary patch on it.
kmb8488 - February 16, 2012
That's the jersey I have signed by him.
Finhead83 - February 16, 2012
You were 10 in '94 also?!
Alpha6 - February 16, 2012
For most of it...
Born in 83!
Finhead83 - February 16, 2012
Oh, thought you said 84.
Finhead83 - February 16, 2012
Wait, nevermind.
I am so out of it… Yes, I was 10 and 11 in ’94.
Finhead83 - February 16, 2012
Sweet!
texascowpunk - February 17, 2012
i also forgot, i have an Andy Warhol autograph that i got from him personally at a museum in NYC when i was 6 years old. worth a lot of $!!!
FinzD54 - February 16, 2012 via mobile
Yeah thats HUGE dude!
Amazing!
texascowpunk - February 17, 2012
Favourite memorabillia items
For my 40th birthday my wife purchased for me two Miami Superbowl rings. The 1972 ring which belonged to Charlie Leigh and a 1973 ring which belonged to Otto Stowe. The beauty of having the Leigh ring is the fact that before he played with the Dolphins he had played for my hometown team, the Ottawa Rough Riders in the CFL. Mr. Leigh had passed away and his family put the ring up for sale. Otto Stowe had financial difficulties and put his ring up for sale.
I have been a life long Dolphin fan and I have both of these ringsa in a very secure display case in my home. I will cherish these rings as long as I am alive.
Brian
Mahovlich27 - February 16, 2012
Wow!
texascowpunk - February 17, 2012
That would be an awesome gift...
I remember seeing all those rings on display in Canton and I must say you’re a very lucky man.
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
Thanks
Indeed I am a lucky man.
Mahovlich27 - February 17, 2012
Got a signed and framed Larry Csonka jersey
found it. Imagine that.
Little Nicky 21 - February 16, 2012
Hey Nicky, I'm using putting your phrases in good use
This girl I used to talk to and um stuff, she texted me last week telling me she had a bf now and that he’s protective. So I shouldn’t text her or anything anymore… I replied “Lol”… She got so pissed and kept texting me asking me things, though she just told me we shouldn’t talk or anything anymore
phinsphan85 - February 16, 2012
forgot to delete "using"
phinsphan85 - February 16, 2012
nice! lol
and remember, there’s a difference between “boyfriend” and “husband.”
Boyfriend means try harder
Husband means come back in 6 months lol
Little Nicky 21 - February 16, 2012
LOL
Well i also told her you forget the word “over” when she said he was “protective”. Gosh I always hated that nonsense, some guys think they own a girl right away. The worst is when the chicks actually allow themselves to be “owned”. Anywhoo what’s up? I’m still praying we don’t sign Flynn
phinsphan85 - February 16, 2012
agreed
I love over-protective boyfriends. So easy to make them look like assholes in front of their girlfriends. like stupid easy.
And yes, Flynn is garbage. Manning had another super secret neck surgery. If we don’t make a move for Griffin, when the move is sitting there waiting to be made, I will be piiiiiissed
Little Nicky 21 - February 16, 2012
btw
where’s the CKC?
Little Nicky 21 - February 16, 2012
I love how anyone can make a CKC in like 30 seconds but instead they go around asking "Where is the CKC?".
texascowpunk - February 17, 2012
But with his stubby little fingers, it'd take him like 20 minutes to reach the 75 word count.
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
CKC is the one place where you can get around the word count limit and not have your post taken
down because it is understood that it is either deleted or hidden early the next day.
texascowpunk - February 17, 2012
You're always ruining my theories! lol
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
... just have a smoke with him. It'll all be alright.
lol
Alpha6 - February 17, 2012
lol
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
Well at least if the Skins take Manning, that's hopefully one less competitor for RG 3
and I guess this is the CKC, it’s late enough lol. Live threads tend to morph into them
phinsphan85 - February 16, 2012
it's dead though..
it must be the doldrums
Little Nicky 21 - February 16, 2012
lol "Flynn is garbage"
I just don’t understand why so many want him here more than draft one. It’s the definition of insanity for sure. Signing someone else’s back up.
phinsphan85 - February 16, 2012
same crowd that wanted Kolb or Caleb Hanie (lol) last season
it’s ridiculous.

I always find a way to piss girls off. I love love love when they fish for compliments on facebook. “Should I wear makeup?” followed by 9 comments from random guys saying “no you don’t need it you have natural beauty.” followed by me coming in with “yes” and creating an incident lol
Little Nicky 21 - February 16, 2012

phinsphan85 - February 16, 2012

We’re Italians is obvious….

We should start, um, a family.... lol

lol I have a feeling we'll need to protect you quite often around here
The Matt Moore/ Flynn fans are coming with pitchfawks!
phinsphan85 - February 16, 2012

Little Nicky 21 - February 16, 2012
HA!
Henry Hill: All they got from Paulie was protection from other guys looking to rip them off. That’s what it’s all about. That’s what the FBI can never understand – that what Paulie and the organization offer is protection for the kinds of guys who can’t go to the cops. They’re like the police department for wiseguys.
texascowpunk - February 17, 2012
Now you have just grouped yourself together with Alpha. Think of the implications!
texascowpunk - February 17, 2012
Greatness? Notoriety? Smiles? and oh yes, we have a monkey.
Alpha6 - February 17, 2012
LOL
What’s even better is that I get instigate and sometimes drag you into it, but still stay clear of being lumped in with you. I don’t have the history quite like you to have the reputation quite yet. It’s nice to be able to play both sides!
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
Yes, we hear some of the suits play both sides...
and then have a cigarette. LOL
Alpha6 - February 17, 2012

Finhead83 - February 16, 2012
lol
I hope you win 0 mattys
Little Nicky 21 - February 16, 2012
chuckle...
Tunaflipper - February 17, 2012
LOL
I’m not holding high expectations!
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
This usually happens because Nicky is so busy hording them for himself.
texascowpunk - February 17, 2012
I doubt it, but it just felt right to say it...
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
You are a guy, I think, because you always claim to be but............its so easy to convince everyone else otherwise.
Not to mention quite a bit of fun. Now we just need another epic 2,000 comment post to make another “Nicky” is a girl announcement in. The best part is how you are always here for a day or two and then gone for a few. It gives a good fake rumor about you time to really grow some legs and get going before you show up and freak out. Good times!
texascowpunk - February 17, 2012
Which is exactly my goal lol.
I will be satisfied when we get some new poster here that refers to Nicky as a woman or says “I always thought Nicky was a girl.” Silly goals I set for myself, but I must achieve…
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
You missed it. We started the rumor once and it took off like wildfire. Nick was away for like 3 days and
when he came back his reaction was the best part of the entire gag.
texascowpunk - February 17, 2012
LOL
I bet he was screaming at everyone and cursed whoever started it.
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
LOL No I have to give Nick some props because all in all he takes the ribbing rather well considering
the beating he takes here.
texascowpunk - February 17, 2012
Found it as in I found it hanging on the wall of the house I broke in to?
texascowpunk - February 17, 2012
He snuck into Csonka's locker stall back in the day and pretended to be a bobblehead.
When the team left the facility, he made his move.
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
Was Nick even alive when he played?
texascowpunk - February 17, 2012
Doubt it, but it felt like the right thing to say...
Finhead83 - February 17, 2012
I have a 94 world series baseball still in the box. Remember that was the year of the strike so no series

Why so much interest in my balls?
DPHIN - February 17, 2012 via mobile
Its Alpha.
texascowpunk - February 17, 2012
Just got a hat signed last week by OJ McDuffie, Troy Drayton and Twan Russell.
GrizFinsFan - February 17, 2012
A little late to the party, but
I have a Roberto Clemente rookie card graded at a PSA 8. He was my boyhood idol.
Dolphins related — have a limited edition pic of Marino commemorating his HOF induction which is my favorite item. Also have the 2 Super Bowl wins on VHS tape.
