Roster Analysis: A look at the Miami Dolphins’ free agents and whether they will return in 2012 | The Daily Dolphin
Today, we take a look at the Dolphins’ own free agents, and whether or not they will be returning to Miami next year.
Free agents could bring right age, salary to Miami
So the Dolphins did some things in free agency that were beyond the parameters of the approach they themselves had set down in previous years. That makes predicting what they do going forward more difficult.

Not sure I entirely agree with Mando on the free agents to bring in, but still an interesting read. Mario Williams would be a great FA signing, but I think we address DE in the draft.

If I see Mondo come along and back up one of my beliefs my first reaction is to then question it all.
texascowpunk - February 14, 2012
LOL
Yeah, do the opposite of Mondo = better formula for success.

I just want to say I met Jeff Ireland.
Stats407 - February 14, 2012 via mobile
When and what did you tell him we wanted?
texascowpunk - February 14, 2012
This past weekend at the Monster Jam.
He’s a very classy and respectable person.
He was with his 2 sons and he took a couple minutes out of his time to speak with me.
Lol, although he had trouble getting through the tunnel because of the security guards.
I was like you don’t know who that is?
I’m like he’s the GM of the Phins.
He smiled and said thanks…
He didn’t have his all access band which is white and orange. I asked him so who are we getting for the first round? Jeff said dont worry, you’ll love him!

"Don't worry, you'll love him!"
Great…another offensive linemen. LOL
say_it_aint_so_JT - February 14, 2012
But eventually we will be able to rush for like 400 yards a game.
texascowpunk - February 14, 2012
lol...
Alpha6 - February 14, 2012
Not that I think thats real but you have to admit that would be amazing. That would make D coordinators crap themselves.
texascowpunk - February 14, 2012
You know what would make D coordinators crap themselves? A franchise QB
say_it_aint_so_JT - February 14, 2012
Sometimes. Some are cocky and think they can handle them and sometimes they do.
texascowpunk - February 14, 2012
True, but how many Super Bowls in the last 20 years were won without a franchise QB?
I can think of only one: Baltimore with Trent Dilfer; and they had a heck of a defense.
This generation’s NFL is all about the QB and the passing game.
say_it_aint_so_JT - February 14, 2012
I was not suggesting that you could without one. It was all very tongue in cheek.
texascowpunk - February 14, 2012
Mark Rypien? Doug Williams?
lol
Alpha6 - February 14, 2012
Lol, I hope not. If he didn't have his kids with him, I would've drilled him with questions.
Too bad, I was on the clock. Im part of the track crew and I only had a 15 min. Intermission between the freestyle race.
But im off to Jville in 2 weeks.
Im back home in Orlando.

Sorry double post. I have a new phone. Im trying to figure it out. My old phone got rained on and I had to get a new one. Im very pussed bc I lost all my pics of the locker room and other stuff.
Stats407 - February 14, 2012 via mobile
Oh that blows.
texascowpunk - February 14, 2012
Yeah that sucks!
However, the phone sales man told me to put my old phone in a ziploc bag of rice for three days and I might be able to recover it.
Jeff has that IT factor I see why Ross likes him.
Swag, he’s cool and confident.
Stats407 - February 14, 2012 via mobile
Yeah thats true of the rice trick.
texascowpunk - February 14, 2012
Yeah, it works for the most part.
My 1-year-old daughter dropped my son’s phone in the dog’s water bowl. We used the rice trick, but the screen is still a little messed up.
say_it_aint_so_JT - February 14, 2012
Yeah it depends on a lot of things like how long it was in the water and how long until you placed it in the water.
Also the type of phone.
texascowpunk - February 14, 2012
... very what?!! pussed?!!
Either you were trying to say you’re weak and a sissy;
or you have a very global infection….
Alpha6 - February 14, 2012
Lol, *pissed.
Stats407 - February 14, 2012 via mobile
Now you piseed yourself from laughing?!
Dude.. you got problems.

Would you guys be opposed trading down an getting Luke kuechly
How about a LB corps of Burnett, kuechly and dansby? I’m working on a fanpost and I wanted thoughts. Also, nick perry, Andre branch, Whitney mercilus or Fletcher cox?
AnishB15 - February 14, 2012 via mobile
No to Kuechly for one reason only...
I don’t like drafting a MLB that high, especially when we have a bigger need at pass rushing DE. Kuechly would be a great pick, but I’m not for it.
With that said, I wouldn’t mind Perry, Branch, or Mercilus. I know at least one person on this site will disagree with me on Mercilus, but the guy has tons of upside, more prototypical size for the position, and is the best pure pass rusher in this draft. He did all of this at Illinois…let that sink in…Illinois.
Perry and Branch would be good picks too. I’m not sure about Fletcher Cox. We are pretty deep at DT, which is where he would play in a 4-3 (that will be our formation next season).
say_it_aint_so_JT - February 14, 2012
^^^^ All of this assumes your TRADE DOWN scenario ^^^^
say_it_aint_so_JT - February 14, 2012
cox?
Alpha6 - February 14, 2012
Fletcher even... lol
