The first weekend of the NFL's 2011-2012 Playoffs concludes with the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Denver Broncos. The Steelers come into this game having compiled the second best record in the AFC this year at 12-4, but fell behind the Baltimore Ravens in tie breakers, making the Steelers the top Wild Card team. Meanwhile, the Broncos slipped into the playoffs as the NFL's only postseason team without a winning record, winning the AFC West with an 8-8 record.
But, the story of the game will be Tim Tebow. Tebow came out of training camp as the third quarterback on the depth chart, but when the team faltered behind Kyle Orton, Tebow was elevated to the starter. Tebow carried the team to a 7-4 record over the final 11 weeks of the year, and, despite losing their last three games, the AFC West crown.
The Tebow Time magic that so dominated the quarterback's early performance seems to have disappeared, and, if the Broncos are going to have any chance to beat Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers, they will need it to return in a hurry.
Enjoy the game!

wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
And I'm embarrassed that Tebow and the Broncos have done more than we did in 2008...
hbkDolphins - January 8, 2012
I thought Denver was going to get shut out in this game?
I thought Tebow wasn’t going to complete a pass?
Someone should tell Denver that they aren’t suppose to win because it will upset so many people. :)
ct1361 - January 8, 2012
Broncos defense is too good for a hobbled Ben + no run game
Though Brady will feast if they make it there.
hbkDolphins - January 8, 2012
Broncos Defense has nothing to do with the Broncos Offense marching down the field on the Pittsburgh Defense for 2 TD's.

the games almost over dont get to far ahead!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012

I picked denver
southfloridamammalsfan - January 8, 2012
wow .... Tim Tebow!!
Jason Scott_90 - January 8, 2012
Roethlisberger is playing on one leg practically....
Which is why Tebow is as overrated as Mark Sanchez.
hbkDolphins - January 8, 2012
Tebow isn't on the field when ben is..
Just saying
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
Oh herd this already!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
I don't think many are overrating Sanchez these days.
MMANDIA - January 8, 2012
LOL Check my last tweet!
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
lmao, true dat
daytonadolfan - January 8, 2012
FYI,
The most overrated guy in the whole NFL is probably Troy Polamalu
MMANDIA - January 8, 2012
Whoa
Lets not be ridiculous now..
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
Who then?
MMANDIA - January 8, 2012
Aaron Rodgers?
If his backup can come in and throw for almost 500 yds and 6 TDs… maybe he is not carrying that team as much as everyone is saying … I would say they have a whole lot of talent there and he is the beneficiary of it all.
Jason Scott_90 - January 8, 2012
I know I am going to get some hate for daring to say that ...
Jason Scott_90 - January 8, 2012
Scorn perhaps but not hate.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
I did not say he wasn't any good... but I am just not willing to say they went 15-1 all because of him
Jason Scott_90 - January 8, 2012
Of course not all because of him
But they don’t get there without him. He’s got weapons, but he is the most dangerous weapon
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
Changing my pick ...
Revis is still the most overrated player in the NFL…
Jason Scott_90 - January 8, 2012
People on this blog think Matt Moore is a franchise guy
In the entire league, hard to say. Polamalu is one of the all-time greats. He has had some concussions, but that doesn’t make him overrated. Asomugha may have been way overrated this year..
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
we almost over paid for his services!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
Revis is WAY OVERRATED...
I am changing my pick …. REVIS
Jason Scott_90 - January 8, 2012
this!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
Ehh
Revis is the best corner in football, even if he is a dirty jet
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
chyt he goats QB's to throw until he get help over the top he aint chyt!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
Lol he's the best in the game
It’s not debatable
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
It is highly debatable ...
He is not that physically talented. BM had it right .. The guy gets the Jordan treatment and gets to put his hands all over our WRs. I saw a clip where Davone Bess beat him because he couldn’t get a hand on him. I am not impressed. People that say he is better than Deion are just plain stupid.
Jason Scott_90 - January 8, 2012
He's not better than Deion
But remember the rules Deion played under were much friendlier towards defenders. Marshall can say what he wants, but Revis isn’t getting special treatment, he’s just really good..
I can’t believe I’m having this argument..
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
He cheats & the reffs don't call any thing against him!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
Untrue
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
chyt he pulled a miami player in the first meeting got the interseption the reffs said nuthing!

spucificly!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
spucificly!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
I really don't understand how anyone could detract from how good Revis is.
The man is incredible. He is playing in a league that highly favors offensive football, especially through the air, yet the man can play against any receiver no matter their skill sets or body type in man coverage. No only is he the best corner no matter the coverage in the NFl by a signifigant margin but he consistanty in press man coverage can wipe away the best receivers in the game no matter theri skill sets.
Also you used this Davone Bess comment in another post but it has no validity. What game are you talking about?? Revis matched up almost all game on Marshall in both games thsi season, last season Revis only played the second game in New York (he was hurt for the Sunday Night Game in Week 3) and Marshall didn’t play i nthat second game. They matched Revis up in press man coverage for 4 quarters on Bess and despite Nickel not being his natural position and Being a physical corner who should have inherent problems with a receiver of Bess’ style and caliber he anniliated him. He held Bess to 1 catch for 6 yards!!!!!!!! Do you understand how incredible that is in todays NFL, never mind that he does things like this consistantly and against all different types of receiver?
In 2009 he didnt get virtually any reps on Bess so i don’t know what you are talking about and I can’t believe anyone believes that Revis is overrated. The man is going to be a first ballot hall of famer.
civwarbuff - January 8, 2012
Revis's only weakness is a speedy WR that is very good at beating the jam.
Steve Smith beat him badly many times when Delhomme was the QB. Smith would have had 2 TDs on Revis in the same game if Delhomme was accurate at all. The INT Revis had in the Game was because Delhomme threw it 5 yds behind Smith. Smith is incredible.
PotM - January 8, 2012
Revis also struggles against Marshall
The Earl - January 8, 2012
And vice versa
They have really good battles
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
PotM sometimes you make things up! The last time the AFC East played the NFC South was 2009.
In that game where Revis covered Steve Smith in press man for virtually the entire contest Steve Smitth had one reception fo 5 yards and no touchdownshttp://www.nfl.com/player/stevesmith/2504595/gamelogs?season=2009
Revis recorded 3 passes defensed including two interceptions one of which was returned for a Touchdown.
The only type of receiver that can give revis any trouble is a receiver that has enough strength and physicality to out position him when the ball is in the air. Revis is too fast to be beat with speed, he is technically superb and he can close virtually any space so its almost impossibel to get a release on him. He has as good lateral quickness as any receiver in football and his recovery spped is amazing. The only receivers who can give him problems are those smart enough, fast enough and most importantly strong enough to dominate where revis wants to put his hands and how he uses his body to box people out. If you can’t match his physicality blow fro blow he will wipe you out.
Hence his amazing battles with Marshall and the Johnson’s. Yet he can still hold his own against those players. The man is incredible. The best cornerback in the game by a wide margin.
civwarbuff - January 9, 2012
It’s not the poor kids fault. Years of eating paint chips and huffing gas have left him impaired.
texascowpunk - January 9, 2012
I'm totaly dis agreeing with this statement!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
He is good...
But he is not great. He is a product of the system… he did not have as good a season as he has in years past because their defense hasn’t been as good since they lost Ellis to NE. Did you even know who Revis was before Rex Ryan called him the best in the NFL? Be honest … no one here knew him … and he played us 2x a year…
Jason Scott_90 - January 8, 2012
Lol yes I knew him
He was making a case as the best in the business the year before rex got there. He’s a legitimate stud. I understand we’re supposed to hate the jets, but let’s call a spade a spade. Revis is a top notch CB
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
You didn't know who Revis was until Rex Ryan took the Head Coaching position i nNew York
Are you kidding me?
civwarbuff - January 9, 2012
For every great play he makes he misses about 3 easy ones.
Everytime I see that guy he’s just flopping around out there. If he stayed on his feet occasionally he’d be an all time great.
MMANDIA - January 8, 2012
Who? Polamalu?
Stop it
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
Yep, Polamalu. Can't do it man.
He’s not THAT great. Taylor was twice the player TP ever was. He’s a glorified OLB.
MMANDIA - January 8, 2012
Sean Taylor?
I agree with that. He was perhaps the greatest physical specimen in the league. He was on his way to being the best safety in history, I’m convinced of that. But that doesn’t make polamalu overrated…
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
Agree to disagree.
Make a post when he makes a good play and I’ll make a post when he dorks out. We’ll tally em’ up after the game.
Your assessment of Sean Taylor is spot on. Would’ve been the GoAT.
MMANDIA - January 8, 2012
Lol
Sure.. You make a post when he gets voted into the hall too..
Sure.. You make a post when he gets voted into the hall too..Might as well call Ed Reed overrated while you’re at..
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
I know he'll be in the hall. A couple of rings will do that to a guy.
I’d never call Reed overrated. He’s one of our own. Oh, and leaps and bounds ahead of TP.
MMANDIA - January 8, 2012
Troy Pa is not overrated!!!!
Take it back!!!!! Just kidding. But not really.
PhinsAllDay - January 8, 2012 via mobile
Oh, Matty Ice.
Forgot about him. Look at the team around him, every bit as talented as GB.
MMANDIA - January 8, 2012
Can we overrate the whole Steeler Defense?
PhinsAllDay - January 8, 2012 via mobile
Troy is way past his prime, hes feeling his age!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
I had the Texans but changed to cincy when i saw the hat!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
so I was looking at Matt Flynn...
Honestly guys I do not see it… I see an amazing team, surrounding a QB that made a few OK throws… I do not see a franchise QB. He is a system QB… but we don’t have that system…
Jason Scott_90 - January 8, 2012
He's AJ Feeley
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app

i'm going to hell for that... and probably a few other things as well !
daytonadolfan - January 8, 2012
You will be among friends, like me.
Dolfan88 - January 8, 2012

daytonadolfan - January 8, 2012
I will be there with you guy. I will bring the beer!
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012

daytonadolfan - January 8, 2012
Yeah I hate the cold so my version of hell will probably have plenty.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
Yeah last 4-5 nites have been below 60 suxed!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
Yeah, but the days have been nice. 77 today here.
Dolfan88 - January 8, 2012
just the last two!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
Yes but it's going to stay in the mid 70 all week.
Dolfan88 - January 8, 2012
ty!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
LOL Thats warm. We wont get out of the 40's for the next few.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
Outch got the windows oppen rite know!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
It'd better warm up down there.
I’m flying down to Orlando tomorrow night. It’s illegal for Fla to be colder than Wa.
MMANDIA - January 8, 2012
ha ha , we'll try to keep the thermostat up for ya !
daytonadolfan - January 8, 2012
Lmao!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
Good, I told my buddy he'd have to come up here if I saw a 20 or 30 something in the forecast.
MMANDIA - January 8, 2012
Burrhh!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
So much for global warming.
I don’t ever remember owning a jacket when I lived in Florida.
MMANDIA - January 8, 2012
Yeah it freezes there from time to time and always has.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
This a lot of watering of plants!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
been here all my life and had more than a few ice cycles
hanging off the truck, every few years or so
daytonadolfan - January 8, 2012
Yeah I can remember being in Miami and all the fruit trees being covered
in ice.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
Ugh.
It only freezes time to time here too. I’ll definitely take my chances there.
MMANDIA - January 8, 2012
last year in Jan it put ice on the ground!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
Week after Christmas last year
It hit 30 in Miami. I was in the keys freezing. No heat in the place I was staying.
Dolfan88 - January 8, 2012
One of the coldest days I can remember is a day that I spent in Key West.
Way too many times in the Keys as a whole but I spent a lot of my childhood on Long Key.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
2 years ago ,I was in the keys at thanksgiving, 45 deg.'s with 20 m.p.h. winds
that sucked , but it was only one day.
daytonadolfan - January 8, 2012
I would take 20 degrees here over 45 in the keys any day.
Something about that moist air that makes it seem like hell.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
outch stay warm!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
It was horrible, lol , I had to go buy a jacket
cuz who takes winter clothes to the keys !!!
daytonadolfan - January 8, 2012
I am with you. I have been there. Spent many holidays in the Keys.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
O geezy yer rite!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
unning!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
How can the ice caps be melting?
I’ll take your avg. temp over mine any day of the year except September.
MMANDIA - January 8, 2012
Because the earths overall average temp goes up each year.
This of course throws overall weather patters off. The debate is not if global warming exists as 100% of scientist agree that is true. The cause is what has them split 95 to 5 percent.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
I have seen studies that say that the overall global temperature
hasn’t risen as much as “scientists” say and has the earth has actually experienced cooling.
The Earl - January 8, 2012
All the air conditioning
Most likely
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
tell me that in august, lol
daytonadolfan - January 8, 2012
Nature show ice water-lakes sink to the bottum & cut glaciers away from the bottum up!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
Well if an overwhelming percentage of scientist say one thing
then I will go with that and not let politics interfere with my science.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
Except politics is interfering
The reason most of these studies never see much light of day is because it affects the political agenda of global warming.
And something else that NEVER gets talked about is that the sun is the largest factor in global climate. When the sun experiences minimums and maximums, the earth feels the difference. The majority of global warming can be attributed to the sun’s behavior. But no one ever talks about that, because that affects the political agenda.
The Earl - January 8, 2012
and the sun has better lawyers!
daytonadolfan - January 8, 2012
truly... lol
The Earl - January 8, 2012
Bottom line is that the council of scientist that they all belong
to have agreed that the earth has gotten warmer each and every year since the 50’s. They do not need “studies” to prove fact when a recorded temp is a fact. The MAJORITY of scientist agree on this.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
yep!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
the majority of scientists that you hear about
the ones that disagree get swept under the carpet by those who don’t want any contrary opinions.
It is a terrible misconception that science and scientists are infallible. Most of the time it doesn’t matter. But in certain cases, like in origins of life discussions, whenever science says something against the popular opinion, it gets dismissed by those who don’t want it.
The fact is that there is strong evidence out there that speaks against global warming. But no one sees it because of the politics involved.
The Earl - January 8, 2012
I'm not saying I agree or disagree
It’s just that evidence is getting ignored due to politics. The true science is being forgotten because it doesn’t fit a certain agenda.
The Earl - January 8, 2012
Also if you look at the majority of those stuides and
they do get published and shown in the media by outlets such as Faux news, most every one of those so called studies were conducted with monies from who? Go look up the facts behind the so called facts and you will find names like Exxon Mobil and Warehouser to mention just a couple of the notable names.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
There are studies published in reputable scientific journals
that suggest that evidence. I rarely trust anything that comes from a major media news source and they are all biased.
The Earl - January 8, 2012
Links?
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
I'll have to dig them up...
I don’t have them bookmarked or anything.
The Earl - January 8, 2012
Oh and the fact that one side of the politcal
spectrum could “hide” anything that is readily available in this day and age of the internet is bunk.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
I have MUCH less faith in the gov't than you do
as I think we are moving to an era where things that go against the state will begin to be censored.
And the politicians don’t have to hide anything, they just have to convince the masses that what they are saying is right. The majority of people will never look for themselves. If the government said the moon was made of green cheese and got a few crooked scientists to agree, most people would just agree.
The Earl - January 8, 2012
I was part of that government directly
or indirectly for years. I know things are not perfect and can always be made better but there is always going to be things that need to be corrected in any organization of any size.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
I really don't care that much about the global warming stuff
other than from a science POV. I wish more people would talk about the sun’s impact in climate.
The Earl - January 8, 2012
Also the hole in the ozone
layer is directly over Australia. Everyone agrees that the hole is man made. Guess who has the highest Asthma rate in the world by a giant percent? Basically the same thing that they say causes one causes the other. You know what the right thing to do would be? To enact laws to try and reverse this but instead because it is not politically people suffer and die so others can prosper. I am sure thats what Jesus had in mind.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
Please, Jesus
was not a capitalist.
PotM - January 8, 2012
No Jesus was a socialist.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
he was neither
The Earl - January 8, 2012
Well he would be labeled one
now days with all the healing of the sick and the feeding of the poor and the loving people that were not like him.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
Well I would wager...
that the majority of people in power don’t care about what Jesus or any other figure says about suffering. They only care about one thing: themselves.
My favorite line in all of the Matrix movies: “What do all men with power want? More power.”
The Earl - January 8, 2012
See theres where I agree with
you Duke. The one thing that comes to mind when some of these politicians are spouting hate based on the Bible is that they are for sure not thinking of WWJD!
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
While I care about the moral level of the countries leaders
I doubt very many of them could be considered true Christians, simply based on their behavior.
The Earl - January 8, 2012
most politicians pray to one god......$$$$$$$$$$
daytonadolfan - January 8, 2012
If we didn't label the
congressman as powerful VIPs, I think a lot of this could be solved.
PotM - January 8, 2012
term limit's are about the only way to curb it
and even that won’t stop it all.
daytonadolfan - January 8, 2012
Campaing reform laws would
help and also and amendment that says corps are not people.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
How can they be?
They aren’t biological animals!
PotM - January 8, 2012
Neither are robots
Are you saying robots can’t vote? ROBOTS ARE PEOPLE TOO
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
The supreme court ruled that
they were. Thus the amendment being batted around.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
I know
PotM - January 8, 2012
And I do not really base who I vote for
based on whether or not they say they are Christian or whatever. For example, unless Mitt Romney is going to come down with some kind of law saying everyone must become a Mormon, I couldn’t care less about his religious affiliation. While there are some affiliations that would scare me, most would not.
The Earl - January 8, 2012
Well, that is because we
make senators celebrities, where in England they are seen as average Joes.
PotM - January 8, 2012
I have much less faith in state gov't than
you do.
PotM - January 8, 2012
Well pot you live in Fl so......
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
Exactly
PotM - January 8, 2012
ugghhhhhhhhh , yeah , great gov. we have
as good as your’s tex , lol
daytonadolfan - January 8, 2012
LOL No worries I am super
pissed at the Tx legislature right now.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
LOL Look at it this way if its political George Bush
says its true and Romney who will be the next candidate says its true and both base this belief on having seen all the government data. Who says its not true? Hmmm Sara Palin and Rick Perry. I will stick with the truth!
Another thought. The ones that choose to believe it is 100% not true have something to gain from it financially. Its the other side that made science a political talking point not the ones that believe in it. Somehow this is ONLY an issue in the US but of course since we believe that we are so superior to others around the world we must be right and everyone else is wrong.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
I also trust nothing a politican says
Think about it like this: If evidence was presented that said global warming wasn’t happening or that the source said it wasn’t man-made, who stands to lose by that? Everyone who has a vested interest in promoting “green”. So if you are a politician who has invested time and money into promoting global warming, and evidence comes out saying you were wrong, wouldn’t you do everything in your power to shut them up?
The Earl - January 8, 2012
I will never understand how anyone can argue
against the green movement. How can taking care of the earth vs. slowly destroying it be against anyone’s beliefs? How is doing the right thing a political talking point? I worked directly with the EPA for years and saw many things and you know what? Even if the earth is not getting warmer things are bad and getting worse. Are there a few regs that I have seen that I dont get? Sure a very few but most were sound and had purpose that protected people, animals and lives. So for me when I hear politicians saying that the EPA has too much power and should be curtailed or done away with I am mortified and pissed. Not only as someone that has seen what the truth is first hand but as a human-being, a father and a Christian. My soul will not let me side with the other side. No matter how much they hold up their Bibles. Just sayin’!
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
I'm not saying anything about the green movement
as the Bible would say that taking care of the earth would be the right thing to do. But if someone who has been saying “The earth is warming! The earth is warming!” comes across someone who says “Nope, you are wrong.”, the person who was proven wrong will do anything and everything they can not to look stupid. Politicians do it all the time.
The Earl - January 8, 2012
But the sad thing to me is that there is
evidence that something is going on and the cause is the primary debate. Basically if it were addressed it would mean a better world for all of us but that wont happen because it will cost too many powerful people some of their profits and we cant have that even if it is the morally sound thing to do.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
And would save millions.
PotM - January 8, 2012
I'm not sure, but I think the sun is about to start a new phase
of increased activity, meaning we will probably experience a hotter climate. Yet no one will talk about that. That’s the real science that gets ignored by the media.
The Earl - January 8, 2012
Well, isn't the Sun on ten year
cycles of increased and decreased activity?
PotM - January 8, 2012
It's 11 year cycles of sunspots
and I’m not sure if we are going into a minimum or a maximum. If we are going into a minimum, then we should expect slightly lower overall global temps. If it’s a maximum, then we’ll experience slightly higher temps.
The Earl - January 8, 2012
temps depending on the level of solar output of course
The Earl - January 8, 2012
How is that getting ignored by the
media? I fear that you are ill informed as I have seen plenty on this. Also if you don’t follow the media how would you know one way or the other?
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
Well, he could just be keeping track
of mins and maxs on his computer.
PotM - January 8, 2012
Stop pot.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
Actually I do read stuff about solar activity
strictly from the science point of view.
The Earl - January 8, 2012
That a line you're running on?
PotM - January 8, 2012
I follow some media
but I don’t think they are talking about it enough.
The Earl - January 8, 2012
Oh darn you and your knowledge.
MMANDIA - January 8, 2012
now if we can just get beav to bring the pond bunnies, it might be bearable !
daytonadolfan - January 8, 2012

Dolfan88 - January 8, 2012
Referees
In my almost 40 years of watching football, I can’t remember so many bad calls in one weekend of playoff football !!!
miamimike71 - January 8, 2012
That's BS! The refs need to let the play develop!!!!!!!
Rytackle - January 8, 2012
The refs suck this year, this hitting a defensless WR crap is so stupid
Rytackle - January 8, 2012
I take that back
Rytackle - January 8, 2012
Yeah I agree
We should just let 200 lb guided missiles running faster than 99.9% of humans in existence just hit another human in the head..
Brilliant, lets kill people on the field. Or better yet have them kill themselves after they retire because of brain damage..
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
Listen NFL players get paid A LOT of money, they understand the risks of playing this game.
You wouldn’t give a cop a gun and be like “oh we won’t send you to that bank heist because it’s too dangerous”
It’s part of the job.
Don’t get me wrong, hit’s to the head should be enforced, but I’ve seen some BAD defenseless receiver calls this year.
Rytackle - January 8, 2012
Lol @ ref conspiracies
Really guys?
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
I don't think there's any "conspiracies"
But the call at the end of the MIA Pittsburgh game in 2010 comes to mind…
DolfanVince86 - January 8, 2012 via iPhone app
Not in the NFL. NBA, that's a whole different conversation.

Bullshit
Just like the Lions, the Broncos got screwed out of a fumble and points !
miamimike71 - January 8, 2012

When we played the steelers in 2010. Happens all the time with Pittsburgh apparently…
DolfanVince86 - January 8, 2012 via iPhone app

Agree. And you have to give him credit- it’s in his first playoff game against the #1 defense in the NFL .
miamimike71 - January 8, 2012
that was a nice play, but they got the penalty
senelcoolidge - January 8, 2012
Two score game
PhinsAllDay - January 8, 2012 via mobile

daytonadolfan - January 8, 2012
this is a pretty good game
senelcoolidge - January 8, 2012
At least one of them is a good game this weekend.
When was the last time all the home teams won during Wildcard Weekend? I can’t remember.
ct1361 - January 8, 2012
2006 season playoffs. Remember Seattle hung on through the Extra point fiasco as 4th seed
Philly beat the Giants as the 3 seed, Indy over KC (the famous shutting the Chiefs running game down game despite having the worst run defense in the league that season) and going on to win the Superbowl and the Pats over the Jets as 4th seed.
2006 season playoffs.
civwarbuff - January 8, 2012
Sad thing is, the patriots will destroy Denver next week unless
the Bronco D can step up and Tebow has a PERFECT game
Rytackle - January 8, 2012
This game
But everybody said that about THIS game too.
miamimike71 - January 8, 2012
well, rottenbereger being hobbled , isn't helping , but still no excuse !
daytonadolfan - January 8, 2012
This team features a team with a QB that is not 100%. That makes a huge difference for Pitt.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
Ben
Ben doesn’t play defense and he got away with a fumble as well.
miamimike71 - January 8, 2012
Broncos D doing a fantastic Dolphin impression....
Rytackle - January 8, 2012
LOL. Glad I wasn't the only one thinking this.
ct1361 - January 8, 2012
I don't know why when teams get up 2 scores in the 4th Quarter, they decide to stop playing their normal defense.
ct1361 - January 8, 2012
Which is a change, because every team that has gone AGAINST Denver has done it all season
Other than Kansas City
phinsphan85 - January 8, 2012
They need to take time off the clock & score a field goal!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
I'm glad the Steelers are losing
may not last long, but I can’t stand them. Them losing to Tebow would be awesome.
The Earl - January 8, 2012
I agree.
I think they’re so overrated coming into these playoffs. Their offense hasn’t looked good at all, especially scoring just 13 points in a game against the Browns.
phinsphan85 - January 8, 2012
Big Ben being hurt changes their whole team
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
I don't care... as long as they lose
The Earl - January 8, 2012
Agreed
Rooting for a Saints – Ravens Super Bowl.. Tired of pitt, new england, the giants, green bay.. Every year lol
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
I want Texans 49ers
to show everyone that it’s still not just a passing league
Rytackle - January 8, 2012
Except it is...
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
yeah i KNOWWWWWWW it is
but it would be ironic if they got in because they arent big passing teams
Rytackle - January 8, 2012
Lol how would the network sell that matchup?
Alex Smith vs TJ Yates
Can’t wait!! Lol
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
hahaha
Rytackle - January 8, 2012
Wouldn't the Broncos be a more appropriate example?
The Earl - January 8, 2012
Tebow in the super bowl
The universe would crack in half
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
basically, imagine if he won?
Rytackle - January 8, 2012
wash your mouth out lol
daytonadolfan - January 8, 2012
We might see 20 passes total in that game
The Earl - January 8, 2012
I drew the Texans on our playoff teams drawing. so i hope the somehow make it
PhinsAllDay - January 8, 2012 via mobile
Ugh WTF. Turnover and a stupid challenge to boot
Now they’re lose a timeout on top of it
phinsphan85 - January 8, 2012
...on Q the broncos fumble....they should have realized that Pitt would be ripping at the ball
Rytackle - January 8, 2012
It was just weeks ago new england stomped a hole in denvers defence!
wild zion beaver - January 8, 2012
Excuses
People keep trying to make excuses for punk-ass Pittsburgh. Look at the Texans, they are overcoming the most injuries and winning without crying. This is pro sports- no excuses!
miamimike71 - January 8, 2012
DONT BE THE DOLPHINS DENVER!

I certainly wasn’t expecting this type of game,…this is great !
Ohiofinfan4life - January 8, 2012
Yeah griff, sure is something else
The Broncos are playing for FG or OT right now, they don’t want to give Pitt the ball back
Rytackle - January 8, 2012
If broncos win,..
Only one person will win. If Steelers take the game, 11 people have that combination and the contest goes to the total points tiebreaker. I’m torn,….
Ohiofinfan4life - January 8, 2012
I am out thanks to the score even if the Steelers win.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
Broncos=Dolphins in the 4th this time
Rytackle - January 8, 2012
Wow, amazing D, looks like OT is possible

The Earl - January 8, 2012
I cannot beleive this
Rytackle - January 8, 2012
Tebow said "F" overtime.
senelcoolidge - January 8, 2012
that would be a news story in and of itself
The Earl - January 8, 2012
Front page news.
texascowpunk - January 8, 2012
LOL... Simms just said "Thomas, big receiver out of Central Florida"
He went to GT. He’s thinking of Marshall.
The Earl - January 8, 2012
Okay.
I thought I was wrong.
Kevin Nogle - January 8, 2012
LOL... Simms just got confused
The Earl - January 8, 2012
Wow.
And, Tebow threw for the most yards against the Steelers all season.
Kevin Nogle - January 8, 2012
Maybe he is the answer after all?
Looked at the boxscore, Tebow didn’t pull his usual stuff at the last minute. Den scored 20 points in the first half.
PotM - January 8, 2012
The Patriots have a battle ahead of them
Rytackle - January 8, 2012
Tebow was sandbagging his passing skills all year
PhinsAllDay - January 8, 2012 via mobile
Or he could be getting better.
Never count out the guy who has a lot of heart, miles and miles of heart.
PotM - January 8, 2012
Mile High Heart
PhinsAllDay - January 8, 2012 via mobile
Wow
I believe
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
Yep. Hopefully we won't have to worry about Elway trading ahead of us to take Griffin now
phinsphan85 - January 8, 2012
Just wait until they beat the Niners in the Big Ten Bowl, er, I mean, Super Bowl
The Earl - January 8, 2012
Yup
We need to trade up for Griffin
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
Which is why I hope we don't get Philbin. I think he'll just bring in Flynn and call it a day.
He looks good but I want our own guy
phinsphan85 - January 8, 2012
Thats a big maybe
We all assume that Philbin comes with Flynn… What if he doesn’t want to tie the success of his first HC gig to a backup QB?
I think it’s lazy to say that we will target Flynn automatically if we sign Philbin
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
Yeah I agree, just going by reports I see and whatnot
I know it’s all speculation. I just hope we find the right coach that WANTS the Dolphins.
phinsphan85 - January 8, 2012
The list for me is Carmichael, Fewell, or Chudzinski
Any of those three I’m good with
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
hmm why Fewell?
phinsphan85 - January 8, 2012
Love the defense in NY.
And he was interim coach of the Bills before Gailey, so he’s got some familiarity with this division
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
I love the Giants "D" also
I’m really not sure what type of coach I want. I’d like an offensive guy, but Cameron sucked. Who would you want as OC?
phinsphan85 - January 8, 2012
If we signed Fewell?
I’d stick with Daboll or target an up and coming QB coach (because they are usually the only position coach involved with the gameplan)
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
Perry Fewells defense is similar in many ways to Nolans in Miami schematically
They do alot of aggressive zone blitzing, mix up their cverages alot, change the depths of their safeties constanly e.t.c.
despite them ovbiously running a 4-3 as compared to the Dolphins 3-4.
civwarbuff - January 8, 2012
The thing I like is how he uses his personnel
Especially the 4 DE set he uses on passing downs, and then he stunts them. I love their scheme with our personnel, except that we need a playmaker or two in the back 7
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
Perry Fewells defense in New York was similar this season to Nolans in Miami chematically
despite being a 4-3 as compared to a 3-4. Lots of zone blitzing, run alot of combination coverages, implement roving and presnap movement packages, play their safeties at all diifferent depths e.t.c.
civwarbuff - January 8, 2012
*schematically
civwarbuff - January 8, 2012
Yeah
I like Nolan’s scheme too, just think we are better suited to a 43. Especially because it allows us to not pay Soliai huge money
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
We have holes in the 3-4 right now as it is
which have to be addresses so a switch to the 4-3 would’t be too difficult. Both have their benefits, both are adequate defenses and I think this team could address their needs for either.
civwarbuff - January 8, 2012
*addressed
civwarbuff - January 8, 2012
Thats true
And I’ve said before that it’s mostly personal preference.
I think you take our current personnel in a 4-3, you have Wake back at DE, Odrick, Starks, McDaniel, and Langford that can play any spot on the DL, and Merling who would benefit most because he can slim down to his college playing weight of 275 and get his quickness back
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
I prefer the 3-4
but they are both viable defenses and the Dolphins could handle a change effectively this offseason if they decide to that from a personnel standpoint. There are adjustments that will have to made but this team definately could handle that transition.
civwarbuff - January 8, 2012
Also
I agree that we don’t want Flynn. I don’t want either.
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
Chudzinski seems to be a popular name around here, though I haven't seen him mentioned as a candidate that Miami wants to interview yet
phinsphan85 - January 8, 2012
Misdirection
The get the media hyped up about Fisher who they never really wanted. Then they bring in someone under the radar.
The Earl - January 8, 2012
We need a new GM
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
Yes we do IMO
Looks like Ireland will get once more chance. He better get a QB someway, somehow this time.
zeusmith - January 8, 2012
One thing I have said all along ...
The guy is clutch…. say what you want about the guy… when he needs to make plays he just makes them. His form is awful, blah blah blah completion percentage, etc… but he just wins games… He is the anti Chad Henne… Henne is all stats, with no ability to finish a game. This guy will play like crap for 58 mins and then get it done when the game is on the line. I remember saying we should trade for him when he started the season sitting on the bench…… people said I was crazy…
Jason Scott_90 - January 8, 2012
I'm confused about the OT rules
I thought this was supposed to be the first game in NFL history that both teams were guaranteed to possess the ball? That’s what Ron Winter said at the coin toss. That’s what Simms said. What happened?
zeusmith - January 8, 2012
Hahaha
Good thing winter gave the “with two exceptions” caveat
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
I must of missed that.
I guess it only applies if the defense does not give up a TD. Then it’s over.
zeusmith - January 8, 2012
Lol yeah
The only way both teams do not get a possession is a) defensive score, or b) a td
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
Yeah, I see that now thanks
zeusmith - January 8, 2012
Also
Sorry about laughing after your first comment. Thought you were being sarcastic lol
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
No I wasn't
I actually didn;t know the rules. I just saw on the header on TV that both teams got a possession – didnt see the caveats.
zeusmith - January 8, 2012
Gotcha
Yeah they aren’t too complicated, just ensure that a first possession fg doesn’t end the game, especially if it’s like 1 first down and a 55 yarder
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
Helpful!
civwarbuff - January 8, 2012
Obviously Im just kidding.
civwarbuff - January 8, 2012
Lol really thought he was being sarcastic
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
Haha thats funny.
Btw Nicky I kind of feel bad about calling you out a few weeks ago over Chad Henne. You are right, my feelings or perceptions aside you have the right to think, say or feel anything you want as a fan.
We were 4-9 at the time and I didn’t mean to take frustrations out on you or anything like that.
civwarbuff - January 8, 2012
No worries
It was left in that thread. I don’t take anything personal on here. At least we agree on revis lol
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
Yea
I can’t believe that anyone would undermine how incredibly talented Darrelle Revis. Mindboggling.
civwarbuff - January 8, 2012
*is
civwarbuff - January 8, 2012
There are still Henne fans about
though I’m doing my best to thin out the herd
The Earl - January 8, 2012
Lol
Little Nicky 21 - January 8, 2012 via Android app
It wasn't so much me being a "Henne fan"
it didn’t really have to do with his play on the field per se.
But thats an old deal.
civwarbuff - January 8, 2012
He had potential, but his time here has past
The Earl - January 8, 2012
No doubt.
civwarbuff - January 8, 2012
Lol
I wonder where he’ll end up? Maybe he’ll go to the Jets with Sparano as OC lol
phinsphan85 - January 8, 2012
Hopefully Seattle thinks he could be a franchise QB.
Takes out a team for us and gives Henne another shot with a good supporting cast.
PotM - January 8, 2012
Haha thats funny.
Btw Nicky I feel kind of bad about calling you out over the Chad Henne comment a few weeks back. No matter my feelings you have the right to think, say or feel anything you want as a fan. With hindsight i would take it back.
We were 4-9 at the time (only a few days removed from the Eagles game) so that may have had to do with my frustration. :)
civwarbuff - January 8, 2012
No a touchdown ends the game no matter what.
The rule is that a field goal on the first offensive possession wont end the game. A Touchdown does however or a defensive score. If the first team (Denver) had driven down the field and seettled for a field goal and then Pittsburgh scored a Touchdown. Game over. If they Steelers responded with a field goal then it becomes Sudden Death.
Hope that helps.
civwarbuff - January 8, 2012
It does thanks
I’m glad they’re doing that format instead of the college thing at the 30 yard line
zeusmith - January 8, 2012
Also had the Broncos punted it becomes sudden death.
Had the Steelers gone down and kicked a field goal the game would have been over. The Broncos would not have had another possession.
civwarbuff - January 8, 2012
and yes the College format is terrible.
civwarbuff - January 8, 2012
All I'm confused with is why they couldn't change it for the reg. season too
With just 16 games, every one is important and usually crucial for playoff ramifications. They should be treated as such IMO
phinsphan85 - January 8, 2012
That Tebow is something else
Can’t help pulling for the guy. That heavy run offense works AS LONG as they can nail 2 or 3 big plays each game and keep the safeties of the LOS. Pittsburgh was still run blitzing in OT even after giving up at least 4 long plays – 5 if you could a 34 yard pass interference.
zeusmith - January 8, 2012
Tebow threw for the most yards against Pittsburgh all season
Oh the irony! Pittsburgh came into the game with the #1 pass defense in the NFL. Ike Taylor got burned at least 3 times. Rough game for him.
zeusmith - January 8, 2012
So McDaniels faces Tebow next week. Interesting
phinsphan85 - January 8, 2012
LOL @ Rich Eisen
He said " You can’t beat Tim Tebow with a hail Mary". Ha Ha.
PhinsAllDay - January 8, 2012 via mobile
Ha

Also while Meatballs was not a great movie Bill Murray at least is funny in it making it somewhat worth watching.
Meatballs Two is terrible. Also from the Vacation movies “Eddies Island Vacation” is one of the WOST movies ever made, ever……
