For the first time in a while, there's no bowl game tonight for college football. In fact, there's no football at all. It's kind of a strange feeling. Although, I'm pretty sure West Virginia just scored another touchdown.

He’s going to surge after the combine and team interviews. He’s mobile, he has the height, he was the arm AND he’s more football smart than Landry Jones. The kids a winner. And he’s only had 1 full year at QB in college football!!! A perfect QB if we get someone like Chud to coach him up.
But I think if we land fisher we’ll get Griffin.

Actually I haven't read anything
that’s just common knowledge about the draft (or should be). Most draft picks fail. If you get 2 long term starters in any one draft, you have had a good draft.
Look at our 2008 draft for example. We have two long term starters (Long and Langford) and a bunch of backups or scrubs. Looking back, we should have traded everyone of our remaining picks to STL to get Ryan. We could have gotten Long and Ryan and nothing else and we’d be contenders right now. And we really wouldn’t have missed anyone we used those picks for.
As for the Ricky trade. I wouldn’t trade all my picks for anything but a QB.

It’s hard for me to believe that 1 player is worth that sort of haul in picks, whether they pan out or not. Keep in mind this as well – Luck, as much as everyone thinks he’s the 2nd coming of Christ, hasn’t proved a thing/taken 1 snap in the NFL. If he fails, same difference. If you were to trade your entire draft for Aaron Rodgers (not realistic, just sayin), I can understand that.

Depends on whether or not you believe Ryan is a “franchise” QB. Personally, I believe the jury is still out on the kid. Great at home…not so much on the road. The Giants will prove that theory correct this weekend.
Plus…and I think I can speak for most Dolphins fans here…our drafts haven’t been so good for quite a while. Merely answering your question, though…I guess we’d make out better in the end with that deal.

He’s better than Merling, Langford, Henne, and Hilliard. There is no way at all that if offered to trade those players for Ryan straight up that ATL would take it. That’s what we would have done by trading those picks.

There’s going to be quite a bit of competition to get the 2 or 3 this year. More so than in recent drafts because a lot of teams would like to get RG3. Unless his stock falls, I expect the team that trades up will have to pay a premium price.

Best case scenario would be for Justin Blackmon or Claiborne from LSU to fall to us. I can see us drafting Claiborne and moving Sean Smith to FS.

If he can’t win in 2012, he’ll be ran out of town at light speed. We are running Henne off, but our hopes for him were modest at best. They anointed sanchez from day one as the “sanchise”. He was the answer! He was going to lead them to the promised land. There are STILL posts up at GGN that say sanchez is not a bad QB and that his failures are all because of the OC and stuff. Henne failing here is akin to getting dumped after dating for 3 months or something. sanchez failing is more like getting stood up at the altar. If he can’t win this season, then his career is likely over, at least as a starter.

But like you said, that throw he made against the jets was a good sign of things. I always follow the tweeters during the game and one thing Omar is always preaching is whether or not a QB can “kill”. Henne never had that in him, but I think Moore showed some of that against the Pats and jets. I wouldn’t be opposed to building up the offense and getting him some weapons or protection. Plus I’d rather go all-in for the 2013 draft since Barkley is a stud and Jones should be better.

But we’ll eventually need the guy at quarterback, and I don’t think Moore is that player. Doesn’t mean I hate him or think he won’t start for us next year. But if we’re going to load up on premier talent in this draft, I would put out an itinerary similar to this:
1) Right tackle
2) Outside linebacker
3) Safety
4) Wide receiver or tight end (whichever is a better value at that juncture)

As for my reaction, I didn't mind TS at first
but I thought they had to get a QB last year if they wanted to stay. So many were opposed to it because they thought we needed to win now. I said that drafting someone like Mallett would have given them some leeway as he would need developmental time. I said if TS and Ireland went into the season with Henne as their main QB, they would suffer. I was right too.

But I was at the bar earlier this year and got drunk while watching ASU play. Osweiler way impressed me for a guy so huge. His arm is a blaster rifle, too. The funny thing is that scouts typically downgrade QB prospects for not having a pure over-the-top release, but ASU coaches made Osweiler lower his release to quicken it a bit.
