Miami Dolphins Defensive End Jared Odrick: "I Owe Them One"

Miami Dolphins' defensive end Jared Odrick established himself as a fan favorite this season thanks to his unique sack celebration. Every time he brings down a opposing quarterback, Odrick does the "Pee-Wee Herman" dance.

But, on Sunday, he was denied his chance to celebrate.

Odrick was awarded his sixth sack of the season several minutes after the fact last Sunday. The official score keeper determined that Odrick was the closest player to New York Jets' Mark Sanchez when the quarterback scrambled around in the pocket before sliding down at the line of scrimmage. As such, Odrick was given the sack.

"Tell the fans, I owe them one," the second year player said, smiling.

Odrick's six sacks on the season put him third on the team, behind linebackers Cameron Wake (8.5) and Jason Taylor (7.0). The total ranked him tied for 49th in the league in sacks on the season.

I love this dance!
6 sacks is really good for a 3-4 defensive end, Especially one on a rotation. Fair play to him, hope he continues it on next season, whatever the system is.
JO is the man...

He’s from my hometown and I went to elementary school with him. Then in middle school he was too big to play football, so played soccer for our club team for one year. He played defense and the kid scored from half one game! Full size soccer field, ball through the air the entire time. Still my favorite sports memory of JO. I hope his success continues! And the dance is an instant classic. Obviously.

the offseason news has begun
At this point I will take what I can get lol
Odrick's already one of my favorite Dolphins, and it's a great point that he's getting sacks at a position where you're considered exceptional if you can occupy multiple blocks, hold up the point of attack and stuff the run
He and Starks will compliment each other very well.

Sadly, that means Langford’s time has probably come to an end.

I think Odrick blossoming is awesome

and a tribute to Jeff Ireland. The guy deserved to keep his job. Look at Wilson, Wake, Odrick, Langford, Long, Davis. The only stain on his resume is his inability to get the Dolphins an elite QB, hopefully he finds a way to grab the QB from his alma mater!

Our D-line is stacked

I would even say our front 7 is top 5 in the NFL. Soliai, starks odrick, dansby, burnett, and wake could start on mostly every team. I like our D-line and odrick should be a dolphin for the next 8-10 years.
