I believe in Mat Moore too....
As the long term solution for back-up. Don’t get me wrong, I think Matt is awesome, but he doesn’t put up the numbers we need a quarterback to put up. Franchise quarterback numbers. Dan Marino numbers. That’s what we want. Matt Moore is a good quarterback and if we kept him as our number 2 for the rest of his career, I’d be happy. He can step in and play decently if anything happens to our starting franchise quarterback (when we get him).

can we please at least give the guy a chance to be our starter. hell who knows he may just turn out to surprise us all.. if not then hell no harm no foul we keep looking. but i dont see the down side of givng the guy a real chance to be our starter.

Yeah, I can see your side of it,
but how did that work out with Chad Henne? Everyone kept saying one more year, one more year. He never panned out. Take a look at Moore’s track record with all the teams he’s been on. He’s a middle of the road QB. He will more than likely never put up the kind of numbers we want.

i think henne had his shot here and it didnt work out.. if they let him go which everyone thinks they will. he may go on to another team and do very well.. who really knows.. but with moore i am of the firm belief how he played at the end of this season he should get his shot this season coming up.. if he falters with a full off season under his belt then ya he is what his record says he is and time to move on

I guess it is his numbers not just for last season
but for every season he’s started that fuels my pessimism. He just doesn’t put up franchise calibre numbers. I still like him as a back-up. But it’s time for us to get the ultimate stop-gap in Peyton Manning as long as he’s healthy and then we can draft a stud qb to learn behind the best and be our true qb of the future. It’s time for a change.
