The Miami Dolphins ended their head coach search today, hiring former Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin to take the reins of the team. Philbin beat out the Dolphins' interim head coach Todd Bowles and Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy for the position.
The hiring of Philbin has been reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter and Fox's Jay Glazer.
Philbin began his coaching career with Tulane as a graduate assistant in 1984. In 1986, he moved to the Worcester Polytechnic Institute as the offensive line coach. Two years later, he took the same position with the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
From 1990-1993, Philbin was the offensive line coach and coordinator for Allegheny College before spending 1994 with Ohio University as their offensive line coach. The next two years saw Philbin serve as the offensive line coach and coordinator for Northeastern, before moving to the same job with Harvard for the 1997-1998 seasons. He concluded his college coaching career at Oowa, where he was the offensive line coach from 1999-2002.
In 2003, Philbin was hired by the Green Bay Packers as an assistant offensive line coach. From 2004-2005, he added the tight ends coach to his job title, before taking over as the offensive line coach in 2006. Since 2007, Philbin has served as the offensive coordinator for the Packers.
During his time as the Packers offensive coordinator, Philbin has seen the Packers offense ranked in the top ten of the league every year.
Philbin first interviewed with the Dolphins on January 7th, only to have his 21-year-old son, Michael, go missing in the early morning hours on the 8th. On Monday, January 9th, Michael's body was recovered from the Fox River in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Philbin is the tenth head coach in Miami Dolphins history.

Nice
Now go get Flynn and Clements too!

Don't leave out Finley

doubt we have the cap room for finley AND flynn
Unless they come cheap to be with their former OC.

Hey, it could happen

Neo - January 20, 2012
No to Flynn!!!
The Earl - January 20, 2012
I would only consider it since Philbin is here
nFlynn has been studying Phil’s offense. IF Phil think he has “it” I’m open to the idea. Not my first choice though
54 - January 20, 2012
I believe Philbin will bring him in if he feels the kid is for real
Miamimaniac - January 20, 2012
He might, but it will be expensive
We would be better served to use our FA moneys elsewhere.
The Earl - January 20, 2012
We would be better served to use our FA moneys elsewhere.
And what other “elsewhere” would you be preferring that is money would be served instead of the most important position on the field?
The money is best served on the most important position on the field IMO. And that is QB. If we swing and miss with FLynn, fine. It isn’t like we haven’t wasted money on other positions that missed. Its about time we take a chance wither with money or draft picks on the most important position on the field. There is no other position that needs to be fixd on this team more.
Neo - January 20, 2012
I absolutely agree with this:
Key word: draft picks. We can get plenty of key players in free agency and use our picks to get our QB. I think it’s silly to tie up a huge amount of money on a player with two starts.
The Earl - January 20, 2012
I think it’s silly to tie up a huge amount of money on a player with two starts.
Maybe, but we’ve done more crazier things, and this one could work.
Neo - January 20, 2012
If we can get him cheap (5M a year), then it couldn't hurt
but we still need to draft a QB fairly early. If we did go the Flynn route, getting a guy like B.J. Coleman in the 5th round wouldn’t be a terrible option.
The Earl - January 20, 2012
If we did go the Flynn route, getting a guy like B.J. Coleman in the 5th round wouldn’t be a terrible option.
I wouldn’t mind this. And I do understand your concern about the money, but its just like, for too many years we’ve being doing patch work. Not really taking a “real chance” with the most important position on the field. Real chance = like paying a QB REAL money or spendin a 1st rounder a “franchise qb”.
For the love of God lets take a chance. Get Flynn or RG3, I’d be happy with either, just TAKE A CHANCE.
Neo - January 20, 2012
I understand completely
I’m just not a fan of the free agent route. I’d rather go the 1st round route. But if we do sign Flynn and he becomes a franchise QB, I’ll be the first to admit I was wrong about him… happily.
The Earl - January 20, 2012
Flynn
If Philbin thinks that Flynn is the player to have then I believe him…
JerseyGuy77 - January 20, 2012
We have tried crazier things except draft a QB in the 1st in nearly 30 years:)
Agent J 78 - January 20, 2012
They'll weigh the ROI
and make a decision
Miamimaniac - January 20, 2012
Penny Wise, Dollar Foolish
It makes no sense to cheap out on a qb if we’ve got the real deal in reach. Better than anyone on this board or on the Miami staff, Philbin is going to know if Flynn is worth the money we’ll have to spend. It makes no sense to let anyone else make the call on Flynn.
JTC111 - January 21, 2012
Was listening to The Ticket 790 with Ben Volin
and they reported it………
Great hire, hope he doesn’t bring Flynn

No Flynn. Lets see what Moore can do and re-sign Henne for one more year to compete.
Drumzan - January 20, 2012
That is almost as bad as bringing in Flynn
I will be ok with them bringing Flynn in only because Philbin will know him better than anyone. Flynn won’t sell out the stadium though, RG3 will.
Moore showed us what he can do, he is a stop-gap/ solid backup at best.

I'll be damned
Maybe Ross has two functioning brain cells after all!
DrJay32 - January 20, 2012
he's made the right decisions when it comes to coaching picks
Harbaugh would’ve been a good pick-up.
Va FinFan - January 20, 2012
Picks, yes
but the company clown-car isn’t a good tactical move
DrJay32 - January 20, 2012
glad its all over
But after looking at everything, I have a feeling a few years down the road we may end up regretting this. OC from the electric Green Bay Packers sounds great but the fact that he is an offensive line guy who didn’t controll the playcalling its a huge warning sign. Hopefully they know better than I do but I’m not gonna lie I’m worried a bit. Prove me wrong Philbin.
AcolyteofRa - January 20, 2012 via mobile
Play calling doesn't mean anything
usually a HC doesn’t call the plays anyways.
Maguss - January 20, 2012
Yep
He’ll have an OC who will call the plays.
Kevin Nogle - January 20, 2012
Clements?
Agent J 78 - January 20, 2012
It will be interesting to see.
Kevin Nogle - January 20, 2012
Or maybe its his time to start calling them...
Everybody who’s good at it must have started at some point without any experience…
JerseyGuy77 - January 20, 2012
Truthfully, we would find some area of concern with any hire
So lets see how it pans out
yevinorion - January 20, 2012
oh yeah im excited
Hopefully he can take this super talented underperforming team we have and propell us back to greatness and I will give him an oportunity to see everything he brings, just have a feeling this may be one of those things that turns sour. Though I hope I’m completely wrong.
AcolyteofRa - January 20, 2012 via mobile
azchad68
Who made up the plan that coach McCarthy called the plays from? The man, in question, has called these plays 1000’s of times over and over and over in his head as they go out. Dude has it, hes got it. Pre-season to get adjusted, 1 or 2 games live, MIAMI is a contender.
azchadphin4life - January 20, 2012
What’s to stop him from trying to bring in the guy from GB who was calling the plays and making him the OC?
JTC111 - January 21, 2012
McCarthy, their HC, called the plays.
And GB could block Miami from bringing any of their assistants. The only moves teams can’t deny is the right for an assistant to land a HC position.
Finhead83 - January 21, 2012
Are you sure? I thought the rule was that they could bring them in if they were getting promoted.
JTC111 - January 21, 2012
http://www.windycitygridiron.com/2009/11/25/1173920/rules-on-hiring-nfl-coaches
What I’m reading there contradicts what you said.
JTC111 - January 21, 2012
Here is an article that discusses about the Bears blocking such a move.
Sorry, but Windy City Gridiron is wrong. You can’t hire a QB Coach away to be OC without permission from the other team.
http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/id/7473785/source-chicago-bears-coordinator-mike-tice-interview-oakland-raiders-head-coach-job
Finhead83 - January 21, 2012
I'm sure.
It’s not necessarily a promotion thing. You may think going from a QB Coach to an OC is a promotion, but teams can, and have blocked the moves. The only moves that can’t be blocked are coaches going from position/assistant/coordinator positions to HC.
Finhead83 - January 21, 2012
I stand corrected. Thanks for the info.
JTC111 - January 21, 2012
woah! finally!

I have to guess you had this prepped just in case ;)

But I’m still WOW!!! This is awesome!!!
Flynn here we come. No QB in the first round.
BahamaDolfan - January 20, 2012
Why does everyone assume that? Ireland is still in charge of personnel.
Agent J 78 - January 20, 2012
I assumed that even before this hire
yevinorion - January 20, 2012
Do we bring in Kevin Greene as DC?
Look at what he has done with Hawk and Matthews in GB. Imagine what he might be able to do with Dansby and Wake.
bbickley - January 20, 2012
doesnt look like it
Look a few comments up, he is trying to get bowles as DC.
AnishB15 - January 20, 2012 via mobile
I think that's a good possibility.
It will either be Greene or Bowles.
Kevin Nogle - January 20, 2012
Isn't Bowles a "leading canidate" for the Oakland job?
bbickley - January 20, 2012
Just like McCoy was the leading candidate in Miami? :)
Agent J 78 - January 20, 2012
OUCH!
Guess he shouldn’t have blown off that interview after all, huh?
PhinNomenol! - January 20, 2012 via Android app
He's under consideration.
Kevin Nogle - January 20, 2012
Is Assistant Head coach a more valueable position than Defensive Coordinator?
Would Bowles want to come back to Miami to be the DC after he has been an Assistant Heach Coach and an Interim Heach Coach?
bbickley - January 20, 2012
That's been all the speculation, since he has never been a DC.
And many teams are looking at him for DC positions right now too.
You could very easily make him DC and “Assistant HC” still.
Kevin Nogle - January 20, 2012
One among many.
We haven’t settled on anyone yet. But Winston Moss is the most likely now that y’all got Philbin.
Screwfish - January 20, 2012
Let's go baby!!!! Yes yes yes!!!!!!
Goon305Boy10 - January 20, 2012 via mobile

Finally we can move on from the last 41,582 posts about who the next coach might be
FinFinatic - January 20, 2012
WOOOOWWWW. Go Ross!!! Philbin means we go OLB first round
BahamaDolfan - January 20, 2012
Probably still Riley Reiff in round 1
Ireland is still going to be the one making those calls.
BobLoblaw113 - January 20, 2012
I'm betting Oakland will be next to name a head coach
Now that the race is one to grab some Green Bay coaches
kermit the frogger29 - January 20, 2012
glad its not mccoy
woulda liked them to at least talk to carmichael jr…but in om board with philbin….now sign matt flynn….not into dolphins giving up this years draft for 1 player(rg3)
paul wall 1962 - January 20, 2012
very cool, now we have a coach ! I guess we know who's the boss now ... take that ireland !
daytonadolfan - January 20, 2012
now comes the wait to see what staff he brings in, hint ,hint mosul. daily asst. coach watch now , lol
daytonadolfan - January 20, 2012
I guess Ross' "young Don Shula" phrase can now be lumped with "Henne can be Miami's greatest QB"
since he’s not young
hbkDolphins - January 20, 2012
Sure he is.
Shula’s 82. Philbin is younger.
We don’t know at what age Ross meant to compare a coach for the “young” part of that statement.
Kevin Nogle - January 20, 2012
good point!
daytonadolfan - January 20, 2012

we would need permission from Denver
not gonna happen. Maybe Haley, Clements,
Va FinFan - January 20, 2012

i cant wait either. Lets be honest, wannstedt, cameron, saban and sparano have most people feeling a bit unsure, but philbin seems like the guy we can be successful with

Call it a brief reprieve
I’m sure the draft and FA will bring everyone back to themselves lol
PhinNomenol! - January 20, 2012 via Android app
Me, too!
Think this is a good move, and can’t wait to see where it goes / grows from here.
davehowardcustom - January 20, 2012
Feels strange seeing this many Dolphin fans with a positive outlook
So either this was the right move, or none of us know what we’re talking about lol
BobLoblaw113 - January 20, 2012
Or it's both. lol
Agent J 78 - January 20, 2012
I read somewhere that although Philbin doesn't call plays
He creates the game plan
Goon305Boy10 - January 20, 2012 via mobile
I'm excited about that
Take advantage of the opponent and not just
RUN! noo wait, run the other way. No wait, throw it to Marshall. Run between the tackles!
But coach, there are six guys there!
Just RUN!

That's what the reports are saying.
Kevin Nogle - January 20, 2012
I have to believe that Peterson played a major role in this decision as well
If so I say bravo Mr. King Carl
kermit the frogger29 - January 20, 2012
how so?
SuperDave75 - January 20, 2012
It was reported that both Ross and Peterson were high on Philbin
kermit the frogger29 - January 20, 2012
ok wasnt aware of that....... was peterson just part of the hiring process as i read?
SuperDave75 - January 20, 2012
not sure but I wouldn't be surprised if he accepts a full time position with team soon
kermit the frogger29 - January 20, 2012
in what capacity?
SuperDave75 - January 20, 2012
It was also reported that McCoy was all but a shoe in
So……… don’t believe it. There was not a thing reported from the Dolphins since they said they were interviewing McCoy. There wasn’t even a leak, everything was pure speculation on all the medias part.
Agent J 78 - January 20, 2012
Just saw this:
The Earl - January 20, 2012
Officially released from the Dolphins?
Agent J 78 - January 20, 2012
I love this!!!!!!!!!!!!!WINNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally, an offensive minded coach. hopefully he can get dabol fired up to make some offensive plays. Steps to make things happen:
1. Get a new RT
2. Pick up a QB in RGIII or commit to Moore
3. QB to Gates to open up the Running game
4. Commit Clay to TE or FB + pick up a TE in draft
5. Win games!!!
rebelranger - January 20, 2012
not move jerry to RT? thoughts?
SuperDave75 - January 20, 2012
if he pans out...
I would love to save the cap space and if he can play RT like he did LT for Long YES! Think of the splash can make if we don’t have to spend a fortune on a RT. I really like we only need a RT and our line is set, maybe even revert back to zone blocking instead of man blocking.
rebelranger - January 20, 2012
jerry
like to see jerry progress and earn the starting spot…but competiton breeds success..nothing wrong with a little o-line depth…i wouldnt mind reiff..hes a future pro bowler
paul wall 1962 - January 20, 2012
NO....
Seriously, what team in the NFL has 4 first rd draft picks on the Oline? I like reiff but we can’t keep using picks on the O-line. At some point we need to make a O-line strategy change if it isn’t working. Please take a OLB or CB before another 1st round O-lineman
rebelranger - January 20, 2012
If we aren't taking a QB in the first, we have to take a player at a higher impact position
Like you said, a CB or pass rusher would be a better value.
The Earl - January 20, 2012
^This^
Agent J 78 - January 20, 2012
HIGH IMPACT!!!
I seriously think we are going to stick with Moore at QB. Being committed to him and Devlin as our backup, we’ll probably get another project QB in the draft, whether a 2nd or UDFA like Moore out of Boise, so count one draft pick going to that. So with an offensive minded HC I say one Offense pick and one Offense FA then Def. SS Bell is great but older and can be cut as much as it pains me to say, A great OLB and CB are needed most. My honest 1st rd pick will be best TE or WR, then CB or OLB, then CB or OLB, then safety picks – O line err, LB, DBs. The Wr or TE bothers me most because we have sure handed Wrs most years with Hartline, Bess, Marshall but never utilized them or they had terrible drops/fumbles like this year. I’m now worried about or Def seeing as Nolan is gone.

kermit the frogger29 - January 20, 2012
this guy definately has an aura about him
I think the team will take to him very quickly
kermit the frogger29 - January 20, 2012
I doubt our cap space will allow for us to sign Flynn
since his contract would take up most of it.
The Earl - January 20, 2012
whats it going to take to sign him in your opinion?
SuperDave75 - January 20, 2012
Flynn is going to get a Kevin Kolb-esque contract...
Which is a $65M contract with $20M in guarantees. As I saw on twitter:
But I also saw this:
I’m so surprised that everyone is so high on a guy with 2 career starts against two bad defenses.
The Earl - January 20, 2012
Agreed
You don’t hire a coach so you might maybe get to pay a lot of money for a guy with a couple of big wins while driving an offensive juggernaut. We can’t assume Flynn is Rodgers Redux.
ZIM - January 20, 2012
I'd rather spend the FA money on Carl Nicks or Mario Williams (read that he MIGHT be a free agent)
We can draft a QB and let Moore run things until the rookie is ready. Plus I think we will get outbid for Flynn anyway. So unless he does take the discount, he’ll be somewhere else.
The Earl - January 20, 2012
From what I saw on tv the other day
It is gonna cost them a ridiculous amount to franchise Williams, so if he wants out then he can hit the open market in which case I would love to put him opposite of Wake, itd be a brutal tandem. Nicks would also be a good pick up. The main reason I would like to see Flynn land somewhere else is because it would take out one team from the running for RG3. Im hoping Shanahan feels the heat in his seat and takes Flynn. Us vs the Browns sounds like pretty good odds to me and would help down the price a bit.
AcolyteofRa - January 20, 2012
Problem with Williams is he will very expensive
He will most likely end up in NE. As for here, he’s not a great fit in a 3-4, but we could move to a 4-3 and not have to resign Soliai.
The Earl - January 20, 2012
Don't know about that
He had 5 sacks in 5 games as OLB in 2011
Agent J 78 - January 20, 2012
I think he's more effective as a 4-3 DE
The Earl - January 20, 2012
Probably but he would amazing on the other side of Wake :)
Agent J 78 - January 20, 2012
He would indeed
The Earl - January 20, 2012
He's going to be effective regardless
He’s just a freakish athlete. Averaging a sack per game playing a position that you’ve never played before is pretty impressive. Now he has some experience with it and an entire offseason to process that information. I’d take him no matter what defensive scheme we end up running.
BobLoblaw113 - January 20, 2012
Unfortunately I don't see Houston letting him test the UFA waters
Agent J 78 - January 20, 2012
They might not be able to prevent it actually
And there’s a few reasons its definitely plausible he makes it out, They not only have him but Arian Foster who would need to be signed and I see Foster being the top worry in their eyes. If they wanted to go the other way and franchise tag him, It would cost them a HUGE amount of money (Ive heard 20 mill!) and lastly the team really did not suffer a huge drop off when they lost him this year, combine the three and you may have the firestorm that just might land Williams in Aqua. One can dream cant they? lol
AcolyteofRa - January 20, 2012
Arian Foster is a RFA though.
They can put the highest tender on him and franchise Mario. That is the most likely scenario if neither are signed before FA starts.
Finhead83 - January 20, 2012
Agreed that this is most likely (just trying to convince myself we have a chance lol)
But Houston may look to go another direction considering that their defense remained strong without him. Of course they could always sign him and trade him on draft day to move up.
BobLoblaw113 - January 21, 2012
Definitely don't think that will happen.
If Houston resigned Mario, it’d be very expensive for them to trade him because of a cap hit. Houston’s D was strong without Mario, but I bet they think they can be elite with him. There’s just no chance they let him go.
Finhead83 - January 21, 2012
The main reason I would like to see Flynn land somewhere else is because it would take out one team from the running for RG3.
So mortgage our draft picks for a QB that we don’t know is franchise either. DOn’t get me wrong I like RG3. But the facts are, we are gonna spend the money and its gonna hurt us in FA, or we are gonna spend the picks on the draft and hurt us in the draft. And none of the QB we will be getting shows no more promise than the other of being “elite”.
Neo - January 20, 2012
Would Williams be classified as LB or DE?
I am sure he would make the same argument Suggs did and win so the FT from NFL.com: Defensive end: $10.6 million (down from $13 million in 2011, $12.4 million in 2010); Jason Jones, Mario Williams*
Agent J 78 - January 20, 2012
I don't think Houston lets him go, but IMO, he will go to a 4-3 team where he can get a big contract
and play his more natural position.
The Earl - January 20, 2012
Me either
But he’ll make just as much money as a 3-4 OLB as a 4-3 DE. Money won’t be a factor it will be what he is more comfortable/ likes the best.
Agent J 78 - January 20, 2012
Gotta have faith
Nothing in the NFL is a sure thing, you gotta take a chance sometime. I don’t seen Flynn as a “Kolb”, I see him as a “Schaub”. Another backup QB not getting playing time because he is sitting behind a MVP.
Neo - January 20, 2012
yeah, but we're not talking about signing him to a $3-4M a year deal like some may think
It’s going to be $8-10M a year like Kolb’s contract, which will destroy most of our cap.
The Earl - January 20, 2012
I don't care
We are gonna have to roll the ball sometime. Now is a better time than ever. Go for it!
Neo - January 20, 2012
Then let's go for it by trading up and taking Griffin
He will be cheaper and have just as much potential as Flynn.
The Earl - January 20, 2012
Either RG3 or Flynn, I'd be happy
RG3 will be cheaper money wise, but he will cost us a ransom in draft picks, either way you are gonna pay and none of them are promised. Flynn comes in knowing the system and if he is gonna be good, its now in this system, no learning curve.
Neo - January 20, 2012
We will find a way!!!
Familiar with each other = success … + not needin
G a QB in the draft will be huge!
MassFinFan65 - January 20, 2012
just ask him about the weather, he's ours.
SuperDave75 - January 20, 2012
i say that as its pissing down here in Australia and really cold for the middle of summer mind you
SuperDave75 - January 20, 2012
Well, when we are 8-8 again with yet another backup, what will fans say then?
especially when we can’t trade or cut him with his massive contract.
The Earl - January 20, 2012
so u say no to flynn, stay with moore or henne and get barkley next year?
SuperDave75 - January 20, 2012
I'm not opposed to trading up for RG3
but I can also handle trading down and drafting Tannehill later. While Flynn would allow us to eschew drafting a QB again, he will also hurt our cap space. Plus it’s not like we can’t find another Flynn somewhere else.
The Earl - January 20, 2012
No one knows what the cap is even going to be yet
The 2011 cap was actually less than 2009 and the players only accepted in the new CBA because it was suppose to go up significantly.
Agent J 78 - January 20, 2012
So,....he spent a year in Athens, Ohio @ Ohio University.
Although it’s not the Buckeyes,…I’ll take the Ohio/Dolphins connection anyway I can get them,….lol.

Alpha6 - January 20, 2012
I wish,.....
I got lucky on this pic. He was down on the field for some sort of pre-game activity. Once I spotted him, I positioned myself so he would have to walk right by me while he was leaving the sidelines. Dude was power walking and on a mission with an assistant and two very large guards with him in tow. So if there was money falling of his pockets, I was leaving that for his goons. I was just happy to get the picture ( as you can see ) !

Welcome Joe!
I live in Ohio, and watch the agony of Browns fans every year. I have been a Die hard Dolphins fan since their 1st Superbowl, when the Cowboys beat “My team,” and I spouted off to my family: “You just wait, my team’s gonna kick everybody’s ass next year.” Ummmmm….. we went 17 – 0. Don Shula was my “wanna be dad,” and I have never wavered since. I Love this team, and Joe Philbin, I welcome you with open arms! Dave Howard is now your biggest fan. Sincere condolences to you & your family on your loss. God Bless & give you strength.
TO ALL DOLPHIN FANS: PLEASE, give this man’s regime time to BUILD A WINNER!!!!!!!! I am so damned sick of the “instant gratification” fans. It takes time & stability to build a dynasty. Just ask our Browns how they feel about firing bill B. when he didn’t INSTANTLY WIN, and let him go. If you want instant gratification, grab a bottle of lotion, som Kleenex, and go hide in the bedroom for 15 minutes!
Settle the F#*k down, and let this man build from the ground up.
Nuff sed,
GO DOLPHINS!
Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alpha6 - January 20, 2012
Remeber fans
How many seasons it took for Bill Cowher, Brian Billick, and even Don Shula took to win a super bowl.
IT AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN NEXT YEAR! Get over it, be a fanatic, be a respectable sport & a class act, and give our new coach & his staff time to mold a dynasty.
Bring it back Joe! Been a die hard for over 40 years, (God, I’m getting old). Just get us a ring again before I die.
davehowardcustom - January 20, 2012
Right with you
I also became a fan that first superbowl year.
Miamimaniac - January 20, 2012
I'm 32 so I've never witnessed a Dolphins championship
Unfortunately, I remember getting beat by San Francisco far more clearly than I should considering that I was only 5 when it happened. I don’t care about instant gratification. I do care about the coach, GM, and owner having a clear cut plan to make this team better. This franchise has been without direction for far too long. I’m hopeful that Philbin, with his experience in a well run organization like Green Bay, can help resolve this issue. Ireland finally got it together last year, and if the two of them can work together effectively we should be successful fairly quickly. There’s a decent amount of talent on this team already.

WELCOME COACH
LET’S DO THIS!!!
chialando - January 20, 2012
Even the trekkies are excited....
Alpha6 - January 20, 2012
Flynn is a formality...
Expect a real good TE. Man..this offence will be exciting. I just hope Flynn delivers. He has to deliver. Philbin’s coaching career depends on it.
BahamaDolfan - January 20, 2012
It is not a formality
The Earl - January 20, 2012
You don't think? I hunk Flynn is on his way.
BahamaDolfan - January 20, 2012
Have you ever heard of Dan Snyder?
He runs the Redskins. And if he’s in love with Flynnn he will throw Kolb money at him, maybe more …I don’t see us paying that …so it’s far from a given he’s here, we don’t even know who is interested innhim
HighFlyers - January 20, 2012
It's possible, but not a given
The Earl - January 20, 2012
Alpha would be interested to know
that you think Flynn is a hunk
Agent J 78 - January 20, 2012
MMMmmmm, I bet your Bahama is getting stiff
Alpha6 - January 20, 2012

HighFlyers - January 20, 2012
I'm back from work. What did I miss
Phinsphana - January 20, 2012
Well, Daytona got spanked by beavers. A Ram's troll stopped by.
And Finhead chimed in using his wheelchair…
Alpha6 - January 20, 2012

Alpha got worn out working as a pivot man
Miamimaniac - January 20, 2012
Not's that true.

Alpha6 - January 20, 2012

KICKING THE ROCKS OVER IS OVER....
HC in place. Now it’s time to push forward and put this franchise back to its respectable position, at the top. Granted, it might take a year or so, but I see playoffs next year given all that is due to us fans. We’ve waited long and been true, us loyal fans. YOUNG GRASSHOPPER.
azchadphin4life - January 20, 2012
Sounds like he knows about us
The Earl - January 20, 2012

daytonadolfan - January 20, 2012

After a long Friday, Dolphins fans finally learned their new head coach is........JOE PHILBIN!
TheFinReaper - January 20, 2012
lol
Agent J 78 - January 20, 2012
IS ROSS TAKING CONTROL?????
By the looks of it, and buy all rights, the media and posts, blogs etc… had McCoy as our hc. NOTTTTTT.
azchadphin4life - January 20, 2012
There was nothing coming out from the Dolphins
The last actual Dolphin source used before this evening was Jeff Darlington said someone last Saturday was being interviewed (but no name) and the Dolphins said they were interviewing McCoy. Other than that all the information came from other areas (mostly from Denver) and was just speculation.
In fact the others like Jesse Agler, Ben Volin etc were commenting on how overly quiet it was. There was even little ramblings from Armando. No one knows how interviews went, who interviewed who, nothing. We may know more after the press conference tomorrow but I doubt it. After the Harbaugh incident Ross wanted to keep things internal as much as possible and it seems like he did a good job doing just that.
Agent J 78 - January 20, 2012
Classic ESPN report here
Gotta love how “Informed” John Clayton is when he says we chose Philbin over Mike McCoy “The defensive coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys.” Somebody break the news to ESPN that we are done with Cowboy castoffs.
TheFinReaper - January 20, 2012
Clayton is a buffoon of epic proportions
Agent J 78 - January 20, 2012
