In what could prove to be one of the most entertaining bowl games, the high flying Oregon Ducks face off against the power attack of the Wisconsin Badgers. This game has all the signs of a shootout, and a very entertaining one at that. A return to tradition, the Rose Bowl features a PAC-12 top ten team against a Big Ten top ten team.
Both of these teams have had difficulty in BCS Bowl games the last few years, with Wisconsin losing in least year's Rose Bowl to TCU, while the Ducks have lost in a BCS Bowl each of the last two years.
This really should be a very exciting, and entertaining, game. Enjoy!

can't wait for the alabama vs, lsu game, there will be blood letting !
daytonadolfan - January 2, 2012
This game should be pretty awesome, too
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
Georgia just missed a FG in OT
Can Cousins lead the team back to a victory?
The Earl - January 2, 2012
Is anyone else watching the Winter Classic?
Not much of a hockey fan, but this is a very entertaining game.
Kevin Nogle - January 2, 2012
I love hockey
But can’t stand the Flyers or Rangers. Still, this is a great game.
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
Go Rangers!!
phinsphan85 - January 2, 2012
look at those helmets.... wow
el presidente 00 - January 2, 2012
the benefits of a fully sponsored nike school..
el presidente 00 - January 2, 2012
Yeah, no kidding
Absolutely ridiculous.
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
who are some players to watch for draft?
el presidente 00 - January 2, 2012
LaMichael James for Oregon
Zeitler for Wisconsin. Montee Ball if he declares. Ditto for Peter Konz.
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
Oh, and Nick Toon for Wisconsin
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
wisconsins O line is very solid, do you know how many might declare for the draft?
el presidente 00 - January 2, 2012
Their guard Zeitler is a senior
Their center Peter Konz (the best player on Wisconsin’s offensive line) is a junior, and Badger linemen rarely declare early. T Ricky Wagner might be a junior, too. He’s nasty, as well.
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
Where would Konz play if we drafted him?
The Earl - January 2, 2012
It always is
Farorefox - January 2, 2012
both runners are studs...
el presidente 00 - January 2, 2012
Ball is pretty fast for a big back
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
Awesome. Another bowl game with no defense!
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
who needs defense these days?
el presidente 00 - January 2, 2012
The Detroit Lions?
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
theyre getting all the offense out of the way now bc the national title game will have none
el presidente 00 - January 2, 2012
LOL Yeah I am not even looking forward to watching that game. Sad as I usually want to see what is perceived
as the two best teams duke it out. I will never understand how the powers that be do not thing that a simple play off system (say 8 teams) would not only bring in more viewers but a lot more $$$$$. And after all is that not what its all about to these schools?
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
i agree, college football is now about power conferences to generate more revenue
8 team playoff system would make so much money for each school
if i had it my way i would have the 8 team playoff, the losers would play bowl games still, until the national championship game
el presidente 00 - January 2, 2012
Yeah they love the current bowl system.
I say you add a few games to the mix for the playoff system rotation and the rest go on as always. Everyone’s happy and the fans get what they actually want. A legit playoff system.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
assuming top teams win
8 v 1
1 v 4
5 v 4
1 v 2
6 v 3
2 v 3
7 v 2
then 8 v 5 would play a bowl game… 7 v 6 too … 4 v 3….
el presidente 00 - January 2, 2012
that did not work out as planned dammit!
had a bracket style aand everything
el presidente 00 - January 2, 2012
I got it.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
We both appreciate and applaud your effort, Peezy
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
thanks guys, thats what the new years all about
el presidente 00 - January 2, 2012
So ... I figure the Dolphins NEED Landry Jones to declare
Sadly, he might be our best option right now.
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
Noooooooooooooooooooooooo
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
no thank you
el presidente 00 - January 2, 2012
Sorry, but now this is happening
We need options, and I am not ready to completely shut the door on him yet. I am getting there, but I’d like to see his pro day first.
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
I don't think he's THAT bad...
The Earl - January 2, 2012
I think I am starting to resign myself to the fact that this isn't the QB draft year.
We just got stuck in the middle of nothing.
Kevin Nogle - January 2, 2012
Could be
Imagine how everyone here will lose it if we take an offensive tackle. Best part, this tackle class is as good as it gets. Premier talent at a premier positional need = great success.
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
if we cant get RG3 around 5, our best bet is to keep moore for another year and use this upcoming draft to make moves for barkley next year
el presidente 00 - January 2, 2012
If you want Barkley next year then your best bet is to trade this years first for someone first next year who you
believe might suck. We played much worse then we actually are so we will not be drafting any higher next year and Barkley will be taken in the first few picks for sure.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
I'd rather dedicate this draft to finding a safety and outside linebacker
And some OL talent, too. That way, we’re an ideal cushion for any QB we bring in next year.
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
If we stick to the 3-4, we have almost no choice but to get a phenomenal edge-rushing linebacker
And our QB situation has overshadowed just how bad our safeties are. I think we need a major upgrade at that spot, as well.
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
right, although i do hope we can get RG3 its not the end of the world if we dont
like you said, its not a great QB class outside of the first 5 picks or so… if we stick with moore for next season, i feel he’ll only get better having a full training camp as the starter
el presidente 00 - January 2, 2012
but moore isnt the long term solution and if its not this year, its gotta be next year to get us a franchise qb for a good 10 yrs
el presidente 00 - January 2, 2012
Yep, definitely.
Moore’s pretty much winging it right now, so he’ll probably appreciate an actual offseason of conditioning and film study. In that scenario, we can get Tyler Wilson or someone else in 2013. I can live with this.
It sounds ridiculous, but our defense is rather young, and I am dead set on locking it up at the two spots I mentioned earlier. I think our safeties are absolute garbage, and you’d likely see a noticeable improvement in Davis and Smith if they had a big-time safety providing help over the top and cleaning up their respective messes.
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
In terms of OLB, if we drafted Mercilus AND Bruce Irvin, that would be a huge draft
The Earl - January 2, 2012
lol. Oh my
Both of those guys are ridiculous. Mercilus will destroy in the NFL.
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
Mercilus reminds me of Aldon Smith
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
I would accept not getting a QB
because our defense would be outrageous. We might get 60 sacks next year.
The Earl - January 2, 2012
And I think we could get Mercilus at 9 (he will storm up draft boards)
and Irvin in the second.
The Earl - January 2, 2012
And how cool would it be to have a Dolphins jersey that said Mercilus (merciless)?
The Earl - January 2, 2012
Not as cool as one that said RG3 but it is what it is.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
Yeah, it's tough to say where Mercilus will go
If we’re picking ninth, I’d consider taking Riley Reiff, just because he’s one of the best OT to come out in a looooooooong time.
I wish Tyler Wilson would come out this year. Maybe he’ll change his mind if he has an amazing Cotton Bowl performance.
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
Or we could take Brandon Weeden
Who could very well blow it up against Stanford tonight. His arm strength reminds me of Jay Cutler.
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
Not in the first round, obviously
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
Thats the game I am looking forward to.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
Same here. Good stuff!
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
But this game is very entertaining.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
I just don't like him because he's already 29 or something
The Earl - January 2, 2012
How comfortable would you be with a trade deal involving Long
that netted us Luck/Griffin and Reiff?
The Earl - January 2, 2012
So Long for the first pick?
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
well maybe some filler in there, but yeah
The Earl - January 2, 2012
I mean if Long's not worth the 1st overall now, after increasin his value
why was he worth it in 2008?
The Earl - January 2, 2012
I agree his value had to have jumped, as long as the injury thing does not pop up
21Dave - January 2, 2012
He is worth 2 or 3 first rounders so...............
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
I'm sure we could swindle Indy out of a few 1sts
The Earl - January 2, 2012
I'd consider the Long/Luck swap if we got Reiff to play LT
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
There you go.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
Good God that kid is fast!
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
Snoop Dogg was his youth coach
and gave him the nickname “Black Mamba.”
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
Believe it or not, that kid actually LOST in the 200M sprint
To George Farmer, who is a receiver at USC.
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
Yeah but some guys are just faster with all the pads on. That guy is one of them. Damn!
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
George Farmer is just insanely fast, too. But yeah, it's a lot of fun to watch DeAnthony Thomas run the football
Speed kills!
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
Another reason I loved Jimmy. He built those deadly Canes team on that concept.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
*teams
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
Wow this game is crazy!
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
sucks to be on defense right now... cant stop the offense and no rest at all
el presidente 00 - January 2, 2012
Oregon is just ugly fast on offense, while Wisconsin is really, REALLY physical.
Great match-up.
kmb8488 - January 2, 2012
Oh hell someone made a defensive play.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
Good evening boys and girls, children of all ages
phinsphan85 - January 2, 2012
Hello
The Earl - January 2, 2012
There he is!
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
What's the news punk?
Other than that stuff you read about
phinsphan85 - January 2, 2012
Punk? Last person to call me that was a Jets fan. That hurts.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
Lol I was going to say "sir" punk
Would that help?
phinsphan85 - January 2, 2012
LOL Not really.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
haha. Did you guys sign Darvish yet?
phinsphan85 - January 2, 2012
No. I expect it will go down to the line like these things always do.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
That's a fumble
The Earl - January 2, 2012
Lol Dave did do that post about greens and Flynn
phinsphan85 - January 2, 2012
Yeah it was deep or not. I am not sure.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
So how do we feel about that Dave Toub fella?
Never heard of him
phinsphan85 - January 2, 2012
Due diligence... nothing more
The Earl - January 2, 2012
My hunch would be Chudzinski...
he seems good with QB development.
The Earl - January 2, 2012
He gets my vote. Where do I vote anyhow?
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
In the "suggestion box"
phinsphan85 - January 2, 2012
But thats my email.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
I heard we are going after the Polian's
21Dave - January 2, 2012
Stop.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
lol
phinsphan85 - January 2, 2012
nice fanpost Dave!
phinsphan85 - January 2, 2012
Thanks
21Dave - January 2, 2012
Thats what I heard. and Ross is flying Indy to talk with Manning and to go see Flynn
21Dave - January 2, 2012
Don't think that just because you are a personal friend I can not ban you for making me insane.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
I will log on as someone else
21Dave - January 2, 2012
Yeah but its all from the same IP address.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
not if I use a different computer
21Dave - January 2, 2012
Um yeah it will still come right back to you.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
I also heard we trade our 2nd for Tebow
21Dave - January 2, 2012
Texy Pooh what do you think of Morris
21Dave - January 2, 2012
The cat?
I hate cats!
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
I hate cats also, but Raheem Morris
21Dave - January 2, 2012
No... Tampa quit on him mid season
The Earl - January 2, 2012
Shit we quit on T.S. 2 years ago well the fans did
21Dave - January 2, 2012
opps sorry for the S word, how do I delete it
21Dave - January 2, 2012
I think he just got fired for having a team that sucked.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
I would post the link, but we all remember how that went down for me
21Dave - January 2, 2012
LOL
phinsphan85 - January 2, 2012
Wow Holmes is trash, I hope they cut his but, nevermind I hope they keep him and bench him the whole year. What a baby!!!
21Dave - January 2, 2012
That franchise is worse off than we are
The Earl - January 2, 2012
Did you pull a "Nicky" in the "Hopefully our future QB" Fanshot? lol
phinsphan85 - January 2, 2012
LOL... I knew someone would see that
That’s how every Flynn post will get responded to from this point on, if I choose to respond to them.
The Earl - January 2, 2012
LOL
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
You can only say "That's a bad idea" so many times in so many different ways
The Earl - January 2, 2012
Oh, the best was when he made a direct "LOL" reply to a particular comment
I think It was a poll suggesting what to do in the draft and someone said “You forget the option-we don’t need a QB”.
phinsphan85 - January 2, 2012
I like Oregon's uniforms
The Earl - January 2, 2012
The helmets are awesome.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
LOL @ Brent Musberger
“Both of these teams came in here looking for a W.” No kidding? And you know how they are going to get it? By not holding anything back!
The Earl - January 2, 2012
Brent Musberger= captain obvious !
daytonadolfan - January 2, 2012
OK I'm using Mozilla Firefox now
I downloaded it after reading the other post where Brantner I think was having a problem with the sidebar stories. I was having the same issue
phinsphan85 - January 2, 2012
I've been using mozilla for about 6 months now, mainly because explorer kept giving me virises
It seems a little slower to me, and have to try websites a couple of times now and then to get a good connection, but it’s much safer than explorer.
daytonadolfan - January 2, 2012
Yeah I'm glad I decided to get Mozilla again
I always used it but got a new computer then became too lazy to download it. So far so good!
phinsphan85 - January 2, 2012
The Rooney rule is out of the way-uh I mean Todd Bowles was officially interviewed
phinsphan85 - January 2, 2012
I hate that we have to have a rule like that
The Earl - January 2, 2012
Yeah the spirit of the rule is a good thing.
I think its good in a way. Look at the Steelers. They interviewed their coach just to cover the rule and were so blown away by him that he got the job. Otherwise maybe it never happens.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
I agree...
it’s just a shame that in 2012, the rule has to exist in order for minority coaching candidates to even get a chance.
The Earl - January 2, 2012
Racism is still alive and kicking no matter what certain politicians want to claim.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
It's a learning process for a lot of people
I grew up surrounded by it, but as a kid my father and mother both worked with and became good friends with people of all races , as did I in school. i never understood why people hate each other because they are a different color, but a lot of it is generational. At least around here, the more rural, the more racist.
daytonadolfan - January 2, 2012
Yeah. Its all good around here for the most part but go out to west Texas and its terrible.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
Yeah, I actually feel bad for some minority candidates.. It's like some must have the feeling they have a 0% chance and are only getting interviewed bc of the rule
That’s how the Steelers actually hired Tomlin I think, he wasn’t expected to get the job but they ended up liking him. But for the most part, I think the rule is abused
phinsphan85 - January 2, 2012
yeah, but it's a damn shame, in this day and age , that a man can't just get a shot at a job on just his merit's
regardless of his race. But some of the old world thinking still exists, SMH .
daytonadolfan - January 2, 2012
Thats true. And for that reason, sadly you still have to have these rules. I think if the NFL was not still run by a
bunch of old white guys (not that they are racist but still have the stereotypes of old in their heads) it might be different and like anything it will change on its own eventually but for now its probably best that they leave it in.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
Hopefully Tomlin will help more get hired
IV think Crennel is a good coach too. He just had a shitty Cleveland team. I’d like to see KC keep him
phinsphan85 - January 2, 2012
I* .. I didn’t take any IVs that I know of
phinsphan85 - January 2, 2012
ducks and badgers are some vicious beast's, lol good game so far
daytonadolfan - January 2, 2012
In real life a duck has about zero chance against the badger unless it flys away first.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
Or unless the duck is "packin'', lol
daytonadolfan - January 2, 2012
Are you sir suggesting that a duck could figure out how to use a firearm? And if so what kind of firearm?
Are these special guns made for little duck feet? I need to know.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
have you ever seen howard the duck?? and it probably would be a "feather weight glock"
with a quack activated firing mechanism ! If you buy this , I got some property you might be interested in…. lol
daytonadolfan - January 2, 2012
I remember that movie but not sure I ever saw it.
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
see , the ducks beat the badgers, lol ... those are special forces ducks !
daytonadolfan - January 2, 2012
Speed kills!
texascowpunk - January 2, 2012
