@ArmandoSalguero Armando Salguero Source tells me Green Bay OC Joe Philbin, whose son drowned last week, is ready to relocate and take on new job as Miami HC if job offered. Jan 17 via TweetDeckFavoriteRetweetReply
Hope he isn’t too distracted about the stuff WRT his son. Maybe relocating would be best for him afterall. Also, didn’t Tony Dungy deal with his son committing suicide?
Botttom line with the Senior Bowl in 11 days they need to get the coaching staff sorted out and soon.
and my other brother and sister were 5 & 3 at the time (I was 17, going on 18). I had no choice but to step up and keep the household above water. Sometimes you just do what you have to do in order to get through the day. Looking back at it, it is no wonder I failed College, with working 30+ hours a week, taking care of the house, watching kids and still finding time to party…….. I guess I could have done the responsible thing and study instead of partying. lol
Philbin comes in, gives the Phins the kick in the dorsal they need. We go from obscurity to playoffs. And when interviewed, he (and the team) say they did it for his son.
Cut, stop cameras, to post production. Roll credits! The Phins are back!
They may have not wanted to approach philbin, thinking he was mourning
but it sounds like the best thing for him would be to relocate, and bury himself in his work, For all we know he may have reached out to us. Some people deal with grief in different way’s and his may be to take a challenge (and we are it !) and make something to honor his son. That kind of drive and effort on his part may be the “kick in the dorsal” ( as phinomenol put it , lol) that we need.
Yeah like I said after the news came down, If I were the Phins I would have just contacted his agent
and let him know that we either were or were not interested. If we were in fact still interested I would have also stated that if at this point he was not in the frame of mind of making such a move that we understood, send our condolences and wished him all the best.

Hold on there. We still have to get philbin, and we still need to work on that success thing. As is said in a pretty famous indian movie “The story is not yet finished, my friend” (roughly translated).
if football is indeed fixed. Sending Philbin to the Dolphins to become a succesful NFL coach and take this team to the promised land would make a great story, and an even better movie
Tim Tebow would be playing in the superbowl this year. Noone has been a bigger story, more polarizing figure or wider draw than he has, in my opinion. The only other "story"would be Harbaugh (the 49 ers version).
Going WWE style, the only way to end this would be a Super-Har-Bowl showoff or begin a game of one ups-manship. One brother making it, the other missing out and feeling driven to make it next year (losing out to us, of course).
Tebow losing this year is just the beginning of the story. He’s going to take the next couple years to get better and better then win it all. He will be a story for years to come.

Really dislike the fact that he's getting a 2nd interview
He had a real opportunity to do some fun things with Tebow from a scheme perspective but ran some Pee Wee league level type of option offense with little to no counters. That could have been Fox putting the clamps down but it’s up to the OC to convince the coach.
Mike Tomlin served in the league only 5 years before becoming HC and he’s doing a very good job in Pitt. Jim Harbaugh never even coached in the NFL and he’s already winning with a 49ers team that did awful last year. Chudzinksi’s been in the league for about 8 years and still hasn’t been given the opportunity. He’s proven he’s a very good offensive coordinator with what he did in Miami (Hurricanes) in 2001 and Carolina in 2011. He needs his shot IMO…however, I do believe that Joe Philbin is more “NFL ready” to become a head coach.
fuck this, i want and we need a coach that has actual head coaching experience in the NFL and success being a head coach in the NFL
there a ton of them out there, i.e. Gruden, Cowher, Billick, Dungy, etc. Why r we going for these shit Coordinaters, that not only have zero head coaching experience, but haven’t even had that much success at their current jobs. This team needs a coach that demands respect from their players, and a big factor in that is previous success. But as my buddy pointed out the other day, a reason these big name coaches, i.e. Fisher, may not wanna come here is because of the circus Ross has created around this franchise. He has shown that he wants this franchise to be more entertainment than actual football. And his insistence on keeping Ireland the final decision maker, after he has proven to be incompetent, is more off-putting to candidates. Ross is making a mockery of a once proud franchise, and continues to bury it into the ground with each passing day. He continues to embarrass this franchise, starting with selling shares to celebrity owners, to the complete failure of courting Harbaugh, to this recent fiasco with Fisher (who i’m glad didn’t sign, but thats beside the point). He is pushing away fans, and is just a cancer for this franchise, and the NFL in general.
Cowher wants to stay at CBS
Dungy wants to stay at NBC and work on his All Pro Dad stuff.
Fisher wanted the Rams job from the start.
Who’s left?
Why do so many people get pissed off that the team isn’t going after coaches that have said they don’t want to coach? How well did getting a Jimmy Johnson, who was ready for retirement and didn’t really want to coach, do for the Dolphins?
Do you know what he did before getting the job in Green Bay and taking his team to the Superbowl and winning it?
He was the OC for the San Francisco 49ers in 2005. Do you know what his unit was ranked that year? Last, the worst offense in the NFL that year (granted there were alot of injuries and a rookie QB) but none the least they were last.
Jump forward to 2011. Do you know his HEAD coaching record since?
8 – 8
13 – 3
6 – 10
11 – 5
10 – 6
15 -1
So don’t but in too much that our new coach never held a head coaching job before, sometimes it can be a blessing in disguise ;)
JJ's dream Job was to Coach the Dolphins. He wanted to coach the Dolphins.
If I remember right he had family issues that made him leave. An the other coaches just don’t seem to want to coach our team. If certain teams had an opening they would be coaching. IMO. Other than Dungy.
Because there are plenty of coaches with experience, but...
…the front office, in order to protect Ireland (conjecture), will not hire ANYONE who might otherwise be a challenge to Ireland. This next coach and his tenure is all about Ireland. If Ireland doesn’t bring in enough talent to bring this team to the playoffs within 2 years, Ireland AND the new coach will be gone. THAT is why no one with any reputation wants to be anywhere near this franchise.
All those BIG NAME coaches are comfy no longer coaching.
With the exception of Fisher (who I don’t think was a big catch anyway). Harbaugh, we went after him but you have no idea what HE was looking for at that time. Give Ross credit for at least going after him.
As for the orange carpet, Ross is controlling what he understands AND can control: the atmosphere at the game. He can’t suit up and play, he can’t gameplan during the week, he can’t coach on Sunday. But he can make every effort to surround the game with the best atmosphere possible. And once we start winning and the stadium is full and suddenly everyone WANTS to come hours early for the atmosphere then party hard after a terrific home victory over a tough opponent, he will look like a genius. Lack of vision can kill a dream.
As for celebrity owners, please explain how that affects the offense, defense or special teams. Remember, as much as this is our game it’s also his business. Minority owners help him absorb losses and generate extra capitol. Capitol that can
1- be used to improve the stadium/atmosphere
2- pay a top tier coach
3- keep him from realizing as much loss in revenue so he can actually stick around for a while and not cut his losses and pass us off to another owner (who may not care as much, could move the team and may once again know nothing about football)
Philbin would bring some meaning and emotion to this team
The Dolphins need that and I feel they would put in an extra effort to win for a coach that has gone through so much recently. Also, I hope Bowles is given the DC position. He has the respect and familiarity with the team. Should be a fun week ahead..
the way he worked with Tebow and created a scheme to for him and make it to the playoffs was impressive. Completely scrapped a scheme for a different universe of QB and gave the kid a chance to win, that kind of determination is admirable.
Too much pocket passing along with a simplistic option game. The problem is that NFL coordinators are slow to adapt to these things when compared to college coaches. Teams figured out the best way to defend the option and were able to shut down Denver.
The reason Denver made the playoffs was because of a good defense and the fact that they HAD to run the ball with Tebow as QB. That OLine is a good run blocking one and that should have been recognized in the preseason. I really wasn’t impressed with much of anything McCoy did this year.
but by virtue of utilizing the strengths of the team and the QB, that created a good scheme. One that would not have worked with just any QB. Nor would Tebow have been as successful in any other scheme. A good scheme maximized your strengths and covers up/minimizes your weaknesses. Job accomplished!
That’s my point. It didn’t cover up Tebow’s weaknesses. It didn’t exacerbate them but they were still plainly there. Covering up his weaknesses would have involved increasing the option game. Add a jet sweep to the zone read to hold the LBs and safeties, have a TE pull across the formation on options looking for a shovel pass, fake the option and pass the ball. What was run in Denver did not help Tebow as much as it could.
Teams figured out how to stop the option and McCoy had no answers. He built an offensive scheme that was way to shallow to get the job done. If Denver doesn’t have that defense or teams didn’t inexplicably play a prevent defense at the start of every 4th quarter (this stopped after the Bears’ game) McCoy would look awful.
It was still just as effective as every going into the playoffs. He is inaccurate on long balls. So, with the option, if you stack the box, it gives him 1 on 1 matchups. He can have a little extra leeway at that point to heave it up and let his receiver do the work.
I also contend no OC who tried to force Tebow into a typical scheme would have had the team in the playoffs. People are so quick to criticize what would or e would not work in the NFL. But McCoy adapted his style and made it work. Yes, next year will be a new challenge, to evolve it so it didn’t get predictable. But in terms of a new scheme mid season, he did a heck of a job
Denver was in the bottom 3rd of teams as far as yards/play. Link. I agree that McCoy should get credit for running some option stuff but it isn’t that hard to add some counters. He never did. I think I saw a mid-line option against the Patriots but Tebow misread it and they didn’t try it again.
I don’t think they should have tried a typical scheme. I think they should have gone heavy on the option based football. They did, to a degree, but they never developed a full scheme. Just a half of one.
Denver score 20 points or more in 4 out of 13 games with Tebow as the starter. With Orton they scored 20 or more points in 4 out of 5 games. Yes, they won games but they won because of their defense and in spite of their offense.
I’d be more than happy to believe McCoy is a good offensive coach who will bring an exciting offense to the Dolphins, but I’m just not seeing it.
I am not pulling for McCoy to be our next HC. I redirect what he did, but that’s not my first choice.
Having said that, the big reason Denver was not scoring over 20 points as often had more to do with running the ball much more, which in turn eats up more clock, yielding less possessions. Even if you don’t score, you keep your opponent off the field and give their QB less chances to be on the field to score. Yes, that put the onus on the defense, but is a sound tactic employed by many defensive minded teams.
if you are running the ball 90% of the game, including your QB. Most running plays are only a few yards (2 to 6) while most pass plays are at least 5 to 10. So the more you run, the lower your yards per play average is going to be unless you are consistently busting 10 runs.
they said that about Belichick after cleveland I think too
not saying Nolan is the next Belechick but making a point that sometimes the guys second stint as HC is where they take off.
again – thats not a given with Nolan – but why does anyone think Bowles is a better candidate than Nolan would have been …. thats the part i don;t understand …… and I am not saying I know – i dont.
With that reasoning why would you hire a guy with a losing record 4 out of 5 years?
Which, by the way, was Bill Bellichick. Its because they’ve proven it time after time as a coordinator. Not these greenhorns that we are considering for the HC. A guy who was an OL coach/Offensive Coordinator who doesn’t call his team’s plays, a OC that his only claim to fame is that he designed an offense for the most limited starting QB in the league, and a guy who was a DB coach who had the same record in 3 games that his fired boss had in the last 6 games.
Listen, I wanted Tony Sparano gone. However, I’d take him back in a heartbeat with the level of candidates they are looking at for this job. These 3 guys are not 10’s competing for the beauty crown. They’re a bunch of 3’s at a freak ball that none of the pretty girls wanted to be near.
Our expectations have been lowered by a bungling Owner and (seemingly) unconfident GM, that want zero challenges to their authority, in a sport that is built upon challenges and being pushed to be the best.
I pray that we strike gold with one of these guys. Been a Dolphins fan for 43 years. However, I believe we are being sold a bill of goods that is going to explode in our face. Again, I PRAY that I can come back in two years an admit I was wrong. However, I believe in two years we will be going thru this again, looking for a GM and a Coach, which is what we should’ve been doing this time.
Cuz Nolan sucked as a HC? Nolan as H.C. would scare me. We need somone who could develop a QB. Alex Smith looks good under Jim H, Under Nolan he looked like a lost cause.
from working with him first hand, they knew something about him to indicate he would not be a good HC yet. Maybe he has skill but lacks leadership. Perhaps he can’t command the respect needed as a HC. Perhaps he is had already complained all year, who knows. I think if it would have kept him there, I would have at least interviewed him, but I’m sure billionaires aren’t in the business of placating subordinates. But again, we don’t know the whole story.
also read on Green Bay site that every year he was there it end with him getting promoted.
Starting in 2003 the man rocketed up the ranks within the organization, to me that’s a sign that the guy is talented and GB knew he was an asset to their team and didn’t want to risk the chance of another team offering him a better job somewher else.
Bring on bevis and butthead as GM and Owner. McCoy is horrible he gave the nfl the worst offense of all year he took Tebow WMcG and made them worse he do bad bring on a gimp team score 14 points bring on a decent team lucky to score seven. McCoy would be the worst hire and we can watch the dolphins slide down the scale an be considered the worst team in history will make the Bucs look like mannings team.
Dirk Koetter, offensive coordinator, Jacksonville Jaguars: The offensive numbers the Jaguars have put up under Koetter are impressive considering he has been limited by a lack of big-play receivers and an average quarterback. Koetter didn’t have great success as a head coach at Arizona State, but I think he’s better suited to be an NFL head coach. In college, there are too many boosters to please and too much recruiting. Koetter is a football guy. In the NFL, he can be more of a coach. He wowed the Broncos brass with his interview this winter, but they opted instead for John Fox, who had more experience and had a defensive background. Koetter’s time is coming.
Restoring this franchise to greatness means doing it in spite of our owner and FO
…a very hard thing for any coach to do. There are reasons that so-called ‘quality’ candidates (read: Fisher and Harbaugh) havent exactly been kicking our doors down.
I’d rather have a coach who wants to be here, who has something to prove. I’ve been on the fence about all the coaching canidates so far, but it appears as if Philbin is taking the lead.
I would say make a play for him, but by no means have him as the annoited starter. These QB's need someone to push them...lest they become another Sanchez
I whole heartedly agree. The spirit of competition makes you rise to a higher level. If you just saunter on the field and know it’s all yours, often times complacency sets in you stunt your growth.
In every right has Matt moore earned the right to start, but given Flynns ability to move up the field, i think once moore has proved he isnt our starter, we bring Flynn in. Idk if hes the answer, but then again, Aaron Rodgers had to prove himself as well.
An example of a HC that had a losing record while leading one team and turned it around with the Pats.Bellichick was considered a defensive genius by his peers even before he took the HC job at Cleveland.Dont make any comparisons to Fisher or any other HC canidates that are available they arent valid.Nolan is considered a very good defensive coach, but he has already had one try as a HC and I dont think he was ever as highly regarded as say Bellichick. The Dolphins need a lot more players before any coach can make a difference.
It has nothing to do with Belichick. He’s got a great pedigree and a great football mind. Yeah, he didn’t do great in SF, but neither did anyone else. Somebody will give him another chance.
i really think this organization is lost…… was anyone really impressed with Denver’s offense last year – they were like watching paint dry until the last part of the 4th quarter.
good 3-4 DCs are not plenteous – they need to close a deal soon – who do they think the can get for DC this late?
McCoy would be such a non-event .... for a new owner wanting to make a splash....
another mediocre year coming. At least with Philbin we get the potential of his QB coach from Greenbay, potential of Flynn & someone used to working with him.
No “offense” but I see nothing exciting about McCoy….totally whiffed it by not getting Zimmer….same shit different year.
Hope Clayton is wrong!
Anyone who knows anything about footbal should be impressed.
McCoy designed an offense that allowed a QB with a completion rate below 50% win games with regularity and advance to the second round of the playoffs. And he did it in the middle of the season.
Ok looks like they've narrowed it down to 3?
Thinking Philbin may be their guy.

so he worked for Fox his whole career
only OC for the last 2 seasons?
PASS
scrappy the wildcat - January 17, 2012
Really dislike the fact that he's getting a 2nd interview
He had a real opportunity to do some fun things with Tebow from a scheme perspective but ran some Pee Wee league level type of option offense with little to no counters. That could have been Fox putting the clamps down but it’s up to the OC to convince the coach.
evenflow58 - January 18, 2012
More likely the reality of trying to play Pop Warner football in the NFL.

PhinNomenol! - January 17, 2012 via Android app
Who really knows when someone is "NFL ready"?
AlejandroN - January 17, 2012

kermit the frogger29 - January 17, 2012
fuck this, i want and we need a coach that has actual head coaching experience in the NFL and success being a head coach in the NFL
there a ton of them out there, i.e.
MiamihastheDolphins.... - January 17, 2012
Because you can not force guys who do not want to coach to coach.
texascowpunk - January 17, 2012
Gruden wants to stay at ESPN
Cowher wants to stay at CBS
Dungy wants to stay at NBC and work on his All Pro Dad stuff.
Fisher wanted the Rams job from the start.
Who’s left?
Why do so many people get pissed off that the team isn’t going after coaches that have said they don’t want to coach? How well did getting a Jimmy Johnson, who was ready for retirement and didn’t really want to coach, do for the Dolphins?

Relax my man
I’m going to give you one name – Mike McCarthy

FinFanFromCA - January 18, 2012
Because there are plenty of coaches with experience, but...
…the front office, in order to protect Ireland (conjecture), will not hire ANYONE who might otherwise be a challenge to Ireland. This next coach and his tenure is all about Ireland. If Ireland doesn’t bring in enough talent to bring this team to the playoffs within 2 years, Ireland AND the new coach will be gone. THAT is why no one with any reputation wants to be anywhere near this franchise.
dab415217 - January 18, 2012

The Dolphins need that and I feel they would put in an extra effort to win for a coach that has gone through so much recently. Also, I hope Bowles is given the DC position. He has the respect and familiarity with the team. Should be a fun week ahead..
Dolphinsfreak34 - January 17, 2012
what makes Mcoy such a hot commodity?
Denver’s offense was nothing to write home about in terms or yards or points.
McCoy would be a dissappointment to me ….

MiamihastheDolphins.... - January 17, 2012

scrappy the wildcat - January 17, 2012
For me...
the way he worked with Tebow and created a scheme to for him and make it to the playoffs was impressive. Completely scrapped a scheme for a different universe of QB and gave the kid a chance to win, that kind of determination is admirable.
PhinNomenol! - January 17, 2012 via Android app
That was NOT a good offensive scheme
Too much pocket passing along with a simplistic option game. The problem is that NFL coordinators are slow to adapt to these things when compared to college coaches. Teams figured out the best way to defend the option and were able to shut down Denver.
The reason Denver made the playoffs was because of a good defense and the fact that they HAD to run the ball with Tebow as QB. That OLine is a good run blocking one and that should have been recognized in the preseason. I really wasn’t impressed with much of anything McCoy did this year.
evenflow58 - January 18, 2012
You may not like the scheme
but by virtue of utilizing the strengths of the team and the QB, that created a good scheme. One that would not have worked with just any QB. Nor would Tebow have been as successful in any other scheme. A good scheme maximized your strengths and covers up/minimizes your weaknesses. Job accomplished!
PhinNomenol! - January 18, 2012 via Android app
No, job not accomplished
That’s my point. It didn’t cover up Tebow’s weaknesses. It didn’t exacerbate them but they were still plainly there. Covering up his weaknesses would have involved increasing the option game. Add a jet sweep to the zone read to hold the LBs and safeties, have a TE pull across the formation on options looking for a shovel pass, fake the option and pass the ball. What was run in Denver did not help Tebow as much as it could.
Teams figured out how to stop the option and McCoy had no answers. He built an offensive scheme that was way to shallow to get the job done. If Denver doesn’t have that defense or teams didn’t inexplicably play a prevent defense at the start of every 4th quarter (this stopped after the Bears’ game) McCoy would look awful.
evenflow58 - January 18, 2012
No team figured out how to stop it
It was still just as effective as every going into the playoffs.
PhinNomenol! - January 18, 2012 via Android app
Um, no
Denver was in the bottom 3rd of teams as far as yards/play.
I’d be more than happy to believe McCoy is a good offensive coach who will bring an exciting offense to the Dolphins, but I’m just not seeing it.
evenflow58 - January 18, 2012
For the record
I am not pulling for McCoy to be our next HC. I redirect what he did, but that’s not my first choice.
Having said that, the big reason Denver was not scoring over 20 points as often had more to do with running the ball much more, which in turn eats up more clock, yielding less possessions. Even if you don’t score, you keep your opponent off the field and give their QB less chances to be on the field to score. Yes, that put the onus on the defense, but is a sound tactic employed by many defensive minded teams.
PhinNomenol! - January 18, 2012 via Android app
That would be fine if they moved the ball but they didn't
Their yards/play was 24th out of 32 teams.
evenflow58 - January 18, 2012
Which is to be expected
if you are running the ball 90% of the game, including your QB. Most running plays are only a few yards (2 to 6) while most pass plays are at least 5 to 10. So the more you run, the lower your yards per play average is going to be unless you are consistently busting 10 runs.
PhinNomenol! - January 18, 2012 via Android app
Why was Bowles a candidate but not Nolan?????
makes absolutely ZERO sense to me – who can answer that?
scrappy the wildcat - January 17, 2012
Nolan has never been known to hang around a team for very long
the longgest he has ever stayed with a NFL team was the Denver Broncos and that was only for 5 years (1987-1992).
kermit the frogger29 - January 17, 2012
that's the reason they didn't interview him?
Fisher stayed in TEN for 17 yrs – but you don;t see stuff like that often
scrappy the wildcat - January 17, 2012
The same reason why not a single team interviewed him for a HC job.
He hasn’t proven he can do it yet. He was 18-37 as a head coach.
That’s 4 worse years than Sparano. And, we all saw how well Sparano was loved on his way out. Why would we want to go after a guy with a .327.
Kevin Nogle - January 17, 2012
point taken - but the out of the remaining candidates
which one has PROVEN they can be a HC in the NFL.
none – the proven guy was Fisher.
scrappy the wildcat - January 17, 2012
Oh paleez...
He’s proven he’s mediocre
Alpha6 - January 17, 2012
exactly my thoughts
54 - January 17, 2012
they said that about Belichick after cleveland I think too
not saying Nolan is the next Belechick but making a point that sometimes the guys second stint as HC is where they take off.
again – thats not a given with Nolan – but why does anyone think Bowles is a better candidate than Nolan would have been …. thats the part i don;t understand …… and I am not saying I know – i dont.
scrappy the wildcat - January 18, 2012
Without doing any research:
Belichick would seem to be the exception as opposed to the rule.
evenflow58 - January 18, 2012
However, I believe in two years we will be going thru this again, looking for a GM and a Coach, which is what we should’ve been doing this time.
dab415217 - January 18, 2012
Cuz Nolan sucked as a HC? Nolan as H.C. would scare me. We need somone who could develop a QB. Alex Smith looks good under Jim H, Under Nolan he looked like a lost cause.
54 - January 17, 2012 via mobile
Agree 54. Nolan figured out he is one of the best D cords in the league, and sucked as a head coach. I hope he stays, but I doubt it

scrappy the wildcat - January 17, 2012
Bowles and Ireland have history
and I get the feeling that Nolan wasn’t crazy about the way Ireland handled Soprano exit either.
kermit the frogger29 - January 17, 2012
I'm assuming
from working with him first hand, they knew something about him to indicate he would not be a good HC yet.
PhinNomenol! - January 17, 2012 via Android app
while Philbin doesnt call the plays
He still institutes the gameplan. I still like him as a HC
Patssuck456 - January 17, 2012
also read on Green Bay site that every year he was there it end with him getting promoted.
Starting in 2003 the man rocketed up the ranks within the organization, to me that’s a sign that the guy is talented and GB knew he was an asset to their team and didn’t want to risk the chance of another team offering him a better job somewher else.

Has anyone even considered this guy?

BTW to all that use Bellichick as
An example of a HC that had a losing record while leading one team and turned it around with the Pats.Bellichick was considered a defensive genius by his peers even before he took the HC job at Cleveland.Dont make any comparisons to Fisher or any other HC canidates that are available they arent valid.Nolan is considered a very good defensive coach, but he has already had one try as a HC and I dont think he was ever as highly regarded as say Bellichick. The Dolphins need a lot more players before any coach can make a difference.

I think Nolan will be a great HC one day.
It has nothing to do with Belichick. He’s got a great pedigree and a great football mind. Yeah, he didn’t do great in SF, but neither did anyone else. Somebody will give him another chance.

John Clayton is saying McCoy is the front runner
i really think this organization is lost…… was anyone really impressed with Denver’s offense last year – they were like watching paint dry until the last part of the 4th quarter.
good 3-4 DCs are not plenteous – they need to close a deal soon – who do they think the can get for DC this late?
scrappy the wildcat - January 18, 2012
Kind of an off-the-radar guy, but what’s wrong with Pepper Johnson for DC?
…and I wouldn’t say I was necessarily impressed with Denver’s offense, but remember that McCoy transformed the entire scheme because of Tebow.

MassFinFan65 - January 18, 2012
What about Bowles?
I’m torn between these three, but Bowles is no slouch if they hired him….
Alpha6 - January 18, 2012
Anyone who knows anything about footbal should be impressed.
McCoy designed an offense that allowed a QB with a completion rate below 50% win games with regularity and advance to the second round of the playoffs. And he did it in the middle of the season.
PNSter - January 18, 2012
Agreed!
If he’s such a non-event. Why is he on everyone’s radar? Would just like to keep Bowles if he loses out as HC. DC would work.
NNYPhinPhan - January 18, 2012
I hope so as well
But you can’t be mad if the guy lucks up into HC job elsewhere
PhinNomenol! - January 18, 2012 via Android app
You are correct there...but still not a impressive offense with regards to yardage & scoring
…but did well with limited resources….just sour because all my hopefuls have been axed!
MassFinFan65 - January 18, 2012
I agree but Dolphins fans love to find the negative in everything so...............
texascowpunk - January 18, 2012
Negativity is a result of years of mediocrecy!
MassFinFan65 - January 18, 2012
Hey I have been a Phins fan, a Rangers fan and a Mavs fan for a long time. Two of the three eventually came around
after much longer dry spells and eventually so will my Phins. Keep the faith!
texascowpunk - January 18, 2012
Rangers...
is that hockey or baseball?
PhinNomenol! - January 18, 2012 via Android app
Baseball.

MassFinFan65 - January 18, 2012
