Well the Pats came in with some very clever ideas and executed very well.
Orlando Franklin went down tonight but I think it was late in the third or early in the fourth quarter. I can’t even remember.

the NFL assigns Gene Steratore to this game. You know, the Pittsburgh guy who made the screwed up call against us last season.

Darron Thomas declares for the draft
The Earl - January 14, 2012
Who dat
Phinsphana - January 14, 2012
Oregon's QB
The Earl - January 14, 2012
Oh that is good
Phinsphana - January 14, 2012
Not sure where he would be graded...
I’m thinking middle rounds.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
We won’t get RG3 (too expensive) and if manning takes his talents to south beach he could be a nice project
Phinsphana - January 14, 2012
It won't be that expensive
The jets moved from 17 to 5 with a 1st, 2nd, and three crappy players. We can probably go from 8/9 to 3 cheaper than that.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
that was the trade to draft sanchez
The Earl - January 14, 2012
I know
I still don’t like our chances with the skins and browns in front of us
Phinsphana - January 14, 2012
Just let the FO do their job and we will see what happens.
Dolfan88 - January 14, 2012
You can bet that Ross will give the mandate to get a QB
and Ross is a Baylor alum as well. It just makes sense.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
THIS^^^^^
Dolfan88 - January 14, 2012
Really Ross went to Baylor
I always thought he was a Michigan man. Well The more you know
Phinsphana - January 14, 2012
Sorry... I meant Ireland
Ross is a Michigan alum.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
Well we were both right in a way
I should explain I really do want RG3 I just don’t see it happening
Phinsphana - January 14, 2012
It may not
If we try and can’t, then we can’t be too upset. We could trade down, pick up a pass rusher or QB late in the first.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
Agreed
Phinsphana - January 14, 2012
Damn that was a long return by Woodhead. Oh, and...

I am so sick of people seeing ex-Dolphins and complaining about Miami having gotten rid of them....
When all we here all year is how “So-and-so is a bust, and he needs to be cut.” “Why did we get this loser?”
We as a fan base refuse to allow someone time to develop, then complain when they are good somewhere else.
Kevin Nogle - January 14, 2012
We want them to be probowlers from the start, LOL
Dolfan88 - January 14, 2012
I agree...
Welker would have been great here too if we had Brady.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
Hell ginn would be great here with brady
Phinsphana - January 14, 2012
I don't know...
The Earl - January 14, 2012
Ginn hadn't really lit it up in SF...
except in the return game. still is too inconsistent as a receiver (same as he was here).
Masatoshi-san - January 14, 2012 via Android app
Sarcasm people.
Phinsphana - January 14, 2012
LOL I personally am tired of the bitching period. Complain when its due but its like an epidemic on this site.
Reminds me too much of GGN for my taste. I am going to fight back damn it!
texascowpunk - January 14, 2012
Give em hell TCP, I'm with you bud!
Dolfan88 - January 14, 2012
amen bro, although I think i may have asked for ginn's head on a spike a few times
but I digress, patience has not been a virtue on this site for a while.
daytonadolfan - January 14, 2012
If Moore had missed as many as Brady has they would want him tarred, frathered and rode out of town on a rail!
Dolfan88 - January 14, 2012
I want Brady tarred, feathered and run out of town...
Does that count?
Masatoshi-san - January 14, 2012 via Android app
works for me, but can we light the tar on fire?

daytonadolfan - January 14, 2012
Of course, if we were in the playoffs, they might not be doing that
Winning cures much.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
I think if Moore led this team to the SB some would still complain about him!
Dolfan88 - January 14, 2012
I dislike Chad Henne with the best of them
but if he had led us to a SB, I would have gladly eaten some crow.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
I actually thought Henne did well before his injury this season...
but I think that’s just the Michigan fan in me coming out.

Kevin Nogle - January 14, 2012
Truth
The Earl - January 14, 2012
Gronk and Hernandez are damn good
Patssuck456 - January 14, 2012
They are, but the Pats have missed plenty of other draft picks
specifically on defense.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
They really need a passrusher
Phinsphana - January 14, 2012
Kronck looks good
phinfansc1980 - January 14, 2012
What's everybody's vote for 1st round pick this year?
I was originally thinking RT, but now I’m thinking trade down and try to get a Pass Rusher like Courtney Upshaw.
Drumzan - January 14, 2012
Trade up for Griffin
The Earl - January 14, 2012
Trade down for future picks
Phinsphana - January 14, 2012
If we can get a 2013 first rounder, then I would OK with that
The Earl - January 14, 2012
Trade up for Griffin too...
when are we going to be this close to a QB with that potential?
hbkDolphins - January 14, 2012
That's my first choice
but if we can’t, then trading down and getting a 2013 first rounder would be an acceptable alternative.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
Not a fan of RG3
I know I’m completely in the minority on this opinion, but if the Phins can’t miraculously trade up for Luck, going after Weeden in the 2nd round would be my next choice. Not RG3.
Drumzan - January 14, 2012
RG3 > Weeden
The Earl - January 14, 2012
I don't know man...
RG3 just seems too prone for injury. Athletic QB’s aren’t proven to win championships.
Drumzan - January 14, 2012
Rodgers, Elway, Young?
Finhead83 - January 14, 2012
Roethlisberger and Rodgers are "athletic" QBs
the problem is that people think because Griffin gets a ton of rushing yards that he’s a “run first” guy. But watch him play and you’ll see that he’s a great passer.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
RG3
Is an accurate passer when he’s on the run, and that concerns me big time when it comes to injuries. That spread offense Baylor had is an extreme spread offense. RG3 was just too all over the place for me. Does that translate to the NFL? I’m not convinced. He just has Mike Vick written all over him…and not the good Mike Vick.
Drumzan - January 14, 2012
It's no different than most spread offenses
The difference between Vick and RG3 is that RG3 is a MUCH better passer. He’s so much more accurate. Plus you don’t have to worry about him being a character issue like Vick was.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
I'll believe it when I see it.
The way I see it, RG3 isn’t going to be any better than VY, Vick, Pat White, Tebow or any other gimmick QB. Rapelessburger is good because he’s so hard to tackle. Rodgers is very athletic, but he’s not a gimmick QB. If Miami is looking for the next Marino, it definitely ain’t RG3. It’s a dedicated pocket passer with smarts and leadership like Luck or Weeden.
Drumzan - January 14, 2012
How is RG3 a gimmick QB?
VY couldn’t read defenses and Pat White was tiny and inaccurate. Tebow never was accurate. Griffin is mobile, has a good arm, and is accurate.
Finhead83 - January 14, 2012
And btw...
Steve Young and Aaron Rodgers are closer comparisons to RG3 than White or Tebow.
Finhead83 - January 14, 2012
I think you are fitting a losing battle.
Dolfan88 - January 14, 2012
fighting, Damn spelling, LOL
Dolfan88 - January 14, 2012
Have you watched their games?
RG3 is a MUCH better prospect than any of those guys, except maybe Michael Vick.
Watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMm2qGMGV8Q
The Earl - January 14, 2012
Good pocket awareness, kept his eyes down field
kept the play alive with his feet, squared his shoulders and threw a perfect strike to win the game. It’s been a long time since we saw a QB here in Miami that could kill in the 4th quarter.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
If we're talking about QBs that kill in the 4th quarter...
Tebow-time?;)

I'd rather it be RG3 time
but he has all the makings of a franchise QB. Plus we can let him develop while Moore holds down the fort for a season.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
No one is as bad as Pat White
I think he still out cold from that steelers game

The Earl - January 14, 2012
Yeah I heard he used to bullseye woomprats in his t-16

Patssuck456 - January 14, 2012
that high school offense will only cut it so long in the nfl
daytonadolfan - January 14, 2012
I hate to say this but the pats are going to be hard to beat in the playoffs.
Dolfan88 - January 14, 2012
Does Tebow have 30 yards passing yet?
hbkDolphins - January 14, 2012
28
daytonadolfan - January 14, 2012
It must be a sign that even Tebow can't beat a devil in a hoodie
Phinsphana - January 14, 2012
the dark side is strong in the hoodie

Mama says that...
Bellichick is the devil.
Masatoshi-san - January 14, 2012 via Android app
The Broncos must be suffering from the dehydration...
they just need to visualize and attack.
Masatoshi-san - January 14, 2012 via Android app
and several dropped passes
The Earl - January 14, 2012
Ball wide open and dropped it, smh.
Dolfan88 - January 14, 2012
Tebow's receivers have let him down tonight
Thomas could have caught that.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
Blowout!
Dolfan88 - January 14, 2012
OK... Denver has no pass rush and their WRs can't catch
That’s not a winning recipe for anyone.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
Gronkowski
A powerful sith you will become
Phinsphana - January 14, 2012
I know everyone missed me!
Finhead83 - January 14, 2012

Dolfan88 - January 14, 2012
well...
noone can say that this was unexpected.
Masatoshi-san - January 14, 2012 via Android app
wow, this is crazy, denver is getting exposed ! gimmicks only work for so long, as we well know (wildcat)
daytonadolfan - January 14, 2012
It has nothing to do with gimmicks
Denver can’t get any pressure and their WRs are dropping passes.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
Plus the Steelers defense was depleted (right?) and Ben was hobbled
hbkDolphins - January 14, 2012
Seems like God forgot Tebow was playing on Saturday this time, not Sunday.
Everyone makes mistakes!
Finhead83 - January 14, 2012
I blame the defense...
it was never really Brady vs Tebow, it was Brady vs the Broncos defense and obviously Brady won. Tebow hasn’t played well in the 1st Half, but he is getting no help by his receivers (how many passes have been dropped so far?). Any time a team scores 35 points on you in a half of play, there’s a defensive issue.
Masatoshi-san - January 14, 2012 via Android app
whats the TE fro Clemson's name?
Dwayne Allen? He’d look good in a Fins Uni.
Patssuck456 - January 14, 2012
Well this is fun. The Patriots came out with some great ideas and are just shreding this
man scheme. Its aweful. Talk to you guys soon and yes Patssuck Dwayne Allen :). Fantastic talent.
civwarbuff - January 14, 2012

Phinsphana - January 14, 2012
hopefully he can win one for his kid, no matter what his issues were, he was still his son.
daytonadolfan - January 14, 2012
Couldn't agree more
Phinsphana - January 14, 2012
My friends don't get it. I grew up in Maine and now live in Boston, but they still
don’t understand why I hate the Patriots so much. The only team I cheer for besides my Dolphins is whoever happens to be playing the Pats. Gronk is god up here this season, I can’t take it anymore. Help. Please.
B_Sal - January 14, 2012
Turn off your t.v. now and walk away , lol

Masatoshi-san - January 14, 2012 via Android app
That was witty
Rytackle - January 14, 2012
Haha I love this site.
Took an extended break this season from it. It was a much needed break, as things were seeming to get hostile with the passing of the torch and the turmoil of the Dolphins offseason. But things seem to be back in order now, the dust has settled and I’m looking forward to a busy offseason. Is April here yet?
B_Sal - January 14, 2012
I know it's a very, very, very, long shot, but if Drew Brees becomes a free agent
do we try and sign him?
The Earl - January 14, 2012
Yes.
B_Sal - January 14, 2012
yes, but he wont be
Rytackle - January 14, 2012
YES
Phinsphana - January 14, 2012

AnishB15 - January 14, 2012 via mobile
Tebow needs to just throw the ball into the air as high as he can
and then run under it and catch it himself.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
ill rec that
Rytackle - January 14, 2012
Tebow needs to play defense...
Middle Linebacker. Maybe then the defense will be blessed.
Masatoshi-san - January 14, 2012 via Android app
That too... and rush the passer too
The Earl - January 14, 2012
Hey Earl, what would you say about people concerned with RGIII durability in the NFL
Cam is much bigger than him
Rytackle - January 14, 2012
Well he's 6'2" and 220 pounds
so he’s not really a “little” guy. He can still bulk up to about 230 and not loose any speed. The only issue would be with concussions, but that would go for anyone really.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
What does Luck do better than RGIII?
Rytackle - January 14, 2012
????????????
Don’t know.
Dolfan88 - January 14, 2012
bacon???
daytonadolfan - January 14, 2012
nothing really, other than tackling
He just has more experiance in a pro-style offense.
AnishB15 - January 14, 2012 via mobile
Im just so skeptical towards RGIII
Rytackle - January 14, 2012
The biggest differences are that Luck plays in more of a pro-style offense
and that Luck calls plays at the line, much like Manning does. Luck’s ability to read defenses and adjust is better than some pro QBs. Griffin is behind him in those categories, which means Griffin will likely struggle a bit more than Luck at first. But both guys are extremely smart and dedicated and will have the playbook down pat before the season is over. I have no doubts that Griffin will be adept at running an offense by season’s end. And I have no doubts that he’ll learn to read defenses and adjust very quickly too. But right now, he’s behind Luck in those categories.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
sounds like a good prospect
Rytackle - January 14, 2012
Here's walterfootball's take on Griffin:
http://www.walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2012rgriffin.php
The biggest concern is him learning to play in a pro offense. The good thing is that he has good work ethic so he will work very hard to perfect his craft. If we draft him, we can sit him behind Moore, if necessary, and let him develop.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
Has Brady thrown 50 passses yet?
Dolfan88 - January 14, 2012
There it is.

A) The end of the world.
B) The day Tebow is benched.
C) All of the above.

nothing serious

The Ravens can beat this Patriots team
The Earl - January 14, 2012

Patssuck456 - January 14, 2012
The broncos might need some body bag by the end of this game
Phinsphana - January 14, 2012
I truly do feel bad for the kid. He never asked for all the hype and media attention and yet he got it and people hate him for it.
For me its nothing personal, I just cant stand people going nuts over such a crappy QB.
Patssuck456 - January 14, 2012
Agreed he never asked Espn to talk about him endlessly
Phinsphana - January 14, 2012
though if you put any other QB in Tebow's place with the surrounding cast he has...
they would still have 42 points scored on them.

Kevin Nogle - January 14, 2012
I still dont know why we cut him isn't clay listed as a TE
Phinsphana - January 14, 2012
We cut him because he was at best an average run blocker
and he wasn’t effective in the passing game. Hilliard was just as good as a lead blocker and Clay is MUCH better in the passing game.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
It ended up being the only negative play of the game for the Pats... LOL
I was actually kinda hoping he would get a carry on a draw and score a TD.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
I was too.
Kevin Nogle - January 14, 2012
This O-line has been awful tonight
I should have figured as much since Simms was raving about them before the first drive.
The Earl - January 14, 2012
it could be worse...
just ask Clemson.
Masatoshi-san - January 14, 2012 via Android app
Yeah.
The Pats were going to win this game, but damn, Tebow can’t do anything if there is no running lanes at all, and when he does drop back, he’s having to run for his life.
Kevin Nogle - January 14, 2012
Tebow might be God's QB
but he’s playing behind the o-line from hell.
Masatoshi-san - January 14, 2012 via Android app
O-line played like crap, WRs dropped passes, and the defense generated NO pass rush
No QB is going to win with that.

Dolfan88 - January 14, 2012
There's a section in the AppState football media guide
that shows you how to pronounce players’ names and Appalachian is in there. Too many people get it wrong. I know I will cringe when Mike Mayock says it wrong when talking about Brian Quick at the combine.

Masatoshi-san - January 14, 2012 via Android app
FIGHTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!
daytonadolfan - January 14, 2012
I'm really surprised it took that long
Leaving Brady in there for the entire game was a big FU to Denver.
Kevin Nogle - January 14, 2012
So was Brady punting it would only be funny against the jets
AussiePhinfan - January 14, 2012
They were just asking for a fight...
or an injury to a key player or 2.
Masatoshi-san - January 14, 2012 via Android app
Though everyone else seems to hate on Tebow...
I don’t blame Denver fans for loving him as much as they do, no matter how badly he played. If Tebow took us to the playoffs and led the Dolphins to an upset victory over Pittsburgh in the Wild Card game, we would love him just as much as they do.
Masatoshi-san - January 14, 2012 via Android app
Brady just punted the ball!
hbkDolphins - January 14, 2012
And it was a nice punt
hbkDolphins - January 14, 2012
It was.
The Pats don’t have Flutie to drop kick it, so they have Brady punt instead.
Kevin Nogle - January 14, 2012
dang, brady can kick!
And how the hell were no pats player ejected. The were beating the crap out of the bronco players.
AnishB15 - January 14, 2012 via mobile
Ughhh that was fun!!!!!
The Patriots really made a great decision to sit Matt Light for the Dolphins game and to keep Logan Mankins out after his injury in the Dolphins game and through the Buffalo contest. All season long the Patriots have not been able to garner any continuity on the Offensive Line. It really has been a nightmare up front. They lost Dan Connelly in week one in Miami, he was out for weeks forcing Ryan Wendell into the starting lineup. Sebastian Vollemer has been in and out of the lineup all season long finishing the season out of it and Brian Waters has missed time.
However they are suddenly healthy. Connelly is back, Light is (which is huge, Sodler and Marcus Cannon and Tackle was a huge liability) and Mankins is back. 4 of 5 starters. It really is a shame.
And Tom Brady is a sick human being. Dennis Allen came out running zone coverages rather than the Broncos man scheme. He then went back to press man and then to the the Tampa 2 defense. Nothing worked. No pressure, nothing.
So lets talk about the San Fran-New Orleans game. What a game.
civwarbuff - January 14, 2012
yes it was...
the last 5 minutes of that game were wild.
Masatoshi-san - January 14, 2012 via Android app

Dolfan88 - January 14, 2012

That was an unbelievable football game.
For all of his faults, and all of the mistakes he made today, the way Alex Smith played down the stretch of this game especially on the last two drives with the ball game on the line is IMO the pinnacle of his professional career.
