The Miami Dolphins' search for a new head coach has come down to waiting for Jeff Fisher. Fisher has been the Dolphins' top choice for their coaching vacancy, and now it's a waiting game.
Rumors continue to fly as Decision Day begins for the third consecutive time. But, today's the day. No, really. Unless he decides to wait until tomorrow. Or Sunday. Maybe Monday. But, today's the day.
Yesterday, word leaked out that Fisher has already built his staff, and just has to decide which team, the Dolphins or the St. Louis Rams, he wants. Officially, neither team has "offered" Fisher their position, but that's a matter of semantics. The jobs haven't been "offered" simply so that, when Fisher decides on a team, the other team can say they never offered it to him. It's a word game, and one that, yesterday when Fisher's camp leaked that he was deciding between two teams who hadn't offered the job, sent fans into a tailspin.
But, the decision will come today.....right?

We learned yesterday that Fisher's decision does not necessarily come down to money. Fisher is trying to find the best fit, and the owner that assures him that he can operate how he wants to operate. A series of tweets from Chris Kouffman, of UniversalDraft.com and the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, gave some insight to the Fisher situation yesterday:
Maybe the most interesting part of that is the Jeff Ireland portion. Many fans blame Ireland for all things Miami Dolphins right now, including the fact that the Dolphins' can't offer Fisher the choice of GMs because they already have one. But,, Kouffman insists through a series of tweet later in the night, that Ireland isn't actually the hold up. If Dolphins owner Stephen Ross were to fire Ireland, then Fisher went to St. Louis, it's a very good possibility that Fisher would get Ireland to be his GM in St. Louis. The issue is how to work the power issue with the Dolphins right now. Ireland's contract states he answers only to Ross. But, now, Fisher wants final say on personnel. How does Ross fix that?
So, Fisher is looking for confirmation, in his contract, that Ross will not meddle in the team's affairs. Fisher did not enjoy his experience, despite the 16 years he was employed by the Tennessee Titans organization, with owner Bud Adams. Adams would dictate limitations on Fisher, that Fisher felt handcuffed him.
Fisher is also afraid of having a repeat of the Titans move from Houston. With rumors floating that the Rams could be looking to return to Los Angeles, Fisher wants a clause in his contract, especially from the Rams, that a relocation woul dnot cause him to lose seasons of a fan base and home field advantage, along with the budget cuts necessary to make the move, without some sort of compensation.
The Dolphins seem to be in the power seat in the decision process, but Fisher's comfort level in the midwest, could finally drive him to the Rams. But, today is decision day. At least until tomorrow.

The team that doesn't get Fisher just wasted a ton of Valuable Time
The next couple of weeks are very important, senior bowl, and other events, first chance to see and evaluate the draft class, be nice if we had a coach for input, besides Jeffy
RagingFin - January 13, 2012
Understandable
While I’m not overly impressed with his job in Tennessee, I can understand his wanting everything in writing. That’s just smart business. Which in itself is a good sign. Because that attention to detail can translate to his coaching and ultimately the players.

"The Indecision"
Fisher’s nightly primetime special series was set to air Wednesday night, but was delayed. Sources say the entire cast and crew is in place, including Host Lebron James (who said he could skip the 4th quarter of his games since he doesn’t show up st that point anyway). The only holdup… Fisher is still deciding on which network to air the show.
CBS? ABC? Fox? Yes, Fox!
…. or maybe ESPN…
PhinNomenol! - January 13, 2012 via Android app
lol, yes, yes and YES
How about nbc? Pbs? The CW? The golf channel?
AnishB15 - January 13, 2012 via mobile
How about ( OWN or the Emeril live ) dinner and a show call it cheap date night.
DPHIN - January 13, 2012 via mobile
He's doing this the right way
He got burned by Bud Adams, and he wants everything in writing. Can’t blame him one bit. How many people have been told one thing when taking a new job, and then they find out that things promised verbally never happen? The last time he took on the HC position he was in his mid 30’s if my math is correct. Live and learn, and he’s learned.
If reports about him having an interest in Schotten"heist the offense"mer are true, that scares me. I’m sure Schottenheisttheoffense has a great offensive mind, but I think he’s known for complexities that end up getting you what Sanchize and the Jets put out this year. Not much.
rintintinsoldier - January 13, 2012
If he wants Schotty, I don't want him.
joel311 - January 13, 2012
I second this
FinsSince70 - January 13, 2012
I'm burned out with fisher
This is just rediculus every single day we hear today’s the day and literally nothing happens. Fisher make Farve look decisive
Btw my first post.
Phinsphana - January 13, 2012 via mobile
Welcome
I disagree as to Fisher being indecisive. We are all trying to connect the twitter dots, assuming we know the story. The media feeds it, because that’s how they make money.
Strange - January 13, 2012 via mobile
I agree and yet its still frustrating. I know impatient as hell are we.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
it feels like he is prepraring for St. Loius
I dont know why, but the Clause about moving to LA, the staff thing, and loving Ireland, all sign point to St. Loius IMO.
Phinphinatic - January 13, 2012
But the Rams are still a heavy lead to join the Raiders in LA. The NFL wants two teams there. I guess because it worked out so well last time!?!
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
The media has blown this out of proportion as usual. If they hadn’t reported the their speculatory timetable (first Monday, then Wed, no, no Thurs) on when he would be deciding then the fans wouldn’t have had to impatiently wait on the edge of their seats everyday waiting for his decision. The media (the worst culprit being ESPN) always has a hard on to break the news first and usually have zero knowledge of the situation. Get it right not first.
mr1313 - January 13, 2012
exactly
Strange - January 13, 2012 via mobile
True
But the fans are just as bad. It was fans that took the story from ESPN760 on Wednesday and started posting it on Twitter, even though ESPN760 never actually reported he had made a decision. Fans started that rumor, which spun everyone into Day 1 of the three days of decision.
Then, the beat writers have all said that this time. But, the fans are fueling a lot on twitter. When you have fans that have sources (and, no, I’m not calling out Matty here….there are a ton of people on Twitter with sources now), it’s ery easy for rumors to continue to be spread.
It’s not just the media. It’s the fans too.
Kevin Nogle - January 13, 2012
well the fans pay the media's bills
It is a vicious cycle. Viciously stupid.
Btw, if you leave off the e in cycle, my autocorrect replaces it with the F-bomb.

Phinphinatic - January 13, 2012
C stands for comedy?
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
Anyone reporting fan tweets as anything other than unverified rumors
doesn’t deserve to be called “media”. And yet, here we are.
This is 100% a media invention. Fans are supposed to be consuming the media, not being used as “anonymous sources” by ESPN.

DPHIN - January 13, 2012 via mobile
Where's the disgrace and embarrassment?
Because we are waiting for our number one choice to make a decision?
If he chooses us, we got our top guy.
If he chooses STL, oh well, we move on to some other candidates.
There’s not a whole lot of disgrace there.

It is all the Jeff Fisher portion lol.

Stupid Jeff name.
You’re right. I wrote this incredibly fast this morning because i was late in getting it posted. And, I guess the Jeff and Jeff thing got screwed up. Thanks. I’ll fix it.

texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
You have a link for that? I couldn't find that anywhere.
FinFanFromCA - January 13, 2012
Give him the power he is looking for .....
this is not a bad thing – the guy is organizing it so that he can be sucessful and not be derailed by a meddling owner a a pesky GM that don;t agree with him. This is called having a leader a real one. I don;t want a puppet i want a guy that knows exactly what he wants to do and how he wants to do it.
After he signs all his leverage goes away so he HAS to get what he wants now. This is not a bad thing. I like it – i want Fisher!!!
this is not hard – Ross give him the authority and lets get started.
scrappy the wildcat - January 13, 2012
But, can he legally do that?
If Ireland’s contract specifically says he answers only to the owner, how can he then give Fisher a contract that says the GM answers to him?
And, like it says above, firing Ireland could just mean Fisher hires hi min STL.
It’s a no win situation right now, where Ross, Ireland, and Fisher all have to figure out some sort of compromise.
Kevin Nogle - January 13, 2012
It's a weird situation but if they all like each other that much (as has been reported) then they should have no problem working it out.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
bang!!! good call TCP
I typed my answer before i read yours
scrappy the wildcat - January 13, 2012
LOL No worries bro!
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
if thats in Irelands contract then you need to bring them both in
with thier agents and lawyers and work it out.
probably would mean giving ireland more money and less power – at any rate i still say get it done whatever it takes.
if Fisher and Ireland are such buds then they should be able to work it out right?
scrappy the wildcat - January 13, 2012
So Ross agrees to push Fisher's desires on Ireland. If it comes from Ross, Ireland has to cave.
TheFinReaper - January 13, 2012
GET IT DONE ROSS!!!!
you were after the right guy last year (Harbaugh). i think he just wanted to stay west coast.
You HAVE to close this deal and then you are immediately exonerated for that mess and we have THE MAN for the next 5-10 seasons.
scrappy the wildcat - January 13, 2012
Sounds like it's pretty cut and dry, here
Like scrappy said above, give him the power he wants, write all the crap into the contract, and be done with it. If he likes Ireland as much as it states in the post, then it shouldn’t be an issue.
This isn’t rocket science. Just get it over with, already. One way or the other.
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
BAM!!! DONE!!!!
open your wallet and put your ego to the side – the MAN is comin’.
JUST DO IT!!!!
scrappy the wildcat - January 13, 2012
THAT'S IT!!!
Ross wants our cans in the seats he needs to put Fisher’s can in charge!!!
chiropractors – DONE!!
catering – DONE!!!
transportation – DONE!!!
what type of tiolet paper do you prefer Mr. Fisher? let’s get this thing done.
scrappy the wildcat - January 13, 2012

DolphinNation - January 13, 2012

good to be back – i would be way stoked if the fisher thing gets done.
scrappy the wildcat - January 13, 2012

Dolphinator - January 13, 2012 via mobile
... send in the clowns.
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
This is stupid.
Bring in Chud.
joel311 - January 13, 2012
Chudzinski wasn't interviewed.
The Dolphins interviewed 5 candidates: Fisher who is the number 1 choice, Philibin who is now out of the question (and rightfully so, his matters make this coaching search trivial in comparison), Todd Bowles who is a long shot at best (and probably was only interviewed for the position as cruel as it is to fulfil the teams minority obligation). That leaves Dave Toub and Mike Zimmer of which I am suspecting Zimmer is the more highly valued of the two.
The team also requested an interview I believe with Dennis Allen as the Rams did but The Broncos won so both clubs had to scrap their interviews (at least temporarily). Im suspecting that if Fisher goes to St. Louis, Zimmer or Toub will be signed very soon after.
civwarbuff - January 13, 2012
they are to start calling bowles
“rooney rule Bowles” if he doesnt get picked up by someone.
Phinphinatic - January 13, 2012
But on the positive side for him he is getting his name out there and he's a damn good coach so it will better him
and his situation in the end. I know a lot of people hate the rule but it does in fact help a lot of these guys by getting their name out there.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Well he did interview with Oakland but I am
not familiar with what obligations they still have to fulfill.
civwarbuff - January 13, 2012
Well, they're still obliged to take the fastest guy in the draft regardless of playing skill.
It’s in their charter. But it’s gonna be tough this year
PNSter - January 13, 2012
It took me forever to find the comment you meant.
It appears I have posted too much today :P
joel311 - January 13, 2012
It is called due dilligence
What is the crazy rush? This is a VERY important decision. How many peoiple who are making such big career moves are jumping to the first offer. Even when you buy a car you test dirve it a few times!!
He is making sure the situation is best for him. As AS said yesterday, it isn’t a question of money. It is a question of specifying exact nature of the job and his authority. Who makes what personel move. I think he is doing the right thing. He should decide over the next few days.BTW, CHUD or Philbin aren’t bad coices either. And with Philbin, Matt Flynn may be a side benefit!
DAVEBUCK - January 13, 2012
I can't imagine Ross even WANTS to get involved in personnel decisions
He’s not Bud Adams forcing VY down a coaches throat. That shouldn’t even be an issue. Having final say over Ireland is perhaps more a point of contention. I’m not a fan of the football czars….they haven’t worked out for us in the past except in Shula’s case. Jimmy, Wanny, Nick the Turd all had final say. And who’s to say if Shula didn’t have final say if we might have grabbed a title during the Marino years
FinsSince70 - January 13, 2012
his staff
yesterday i heard that he already had his staff in place. does that mean nolan and daboll are gone? i have no problem losing Daboll but i liked what Mike Nolan did for our defense. also aren’t we a 3-4 team and isn’t a 4-3 coach, how does that work
Phinsphana - January 13, 2012
i LOVED Nolan ...
but thats not how it works with a guy like Fisher – he has his entire staff all the way together -
scrappy the wildcat - January 13, 2012
i threw in my 2 cents
i’ll be back when the deal is done.
peace out guys – busy work day coming up – for those of us that don’t get to tell our employer who we want to cater our meals lol!!!

Finhead83 - January 13, 2012
Yes. I'm so good I started taking shots 71 years before being born. Top that!
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
lol
Finhead83 - January 13, 2012
I wonder how long it took you on your Abbacus to do that math....lol
tuscanitunr x2 - January 13, 2012
Yeah I don't have to break it out for every problem.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Did you bring cookies and milk???
tuscanitunr x2 - January 13, 2012
No he's cheap. Only water and saltines.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
I wish he wouldn't have waited until Friday the 13th to make a decision
just saying…..

texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Does the medias realize that Mike Nolan ran some 4-3 schemes while in Miami…probably not? Just talking heads and yes we do have the personnel for the 4-3.
mr1313 - January 13, 2012
Yes and yes.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Most of the time, when they actually are talking about his defensive scheme
I’ve seen it listed as 3-4 hybrid, or a 3-4 with some 4-3 formations.
Kevin Nogle - January 13, 2012
Not too many 4-3 formations though.
Most of the 4 man fronts are in the Nickel and Dime packages but the Dolphins do implement a few different 4-3 packages and will pull it out a few times again. Also sometimes the Dolphins will be caught in a odd personnel grouping for the offensive grouping (which happens on occasion to every club), if the Dolphins are in Nickel say and the offense is in 21 personnel what the team will do is rotate the Nickel corner to safety usually Will Allen and move Bell/Jones/Culver to the depth of the Linebackers so as to form a “hodge-podge” 4-3 defense. Outside of these types of scenarios though the Dolphins will use the formation on occasion.
It should be noted though that a transition to 4-3 shouldn’t be too difficult because both Langford and Soliai are free agents and Outside Linebacker is a critical need anyways. The transition will be much easier for Starks and Odrick and the Dolphins need to address needs no matter which defense is chosen.
civwarbuff - January 13, 2012
We aren't the Bills though for example a true "hybrid" defense.
civwarbuff - January 13, 2012
This paragraph could use some editing
PNSter - January 13, 2012
Also, WhoTF is Schefter?
He’s another reporter.
So now we’re talking about retweets of second hand rumors that may or may not have any legitimate source as if they’re indisputably true? Come on, man!
PNSter - January 13, 2012
He has a site to run for fans that are hungry for information. He can only work with what is available.
How about you take the high road and give the man his props for all of his time and hard work instead of throwing out some cheesy “Come on, man!”?
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
LOLOL. true, true.
FinzD54 - January 13, 2012 via mobile
Refresh your page.
I already updated it. civwarbuff pointed it out above.
Kevin Nogle - January 13, 2012
is it a bad thing that for the last week or so,
I have been going to the bathroom at my job and logging onto the Phinsider from my phone just to see if there is any breaking news on Fisher? My boss must think I have IBS or something. Matter of fact, I’m in here now. Probably be back in an hour. Crazy? Or just a dedicated fan waiting like a child on Christmas eve hoping Santa Ross delivers my gift, rather than the Grinch Kroenke taking it from us. I am weird-sorry.
FinzD54 - January 13, 2012 via mobile
Same here.
I think my students will be doing a lot of on-their-own activities today. Stupid Fisher…
NJ13 - January 13, 2012
Hold a paper airplane making and throwing contest
haha…Although I don’t know what level you teach at…so that might not be a good idea
tuscanitunr x2 - January 13, 2012
High school science
But unfortunately, not Physics. I’ll see what I can do though…
NJ13 - January 13, 2012
hahahaha...glad im not the only one. feel a bit better about myself...lol
FinzD54 - January 13, 2012 via mobile
via Omar...
“I know the Dolphins are in a holding pattern with Jeff Fisher, but I’ve been asking around and from what I’m hearing a good fall back plan might be Hue Jackson. He did a pretty impressive job with Oakland despite the injuries. He already has a staff. BUT, it does trouble me that the Raiders were one of the most penalized teams in the NFL.”
Finhead83 - January 13, 2012
Hue Jackson wasn't interviewed though.
Can we please stick to the candidates who were interviewed. If Hue Jackson, Chudzinski e.t.c. were serious considerations then this FO should have interviewed them by now. They haven’t essentially ruling them out.
civwarbuff - January 13, 2012
I don't know. They were busy interviewing guys until they got the feeling that Fish was for sure headed to Miami.
I think for some reason they still think that. If for some reason he gives them the Heisman pose then I bet they open the interviews back up. But then again this is all just my guess.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
I disagree. The Rams continued with their interviewing process showing me that they
are not yet comfortable with the possibility of Fisher electing to go to Miami. If Ross and Ireland are not comfortable with the candidates whom have been interviewed (and those who are possibilities behind Fisher, ruling out Philibin) then they made a huge mistake in stopping the interview process.
I believe that Hue Jackson and Rob Chudzinski are both out of the equation along with Dennis Allen who the media was reporting the Dolphins may interview before the Broncos victory over the Steelers because the Dolphins have made their decision behind Fisher between Bowles, Toub and Zimmer. If they haven’t then they deserve the criticism that will follow this.
civwarbuff - January 13, 2012
I think and hope you are wrong.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
I dont know which part you hope I'm wrong about?
I hope and think that I’m right because this is going to look very bad if I’m wrong.
As for the other issue, saying that we can rule out Bowles (for conversations sake) are you not comfortable with Toub and Zimmer as candidates?
civwarbuff - January 13, 2012
That if Fish says no that they are done looking.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
So are you not comfortable with Zimmer and Toub?
Or do you just want a broader search?
civwarbuff - January 13, 2012
Broader search. I want Chud if not Fish.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
if Fisher goes to St. Louis I am completely content with Mike Zimmer
I think he is very good. I would shocked at Bowles and surprised with Toub. I would be fine with Chud and with Jackson but I think if it isn’t Fisher it will be Zimmer.
civwarbuff - January 13, 2012
I would be fine with Dom Capers too or...
Dennis Allen or even Todd Haley or Jack Del Rio
But it will be Zimmer IMO.
civwarbuff - January 13, 2012
They had an interview setup with Mularkey on Wednsesday he took the Jags job so. Interview takes two day so. Chud was interview for OC job last year. An yes Nolan runs a Hybrid 3-4/4-3.
FinFanFromCA - January 13, 2012
Correct, Correct, Correct and lasty incorrect.
The Defensive scheme under Nolan is a 3-4 scheme that implements a few 4-3 packages. Not even close to a hybrid defense. Not even close.
Go watch the Bills play and you will see a true Hybrid defense.
civwarbuff - January 13, 2012
IMO. He doesn't have the secondary to play the Correct D he wants.
Here is a good article about who/what/where on the Hybrid. As he says square pegs into round holes.
http://www.nfl.com/kickoff/story/09000d5d80a518b3/article/hybrid-defenses-popping-up-across-the-nfl-
Kirwan is pretty sharp by the way.
FinFanFromCA - January 13, 2012
I know.
Doesn’t mean he can’t be though. I’d still prefer Chudz over Jackson though. Miami stopped interviews when they felt more comfortable with Fisher.
Finhead83 - January 13, 2012
Now via PFT...
“Despite denials, the Jeff Fisher Leverage Game is real.”
Finhead83 - January 13, 2012
LOL I like how everyone has their own rumor and now they are starting to point fingers at the other guys version of the rumor.
“No my rumor is the correct rumor and his is wrong!”
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
LOL Indeed.
I have no idea what is true anymore, but I would’ve expected at least a little bit of a leverage game. Happens all the time.
Finhead83 - January 13, 2012
I think that Fisher is a classy guy and is not the type to play games but will do what he has to do get things right
after getting screwed around for 17 years. On the Phins side I would guess that Ross wants nothing leaked one way or another until its final after last off seasons PR nightmare.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Adam Schefter continues to lose credibility. The guy is very contradictory with his story.
mr1313 - January 13, 2012
You never know though, these guys could get false information from their sourcees
Rytackle - January 13, 2012
Well, then they are not “sources” at all. Here’s how the media works, throw enough shit on the wall to see what sticks and if you happen to be right you broke the story first. 9 times out of ten they are wrong, at any other job if you were only good 10 percent of the time you would get fired.
mr1313 - January 13, 2012
I would not want Hue Jackson and quite frankly would be pissed if he was hired as our head coach. I still can’t see how we are not linked to Chudzinski with him bringing Mike Shula over. I know they interviewed him last year for the OC job but I can’t see how that would be enough to hire him as a head coach, unless that interview did not go well.
mr1313 - January 13, 2012
Ireland asked if his mother was a prostitute.
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
Meh. Shit happens.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
That’s what he said, according to my sources.
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
I think MIA has better personnel for the 4-3, we have great D-lineman and 3 Solid linebacker
Rytackle - January 13, 2012
Can't we use stem cells to rebuild Marino?
Fuhbawl - January 13, 2012

Finhead83 - January 13, 2012
... and Rachel Welch.
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
Mmmmm.... rebuilt hot chicks
mmmmmm
Fuhbawl - January 13, 2012
Enough!!!
1. Hire Hue Jackson as the Head Coach.
2. Hire Steve Spagnolo as DC, and switch to the 4-3
3. Draft Coples with our 1st round pick
4. ????
5. Profit
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
i agree with #1
Phinphinatic - January 13, 2012
I prefer number 4
civwarbuff - January 13, 2012
You don’t like #5?
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
i work in mental health
we dont know what that is
Phinphinatic - January 13, 2012

Phinsphana - January 13, 2012
Well Finhead showed up wearing one of Nickys dresses which was of course way too small so we had to send him home to change.

Okie dokie…glad I have that mental picture stuck in my head now. Thanks mange! :)
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012

Also Alpha offered to drive him so they left together.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012

tuscanitunr x2 - January 13, 2012
So true.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
I love how the media knows nothing on this topic. The Miami media is totally in the dark. Where are all their so called sources, and if they don’t have any why the hell are the working for their respective newspapers?
mr1313 - January 13, 2012
My sources say you’re onto something, here.
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
my sources say
meow meow meow….which roughly translates to feed me and be gone.
Phinphinatic - January 13, 2012
In the past our FO has been fairly good at not leaking information so its possible thats going on along with Fishers
people not leaking anything. Sometimes the reality is there is nothing out there for anyone to report.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
And yet, they continue reporting it.
PNSter - January 13, 2012
It's their jobs so they will take scraps of whatever and try and make stories of them.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Why do fans want Hue Jackson he ran an undisciplined team in Oakland? He traded the farm for Palmer and couldn’t get the one win he needed down the stretch. No Thanks on Hue.
mr1313 - January 13, 2012
one season
8-8, with worse talent that we have
Phinphinatic - January 13, 2012
Absolutely correct. Look at his roster, and tell me how that team won 8 games, without McFadden for the majority of the season, and without a quarterback until Palmer arrived.
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
i think Hue would be a great option for us
Phinphinatic - January 13, 2012
Because he has a history of developing QB’s – for example, he took Carson Palmer from a middling Quarterback out of high school to a Heisman Trophy winner at USC. He has a good history of doing this with other QB’s as well (John David Booty, to name another).
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
That’s your reasoning? Glad you are not doing the interviewing.
mr1313 - January 13, 2012
Glad you know how to use the reply button.
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
LOL That was funny!
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Thanks, sir! I resisted as long as I could.
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
LOL Yeah it is important in a thread with as many comments.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Any 3rd grader could do it. :)
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
Sure.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
my real reasoning (reply fail by the way)
is that he has not had enough time to develop an atmospher of discipline in their locker room. He is still working with Cables rejects and did have the team going in the right direction. He makes bold moves and stands behind them. OAK made a very big mistake in firing him.
Phinphinatic - January 13, 2012
Ok, that’s fair. I don’t agree but it’s ok reasoning.
mr1313 - January 13, 2012
yay reply success!!!!!!
i can easily understand why many would avoid him too though. I just dont thisnk that he has had a long enough chacne to make the splash that i believe he is capable to make.
Phinphinatic - January 13, 2012
John David Booty….really?
mr1313 - January 13, 2012
reply button!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Phinphinatic - January 13, 2012
its right here_______________________^^^^^^^^^^__________________
Phinphinatic - January 13, 2012
Get over yourself man, so I didn’t hit the reply button. You know who I’m talking to. Really exclamation marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That’s lame.
mr1313 - January 13, 2012
It is pretty annoying when people do not use it and we all razz each other around here.
Don’t be so uptight there wild man.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
it si also important to the continuity of the coments
how is anyone going to know what the hell you are talking about if you are not more specific with who you are replying to.
Phinphinatic - January 13, 2012
True. Hopefully he got the point and does not take such a little thing so personally next time.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012

who doesn't??
tuscanitunr x2 - January 13, 2012
Yeah, exactly my point. What was he, coming out of high school? What was Carson Palmer, coming out of high school? Look up both of them, and tell me how they were rated. Let’s also not forget he developed Matt Cassel whie at USC, as well.
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
Wow can't believe there's still no decision yet....
BahamaDolfan - January 13, 2012
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
I really hope that if a decision isn't made today, that the FO go ahead and start trying to get someone else in.
Otherwise…we run the chance of losing out on a lot of coaching options. This feels like playing poker….
tuscanitunr x2 - January 13, 2012
playing poker... yes.
It hurts going in.
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
player poking?

Why oes that concern u?
BahamaDolfan - January 13, 2012
You talking to Omar?
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
Oh did Omar say that? Why would he be concerned. No way I want Zimmer here
BahamaDolfan - January 13, 2012
See you all in a bit
I’m going to go to lunch and play in the snow.
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
Don't eat the yellow snow.

Or....brown snow
tuscanitunr x2 - January 13, 2012
Yeah that's not snow.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Yea...I realize that now...AFTER the fact....sheesh...y'all could have warned me!
tuscanitunr x2 - January 13, 2012
Since when did you think you could find kernels in snow?
Finhead83 - January 13, 2012
Is it hard and lumpy? Or kinda like a coffee stain?
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
H*ll with that…it’s friggin snowing like crazy…waiting a bit.
No yellow snow…bahaha!!!
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012

people are looking at me funny

texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Son.............. of.................. a.............. bitch!
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
If you can't get the top two do you draft BPA this season and then go after you QB next?
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
I'd say yes.
Unless they want to try and trade down a bit to land Tannehill.
Finhead83 - January 13, 2012
Yeah. I agree.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Or Brock Osweiler...
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
Not at 8 or 9...
Finhead83 - January 13, 2012
10?
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
No... down a bit, like you said.
[your at my belly button.. so down a bit]
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
lol
Phinphinatic - January 13, 2012
It's why I'm not a GM... that's a tough place... the draft.
BPA? Regardless of position or need?
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
Here's the crazy thing....
After Cleveland, what team in front of us needs a running back? Richardson, as crazy as it seems, could fall to us at 8 or 9, if Cleveland takes RG3 with their pick.
If you want BPA…he’s it, period.
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
what about daniel thomas
Phinsphana - January 13, 2012
As I’ve stated since the draft, I’m not sold on a kid that has had injury/fumble problems since college, and it proved true (the injuries, I mean) in his rookie season. Plus, the kid runs a 4-ever 40. I want speed, and Richardson, as big as he is, can fly.
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
I still think the kid is a good change of pace back, if he can stay healthy which is a big if
Phinsphana - January 13, 2012
You hit it on the head when you said “if he can stay healthy.” I don’t put stock in RB’s that have an injury history at such a young age. It worries me way too much to put the fate of the franchise in his hands.
Let’s also not forget that Bush will be a FA after next season, so we need to bring in a RB anyway, just in case he’s too expensive to sign, long term.
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
He had an abbreviated offseason. With a full offseason we will get him healthy and rookies usually learn to take care of themselves better their 2nd season. Hell Vontae Davis and a plethora of other players were hobbled with hamstring injuries. We don’t need a back we have far too many other holes that should be filled first, like RT.
mr1313 - January 13, 2012
Fair point RE: Thomas
Would it be fair to say that he would be the best player available at the time of our pick, assuming that Luck, RG3, Blackmon, Kalil, Coples and Martin may be gone at the time?
It’s the question of draft philosophy. Would you reach on a RT at 8 (or 9) for the sake of getting a RT, or would you draft the BPA? Also – would a trade be under consideration at the time of our pick, if Richardson is there?
It’s not so cut and dry, mr1313…you need to explore all the possibilities and be flexible in making your decisions.
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
…by “your decisions,” I mean the Dolphins, not you.
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
wiat mr1313 isn’t in the Dolphins fo…f**k
Phinsphana - January 13, 2012
i agree with mr1313
lets give DT a full offseason and see if these injury issues fade away
Phinphinatic - January 13, 2012
I didnt know that Reggies contract was up so soon. I think you might be right. either way I dont see Cleaveland passing on him
Phinsphana - January 13, 2012

DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
They had better keep Bush here
I really really really like watching him.
Fuhbawl - January 13, 2012
Damn straight
Phinsphana - January 13, 2012
Or a good trade option for a team behind us that LOVES him
BahamaDolfan - January 13, 2012
I’m fine with this idea as well. I wouldn’t mind trading down and picking up another 2nd round pick, along with others.

The cheese is sharp cheddar. This remains uncomfirmed at this time, but is thought to be the likeliest possibility.
NJ13 - January 13, 2012
She chose cheddar and not swiss? Bold, bold indeed!
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Turkey?
I like it when they squat and gabble.
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
Personally…I enjoy the nap after the turkey. Triptofan is my friend.
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
Now you need to decide what sort of cheese to put on it. Mayo or no? Lettuce? Tomato? Dude…Fisher’s decision is going to cause you havoc today.
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
Well, sources have confirmed... no mayo for NJ13 is coming.
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
The sandwich staff is assembled.
Turkey, Cheddar Cheese (now confirmed), White Bread, Mayo, and Mustard. Questions remain as to why Tomato was not included.
NJ13 - January 13, 2012
My sources indicate Tomato was not named in the negotiations due to not being in the fridge at the time. Produce fail.

NJ13 - January 13, 2012
Well... was the bread foreign or domestic?
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
Generic Store Brand
The thinking is that shoring up meat and cheese was the priority, and that the sandwich could get away with a stopgap at the bread position. Whole Wheat was reportedly available, but was asking too much.
NJ13 - January 13, 2012
Ah.. so no french, sour dough or amish kind.
Good. Then it wasn’t jealousy why she was not returning calls.
lol
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
Who buys imported breads? Who are you Alpha?
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Cuban bread is fantastic
Phinsphana - January 13, 2012
It is but seeing as more Cubans live in Dade county than in Cuba I don't consider that an imported product.

Phinsphana - January 13, 2012
It coulda been french bread....

cak24 - January 13, 2012
Time for Plan B
I think it is time to move onto Plan B for a new head coach. Do we really want a coach who can’t make a decision? I don’t!!!

NJ13 - January 13, 2012
It'll be fun for those in class..

Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
I just think he wants Robert griffin. Can also bring in OG Scott and FS Griffin. Maybe TE Carlson too.
Ross wants to spend big. Perfect for Fisher.
BahamaDolfan - January 13, 2012
Fisher of men...
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012

texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Can you ask them to trade Nelson Cruz to the Braves in exchange for Jair Jurrjens, please? Thanks so much…LOL
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
No. Probably not. Nelly needs to stay in Arlington where he can continue mashing the hell out of the ball.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Stop the insanity!
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
But...... but...... we like TCP.
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
Just because I tried to kill you that one time does not make me insane.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
lol... yeah.. well.. it scared the crap outta me.
But, I luv ya now. I understood why.
I won’t crap on your front lawn anymore….
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
LOL Fair enough. I will go ahead and unload the gun. I sure spent a lot of money having your
name printed on each bullet for nothing.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Anytime I see someone say TCP...I think ICP....
Then I think clowns….then I get scared
tuscanitunr x2 - January 13, 2012

Phinsphana - January 13, 2012
In about three hours, they will come out in the same fashion they went in.
This will be “firm” confirmation.
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
How do you know it will be firm?
tuscanitunr x2 - January 13, 2012
A feeling way down deep in my gut... lol
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012

kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
Nice. Can you get around ok up there?
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Sort of. It's better than yesterday
I f’n hate snow.
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
Yeah. Its like 65 and sunny here today.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Smh. I wish we had something similar
Oh, and LSU monster receiver Reuben Randle declared today. Takers?
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
You tell me.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Well, I am really into the idea of using our 2 on Arizona QB Nick Foles
If he’s not there, maybe we look in Randle’s direction.
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
At least your not in Alaska right now. They are getting totally screwed.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
lol. Yes, but I'd have to kick my own ass if I lived in Alaska.
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
True. I cant imagine what you would be doing there anyhow.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Hating life, I imagine
My brother’s psycho ex-gf lives in Alaska right now … and she put on some weight to combat the chilly temps.
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
Wow. I guess you do what you have to do.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
I think she chose to attend college in Alaska. Not sure why anyone would want to go through with that
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
That is weird. I have never heard of ANYONE going there and I know people that have studied
all around the world.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Have you seen their Winter Fest???
I saw it on the Alaska State Troopers show my wife watches….nothing but booze and ….other…things..of a good nature….with the opposite sex
tuscanitunr x2 - January 13, 2012
Sounds amazing
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
Yea...it actually looked pretty cool. Snow mobile races...big ass beer tents...
tuscanitunr x2 - January 13, 2012
I imagine if you live there you pretty much have to stay drunk all the damn time.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
I was stationed in Alaska for three years.
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
Snowing like hell here in Syracuse.
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
Especially after that slick Arby's lunch... lol
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
You hold your tongue. Lunch was pretty good!
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
lol... just what sandwich did you have?
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
The philly beef angus or whatever it's called
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
What would you put on your Mt. Rushmore of fast food?
Go …
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
Taco Cabana, Chic-fil-A, Taco Bueno, Arbys, Whataburger
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Hmmm
I’d go with Sonic, Culver’s, Chick-Fil-A and … I don’t know.
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
I have a feeling that fourth spot is reserved for Del Taco ... whenever I get around to trying it
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
Got to fit Derwienner dog in there someplace
Bakersfield Blowholes - January 13, 2012
Sonic is a solid choice. I think we have Culvers around here but have never tried it.
Also Pollo Tropical in Florida is amazing. I freaking love that place but did not add it as I can only go there on vacation.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Wendy's, Little Caesars, Taco Bell, Boston Market, Zaxby's or KFC
tuscanitunr x2 - January 13, 2012
I am disappointed that anyone would add Taco Bell.
We have like 6 different fast food Tex-Mex places and Taco Bell is so far at the bottom.
Now go sit in the corner and think about what you have done!
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
lol. That is so mean
lol. I will add Del Taco to my list as soon as I try it. I’ve heard it’s the balls.
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
LOL Not mean. Just educating him. Its tough love for his own good.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Truth
A moderator and educator. Mosul was wise to bring you aboard. You’re like the VP of Player Personnel on the Phinsider.
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
LOL Wish everyone thought so.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
and thanks......
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
I'm in Augusta, GA. Taco Smells is about as good as it gets for fast food around here of that persuasion
tuscanitunr x2 - January 13, 2012
lol
My dad calls Taco Bell “Crotch-o Bell”
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
LOL Close!
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
New Taco Bell Slogan
Gotta make a run for the
borderbowl.DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
TB is a fantastic fix for the hangover
Pedialyte + cheap mexican food = great relief. You have to deal with a small case of the green apple splatters, but it’s very much worth it.
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
That is very sad indeed.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Popeys kills KFC
Bakersfield Blowholes - January 13, 2012
OMG that one is so damn good. Excellent choice grasshopper.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Yes, thank you. I also support the cravin' chicken sandwich, too
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
Arbys is freaking great.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
That sounds good, I just have a pbj for today.
Bakersfield Blowholes - January 13, 2012
Nothing wrong with that
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
Not a fan.
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way
According to this info, we won’t be passed on because we’re somehow viewed a destination less desirable than freaking St. Louis.
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
He is "Walking in Memphis"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wAPaJW2hf8
civwarbuff - January 13, 2012
different spelling though.
civwarbuff - January 13, 2012
Its over. Fisher to the rams!
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Knew it.
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
Fisher agrees with RAMS
on ESPN right now
phinsphan85 - January 13, 2012
Unreal.
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
Yep!
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
and ... that's a wrap.
I feel a strange sense of relief right now. Now let’s go out and hire a coach who won’t make us wait a fucking fortnight before handing in his decision.
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
Yeah I agree
I still feel Ross should take his time… Don’t go into a “panic hire” now
phinsphan85 - January 13, 2012
Yes a few more interviews than make a choice.
Bakersfield Blowholes - January 13, 2012
Somehow I'm actually happy
Hopefully we can trade up with the Rams and interview Chud PLEASE!
phinsphan85 - January 13, 2012
Actually not "happy" but more like "relieved"... At the fact we can finally move on
phinsphan85 - January 13, 2012
I just saw it.
civwarbuff - January 13, 2012
Congrats to the Rams and to Fisher
best of luck.
civwarbuff - January 13, 2012
Fuck 'em. I hope they continue to be terrible
Sorry, but I figured the level of vitriol toward Fisher would probably escalate if he chose STL over Miami.
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
Hopefully he'll be forced to move to LA next year haha
phinsphan85 - January 13, 2012
Hope he has all the control he wants so he can draft his team into the ground.
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
I also sincerely hope we beat that team's ass when we play them this season
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
Anyway, who do you guys think is the best candidate for our hc position?
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
whom*
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
I honestly don't know but Chudzinski seems to be the popular choice
phinsphan85 - January 13, 2012
Carmichael...
Alpha6 - January 13, 2012
In order..
P. Carmichael
Hue Jackson
Chud
DolphinNation - January 13, 2012
Keith call me when you can!
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
I'll be leaving here in a few mins, so be ready!
kmb8488 - January 13, 2012
texascowpunk - January 13, 2012
Not heart broken
He never seemed to want to come here anyway. Not looking at this as a big loss at all.
