I just don’t understand why NFL team owners don’t have people that are really “smart” close to geniuses making serious decisions. You would think with all the $ they have they would find someone. Mularkey? didn’t he suck at Buffalo?
I was not a fan of Mularkey what so ever but the truth is this whole waiting for Fisher thing is starting to worry me.. Why?? Because we are running out of options…. I had three candidates that I wanted… 1. Fisher 2. Jay Gruden 3. Rob Chudzinski….. Now Fisher might screw us and pick the Rams, Gruden is already out and we havent even interviewed Rob yet….. What are we waiting for???? If we end up with the guy from Chicago Toub I might have a heart attack……. I’m about to go to bed and I will pray to wake up with Fishers decision made already… Hopefully it will be us but if not then I dont care… Just make your mind already because we are running out of candidates….
We are actually in the best position of any team out there. We already have 5 interviews complete, plus Fisher. The only person we have scheduled for an interview that isn’t available anymore is Mularkey. If we want to interview Chudzinski, the only team to show interest in him so far, just hired Mularkey.
Just calm down. It will work itself out.
And, from what the media has said, Toub is a great candidate. The Bears have informally tapped him to be their next coach. He’s supposed to be ready to take the step to being a HC, and is expected to be a good one. Am I saying I want him? No. But, from everything I have read and seen, he’s not that bad. John Harbaugh was a special teams coach before he got the Ravens job – just because you are “special teams” doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t be a good head coach.
just because you are "special teams" doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t be a good head coach.
I agree. There is much more to it then people know. I have always believed it was more about the ability to manage people. Sure a strong football background is necessary but……. Take a look at a guy like Jimmy Johnson. Not known as the best X’s and O’x guys but knew how to put together the right people, evaluate talent and then in turn get the most out of them. That was his genius. Not some amazing scheme that he came up with.
Thanks, Jville we owe you one.
Will the Dolphins grow up? And put on their big boy pants. 14-18 two seasons with Mike Mularkey.
Giants shut out ATL in the playoffs.
In the words of Biggie Smalls, Mr. Ross more money more problems. Throwing your check book at Fisher won’t solve our coaching problems. Grow up and make a smart choice.
Offensive woes are due to poor coaching.
GOOD! I didnt want him
