We need to wait until the 3rd round to get a QB that we can fail to develop. Then we use our 1st and 2nd second rounders on O-linemen because they have just high positional value compared to every other position.
I think they tried last week but the refs wouldn't allow it. They got so many 1st downs thanks to penalties the last couple drives against Houston it was ridiculous
and we will be SOOO happy when we watch Luck tear up the league but we have Kirk Cousins leading us to 7-9. Those wins against the Raiders and Chiefs in 2011 will be epic wins we can hang our hats on.
Latley we have seen people on this site declare Matt More the future QB for the Dolphins. We have seen debates about the importance of re-signing Solia. I say we have seen the true colors of both players in this game. Moore has looked like the player we all knew he was when he was signed. Solia has been exposed now that Dansby has not returned to the game.
The truth of the matter is Solia is just average that looks better because of the good/great players we have at linebacker. Moore is good if the team is ahead, but is just an average QB. It is sad that the team can not get motivated when it is J.T.’s last game in a great career.
When it comes to the draft and next season we need to spend big in free agency and sell the farm to trade up and get Luck.
Yeah, but we traded up for a questionable prospect
We could have drafted Kendall Hunter who would have been so much better than Thomas. Hilliard could have been the power back (he wouldn’t have been worse than Thomas).
the only thing that really irks me about ireland is the fact he did not trade soleai before the deadline
i dont see enough reason to ink him to a huge contract when he is not an elite NT. we are just going to lose him in FA at the end of the season and will have another reason to use our 1st round pick on something other than luck or RG3
I really can't recall a time when he caught a crossing route like that
where he didn’t have to jump, reach, stretch, or otherwise adjust to a poorly thrown ball. That happens when you get QBs that have ball placement issues.
IF we win this game and the Titans, Raiders, Broncos, and Bengals lose, meaning all the Jets had to do was WIN against us and they were in the playoffs.
Also, the weakness of Revis is that he can be overpowered by strong WRs if they have enough speed (so Revis can’t just catch up). This is why Steve Smith gives Revis problems.
Location issues like throws Davone Bess caught behind him are super dangerous for receivers. If you’re fishing for the ball it exposes you to big hits like the one Bess just suffered. That’s the No. 1 complaint his teammates have about Matt Moore.
One day Bess, you’ll get a QB that can CONSISTENTLY hit you in stride.
Awful news, it looks like. Bess going on a cart into the locker room. Keith Sims, sideline reporter for radio, says it looks like his ACL. This is a player’s greatest fear from these meaningless games.
Yes, it’s a meaningless game, so don’t start with this “A win is a win” mess.
No offense but forget the Jets. The Titans have the Texans in huge trouble so a win or a loss here ultimately wont decide the Jets fate (and probably still won’t even if some miraculous happens to conclude that game). This is about us.
Is it embarrasing that I’m teary eyed? I am. Not just for JT, but this season has been a emotional year. As fans we put alot of energy and compassion into this sport and into this team. Of all the emotions I went through this season, I went through them all in the last 3 hours.
which means that the seed games next season change. We no longer will play Cleveland and Kansas City. Instead we will play the Bengals and the Chargers.
Same old same old Dolphins football.. We laughed, (Sanchez int.'s) we cried (JT's last game) we yelled at the TV (Moore's int's) and almost had a coronary (had to get an onside kick to win it)
Without Dansby, Long, and Bush, I’d say we shocked and awed. BTW Mitchell, our replacement for Dansby came up with a big INT in the red zone on a 4th qtr crunch drive.
First and foremost: Congrats to JT, thanks for all the memories! It’s been a hell of a ride.
Secondly: Good, ehh….decent game today. Moore looked like an average game manager, but did make a play when he needed to.
Third: Overall, we sucked. Thank god, for Sanchez blowing this game. Offense was offensive all right. Look like a different team out there without Bush. This was a good win for the Defense.
We’re going from Moore to Flynn for QBOTF. The thing I hate is that many people dont put things in perspective. 1 great game and people think X is the next coming or the answer to all our problems. Remember when Daniel Thomas ran for 100 yards? Ireland was a genius and we found our answer to Ronnie Brown’s void. People didnt stop to look how a good performance can be sustained.
The problem is reactionary people dont pay attention to the quality of the players
Anybody in the NFL can have a great game or three. But you have to do the scouting which reveals the underlying qualities which make players great. People are lazy and just judge based on performance and noting else. Thats why I’ve been ragging on Daniel Thomas since the beginning. There’s nothing special in his game which will lead to sustained greatness. No wiggle, speed or vision that I can see. Can he rush for 1000 yards? Sure, but thats doesnt man he’ll be great. If he gets 300 carries most NFL RB’s can.
Despite Reggie playing great down the stretch, I don’t WANT him to be an every down back necessarily. I want to use him in the open field more to make plays. I’m afraid they’ll kill him if he keeps pounding the ball
Besides the obvious fact that Matt Moore deserves to be looked at with all seriousness this offseason.
The Quarterback position is crucial in the NFL, and every team in the league knows this. So Quarterbacks, every year go higher than they probably should because of the necessity of the position. There is no way IMO that Luck or Griffin make out it out of the top 5 and there is a very good chance that teams trade up and teams in their slots, right behind those two going off the board creating a run of Quarterbacks. I would not be surprised at all to see Landry Jones and Ryan Tannehill to both go in the top 15.
There are only about 3 QBs worth the trouble this draft
Luck, Griffin, and maybe Jones. Everyone else are post first round material. And we don’t want that. And we also don’t want any more garbage from other teams. We need to do everything we can to secure Luck or Griffin.
Im right with you. As for Matt Flynn I can't even begin to consider him until I know exactly where we stand with Matt Moore.
Hence the work Ive been doing on him, analyzing every snap hes taken from under Center on my laptop and working on my offseason posts on his play game to game.
No other question on this team is more important, including the Head Coaching position IMO. We MUST understand exactly where we stand with Matt Moore.
If you have a QB who plays twice and plays badly, you would say he needs one or two full seasons before being judged, but a back up for another team has a couple of decent games, and suddenly you don’t need to see any more. Trade Long and Marshall for him!
Yes, I agree Matt Moore should be given a fair shake and will most likely start for us next year
However, I still find it necessary to draft one to back him up. So that way if more doesn’t pan out for us in what will be the last year of our contract, we will have someone to groom and get behind. Otherwise we will be in big trouble if Moore gets hurt and we have a journeyman QB such as Lossman behind him. Don’t get me wrong, I know injuries are always a possibility, but from what I understand Moore has finished 2 of 5 seasons on IR. He also received a concussion this year, or at least showed symptoms of it. We just need to do as much as we can to better ourselves and prepare for the worst so we can improve for the future, both short and long term if possible.
and thank you Mosul, Kmb, Leftcoast, Texas, Finhead and Alejandro for the work you guys do and the effort you put into this site. There’s a reason it is the best Miami Dolphins fan site on the web.
More than anything its the way they have been losing.
After a 4-2 start they have lost 9 straight, 10 if they lose today which looks like it’s going to happen. They currently trail 42-to the Falcons. They lost to Carolina last week 48 to 16, to the Cowboys badly on National Televison, 41 to 14 at Everbank agains tthe Jags, 38 to 19 at home to the Panthers, and before two close losses to the Titans and a heartbreaker in Green Bay, the shallacking fro mthe Texans.
So now that the season is (finally) over, when does the HC search heat up?
After the playoffs I guess so everyone is available for interviews and such? I don’t think the Cowhers and Billicks will be available during their TV work
Ha Beaver made a comment around noon time today in the Live thread from last night
I’m sure it’ll get lost but it’s worth mentioning here. If the Colts had the #2 pick they would have taken Griffin.. I kinda am glad the Rams have #2 because I could actually see a new HC coming in and drafting Luck over Bradford. Most of the guarenteed money has been paid to him.. I don’t see them drafting Griffin over keeping Bradford though.
In a way, I’m kind of more hopeful the Rams will make a trade now that they won’t get Luck at all
Great moments should either happen naturally or not at all. I’ll never forget Ricky Davis (NBA) when he was playing for the Cavs a few years ago, grabbed a defensive rebound UNDER HIS OWN BASKET then took a shot AT HIS OWN BASKET in order to get another rebound for the Triple-Double. What a moron.
Ricky Davis On March 16, 2003, In the closing seconds of a game against Utah, Davis was one rebound short of his first career triple-double. In an effort to record that rebound, Davis attempted to deliberately miss a shot at his team’s own basket, but was fouled by Utah’s DeShawn Stevenson before he could get the shot off.
I also remember (ok I don’t remember exactly who) but I think it was Chris Johnson go down at the 1 yard line when he had a for sure TD that the D gave him because it was the only way the team could get the ball back with even a chance.
Just so you all know I am eating these Lays Stax chips right now. I thought they were Pringles and grabbed em by mistake
This is quite the happy mistake. these things are WAAAaay better than Pringles. They’re thicker and crispier. I highly recommend them for your chip needs
Anyone know if SD is still in the mix for AFC West?
I know Denver has the edge over Oakland based on win percentage in common games but not sure about San Diego. They may all finish 8-8, 3-3 against division and 1-1 against each other.
Hopefully 9th won't be too much of a drop off for the Rams or Vikings to trade with us
Btw, shouldn’t we trade as soon as we can? Instead of waiting till the actual draft, and just wait til the 3rd pick is up or so? We can’t take chances and wait too long.. We can work on a deal with the Rams as soon as the new league year starts in March right?
ugh they better not sign a QB before the draft i will scream
I still think whatever happens with Manning can play a big part in this. Either he becomes available, or perhaps Luck asks to go elsewhere if Indy keeps Peyton
First season with a 1000 yard rusher and 1000 yard receiver. Also first season with 3 defenders with over 100 tackles. We had the longest drive in team history and Matt Moore finished with the second highest passer rating in team history.
So it looks like we will have to trade up with the Vikings to secure
RG3. St. Louis may be willing to trade out but considering they need to protect their 78 million dollar man they may want to stick with Kalil. By the draft value chart we will need to make up 850 points to move from #9 to #3.
freaking Starks...saved the day, just watch

Might have. That was epic!

Crowder was fairly good early in his career here but not later on.

wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
Patrick Turner injured... LOL
was a wasted pick. Of course, it would be a bad idea to trade those picks to get a QB, because we need to draft more Pat Turners.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
We need those draft picks to acquire more Pat White's.
Briceratops - January 1, 2012
Absolutely

why throw 5 yards short?
Kdog92 - January 1, 2012
Why?.. just why Moore?
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
Because he's the long term answer at QB... it's obvious to everyone else
(obvious sarcasm)
The Earl - January 1, 2012
throwing a 0 yard pattern for a first down
that’s how you convert first downs.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Why even have Marshall run that route? Terrible call and execution
Moore looks like he doesnt want to throw another pick…
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012

Moore has to throw short cause when he goes long he gets intercepted.

Why was Marshall running a crossing pattern 5 yrds short of the first down?

not trade the farm, but spend big in free agency.

How did dan the man fall to us late in the first rd.?
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
Rumors of being a cokeheaded primadonna
dolphinfan4lyfe - January 1, 2012 via mobile
so Miami wood be the logical spot!
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
we need 3 step drops, not 7-10,especially at end zone...
zero13 - January 1, 2012
bess, nice one
daytonadolfan - January 1, 2012
how much cap space do we have in FA?
SuperDave75 - January 1, 2012
dont know. but we need to upgrade thru free agency.
texphinphan - January 1, 2012
Not much unless we get rid of some.
PotM - January 1, 2012
who then?
SuperDave75 - January 1, 2012
Marshall's cap space goes up from 5 to 10, so either we get rid of him or we get rid of someone ese so we can keep him
PotM - January 1, 2012
Or rework his numbers.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
I don't think he will do that.
PotM - January 1, 2012
And you base this belief on what? Teams do it all the time.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
I don't think Marshall is the type of guy and he isn't on the end of his career.
PotM - January 1, 2012
What type of guy? The type of guy to move some money around to help his team?
Those deals do not normally hurt the player financially. They are only used to lessen the cap hit.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
exactly. will he do it though? always marshall trade talk, etc, but who else can we actually trade and release money for?
SuperDave75 - January 1, 2012
i mean the franchise tag wont be the same guy next year surely?
SuperDave75 - January 1, 2012
They can use it a second time but if you use it twice it counts 120% of the previous number
which would put us at 14.4 mil for Starks. Not going to happen.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
thought starks signed a 5yr deal though?
SuperDave75 - January 1, 2012
No.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
ok my bad then. so next yr our franchise player should be.............
SuperDave75 - January 1, 2012
I don't know. The overall franchise tag numbers are going down so it might
actually save us some money on a player.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
I would think he would. I have never heard of a player not adjusting money so long as it does
not affect their bottom line.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
Depends if the money can be moved around to make it less and that is enough.
PotM - January 1, 2012
It happens all the time and it can be done with any contract. Is one contract enough?
Not but there are several moves you can make if you have cap trouble.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
Or sign cheaper positions like OG and OT in free agency
and use the draft to go after higher impact positions. Instead of the other way around.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Like a 12 million franchise tag?
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
lol
texphinphan - January 1, 2012
To be replaced by a 10 million dollar contract?
PotM - January 1, 2012
No. I would not sign him long term to that. Maybe 8.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
if we dont resign soliai, Colombo, and Carey
we have about 28 million. Put the draft in and we’re at around 24 million
Va FinFan - January 1, 2012
colombo can go, as far as im concerned.
texphinphan - January 1, 2012
Carey can too if there is a better lineman out there we can sign.
Briceratops - January 1, 2012
Carey can go.
PotM - January 1, 2012
AND we don't waste any money on free agent backup QBs
The Earl - January 1, 2012
24 million is plenty enough when we need to spend like 22 million.
PotM - January 1, 2012
Jared Allen
Jared has 2 sacks already today for 20. He might break Strahan’s record today.
miamimike71 - January 1, 2012
Moore is good with momentum and before any team has scored but when their down
his is usually terrible
AussiePhinfan - January 1, 2012
Hence he is throwing to Fasano
PotM - January 1, 2012
New orleans up two TDs can we trade a defensive player or two for the #1 pick!
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
wood like an answer to this Q.
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
Where has that been all season
Didn’t he finish second in 3rd down catches for 1st av season or 2 ago?
NawlinsPhinFan - January 1, 2012
Quick question
can we pass Jax in the draft if they win and we lose? We would both be 5-11
Va FinFan - January 1, 2012
I believe so.
PotM - January 1, 2012
not richie , jeezzzz
daytonadolfan - January 1, 2012
no, not my richie!!!!!!!!!!!!
scene out of la bamba movie.
texphinphan - January 1, 2012
I've seen enough of Thomas.. put Slaton in
He is just running right into LB’s
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
We traded up for Thomas... think about that
The Earl - January 1, 2012
He was good early in the season for like two games...
Briceratops - January 1, 2012
He is an injury concern. Strange, the scat back is the durabe one and the 230 pound beast is the fragie one.
PotM - January 1, 2012
He had many questions coming into the draft
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Like can he catch out of the backfield and break off long runs. Not stay healthy.
PotM - January 1, 2012
Yeah, but we traded up for a questionable prospect
We could have drafted Kendall Hunter who would have been so much better than Thomas. Hilliard could have been the power back (he wouldn’t have been worse than Thomas).
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Then we needed to get a FB in FA.
PotM - January 1, 2012
We don't need a FB
Hilliard is good enough at FB.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Then who would be the power back?
PotM - January 1, 2012
Hilliard can do both
we don’t need to run power-I sets all the time. We need to move into the 21st century.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Perhaps he will be more durable next season with a full training camp?
Briceratops - January 1, 2012
That coud help since he has strained a lot of muscles.
PotM - January 1, 2012
I am seeing MASSIVE cut back lanes and Thomas isnt hitting any of them
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
We could have got
A back with the skills Thomas has in the 6th round or udfa
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
Exactly
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Mhmm
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
I see we're both on Irelands ass for that pick
LaGarrette Blount and James Starks are 2 examples of players you get with Thomas skills for cheap instead of paying up
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
I'm not really a fan of drafting a running back high up in the draft
They have such a short shelf life and that really is one position that you can find impact talent late in the draft.
Briceratops - January 1, 2012
Looks like Indy is getting the #1 overall pick
The Earl - January 1, 2012
13 more years of Indy having a great QB?
PotM - January 1, 2012
Yes... and the "bad fans" won't remember this season with anything but fond memories
because they got Luck. Us? We’ll be looking back at all those games we won that got us a new RT and more 7-9 seasons. LOL… just wonderful.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Marshall almost lost the first down.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
He came back 3 yds & only got one back on his own!
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
Never run backwards
PotM - January 1, 2012
Marshall is gonna tear up his knee.....
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
LETS GO DOLPHINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
texphinphan - January 1, 2012
The whole , thomas up the middle thing is not working !
daytonadolfan - January 1, 2012
I'm tired of these checkdown passes at the LOS
Va FinFan - January 1, 2012
Our offensive line is terrible without long. There are people that are thinking of trading him?
Rytackle - January 1, 2012
Except we have only yielded one sack and that was Moore's fault
and it’s not their fault Thomas can’t see the running lanes.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Huh? Are we watching the same game?
ct1361 - January 1, 2012
THERE YOU GO
Va FinFan - January 1, 2012
marshall!
texphinphan - January 1, 2012
nice one
daytonadolfan - January 1, 2012
the only thing that really irks me about ireland is the fact he did not trade soleai before the deadline
i dont see enough reason to ink him to a huge contract when he is not an elite NT. we are just going to lose him in FA at the end of the season and will have another reason to use our 1st round pick on something other than luck or RG3
FishNFinz - January 1, 2012
Its near impossible to trade a franchised player.. What team has an extra 10 million open in their cap when the season starts
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
should have never franchised
FishNFinz - January 1, 2012
I would rather sign Avril than sign Soliai
Switch to a 4-3
Va FinFan - January 1, 2012
The most we would have gotten was a 1st, which would have been used on Alameda Ta'amu
PotM - January 1, 2012
Oh and his agent is a dick
hes the agent of Sean Smith and Soliai and thinks Smith should be paid like a top 3 CB in the league
Va FinFan - January 1, 2012
i hear pat white is looking for a job cheap
dolfan52 - January 1, 2012
I hear he plays like Betty White.
Briceratops - January 1, 2012
Betty White>Pat White
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
and it's not even close
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Especially after she eats a Snickers
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
Holding a viking shield & a spade!
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
But he added a whole other dimension to our offense....
Briceratops - January 1, 2012
if we don't score...something is wrong
Kdog92 - January 1, 2012
you said it!
texphinphan - January 1, 2012
We need a TD
Put us in the lead instead of behind 1
Va FinFan - January 1, 2012
LETS GO DOLPHINS!
texphinphan - January 1, 2012
booommm
allstar5449 - January 1, 2012
wooooo hooooooooooo way to go bess
daytonadolfan - January 1, 2012
Don't worry Bess... one day you'll get a QB that can hit you in stride
The Earl - January 1, 2012
If thats a better throw.. Touchdown
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
if that wasn"t behind bess that would have been a TD
Kdog92 - January 1, 2012
betterthrow that wudda been a td
Davone_Is_BessT - January 1, 2012
A better QB and that is a TD. That is if Bess gets the YAC
PotM - January 1, 2012
Bess could have crawled in if the pass wasn't too low and behind him
I don’t think he’s ever caught a pass in stride since he’s been here.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
That is a lie and you know it.
PotM - January 1, 2012
I really can't recall a time when he caught a crossing route like that
where he didn’t have to jump, reach, stretch, or otherwise adjust to a poorly thrown ball. That happens when you get QBs that have ball placement issues.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
The TD on the slant route against the Bils. And I haven't really been watching this year
PotM - January 1, 2012
Ok... that's the first
The Earl - January 1, 2012
that shoulda been a td!
bess is always falling down. nice cathch tho
texphinphan - January 1, 2012
behind him
Va FinFan - January 1, 2012
It was behind him, but yes, Bess tends to fall down and not get YAC.
PotM - January 1, 2012
LOW and behind.. incredible catch
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
on the run too
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
20 plays beat that deline up!
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
sweet drive right here
lets finish it now!
Birdle - January 1, 2012
Pouncey slipped.
PotM - January 1, 2012
that and Thomas sucks
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Jump Thomas... Doubt he's here next year with the new coaches
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
touchdown!
texphinphan - January 1, 2012
Gdamn our power back
Cannot even get 1 yard. And this has been happening ALL year on shirt yardage situations
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
clay baby !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
daytonadolfan - January 1, 2012
Nice catch by Clay
The Earl - January 1, 2012
on a ball that was behind him
The Earl - January 1, 2012
thats Moore's modus operandi today
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
I will say that throwing on the run like that can be tough
so I won’t call out Moore too much for that. He had 2 defenders chasing him and he made a play.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
TD!!!
allstar5449 - January 1, 2012
TOUCHDOWN!!!
Jtpdolphins2009 - January 1, 2012
wow that was lucky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
Rytackle - January 1, 2012
WHAT A PLAY CALL
NICE JOB MOORE
Va FinFan - January 1, 2012
better catch by Clay
but Moore did a good job of buying time.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Nice drive by Moore
And decent finish considering he was running for his life
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
12:25 second drive and a TD to cap it
awesome
Birdle - January 1, 2012
where were these types of drives where we lost leads in the 4th qtr?
texphinphan - January 1, 2012
21 plays on that drive
The Earl - January 1, 2012
that wasn't pretty...bout I'll take it
Kdog92 - January 1, 2012
Matt Moore=franchise QB!Briceratops - January 1, 2012
whew
dolfan52 - January 1, 2012
Matt Moore has heart
I’ll give him that. Great effort.
Davone_Is_BessT - January 1, 2012
sweet only the next QB is gonna be in heaven!
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
hard -earned!!
zero13 - January 1, 2012
I love 12-minute TD drives
DrJay32 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
David Akers just threw a touchdown.
Let’s sign him up to be our new QB.
Briceratops - January 1, 2012
I don't love time of posision 44.38 & a loss but this is todol happyness!
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
BEST THING THAT WOULD HAPPEN TO US IS
IF we win this game and the Titans, Raiders, Broncos, and Bengals lose, meaning all the Jets had to do was WIN against us and they were in the playoffs.
Va FinFan - January 1, 2012
Ok that was a great touchdown grab and throw
but that was the stupidest play call of all time
Gamer2102 - January 1, 2012
dan henning level
stuff mang
Gamer2102 - January 1, 2012
How could you even possibly know that? (in the voice of Kip Dynomite)
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
at this point , I'll take ugly over losing to the jests all day long
daytonadolfan - January 1, 2012
Patriots 28 unanswered points.
I’m sure we could come back from 17 and 21 points down like that. Or not
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
I hate that team so much.
Briceratops - January 1, 2012
LETS GO DEFENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
texphinphan - January 1, 2012
Hmm our offense works when it isnt throwing to Hartline or Fasano? Is there some sort of connection here???
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
if we stop this drive early here
the jets D is going to be dead on their feet
Birdle - January 1, 2012
perfect!!
zero13 - January 1, 2012
that was the longest drive in franchise history in terms of plays and game time
The Earl - January 1, 2012
DEFENSE CANNOT COLLAPSE
Rytackle - January 1, 2012
LETS GO DEFENSE!
texphinphan - January 1, 2012
We need a stop!
PotM - January 1, 2012
Let's go D!
Dolfan88 - January 1, 2012
STARKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKSS
Rytackle - January 1, 2012
JT
Thankyou once again
Birdle - January 1, 2012
Starks fell down.
PotM - January 1, 2012
that was too funny... he was going to score too
The Earl - January 1, 2012
If he could get a block.
PotM - January 1, 2012
HELL YEAH!
texphinphan - January 1, 2012
JT!!!
Jtpdolphins2009 - January 1, 2012
ROFL!
Kdog92 - January 1, 2012

Gamer2102 - January 1, 2012
yessssssssssssssssssss ! JT BABY
daytonadolfan - January 1, 2012
Wow!
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
Jason Taylor!!!
DrJay32 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Lol, Jets might trade up for a QB too so we better get moving
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
They could probably trick
The Browns into swapping Sanchez and 1sts.
Farorefox - January 1, 2012 via mobile
LOL... Taylor with pressure, Starks with the pick and the fall... TOO funny
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Someone tackle me someone tackle me.. oh hell I’m fallin down. -Starks
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
LOLOL.. rec'd
The Earl - January 1, 2012
JASONNNNN TAYYLOORRRRRRRR
Rytackle - January 1, 2012
Thank you JT. You deserve a win!
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Sanchez really isn't very good
Birdle - January 1, 2012
2 Picks for Starks today!!!!!!! LOL
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
He's tied with Smith I think... LOL
The Earl - January 1, 2012
but Smith is a top 3 CB
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
The first time a Dolphins defender did that since, probably since Madison and Surtain were in town.
PotM - January 1, 2012
holy crap..thats plain TITS!!!
zero13 - January 1, 2012
Nipples big & hard!
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
Now if Moore can muster up a TD, we can almost seal it up.
PotM - January 1, 2012
Get a bucket of water & throw it on Taylor!
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
Starks needs another half hour to recover after that run
Rytackle - January 1, 2012
LMFAO phillip merling/brett favre all over again
LOVE IT
Davone_Is_BessT - January 1, 2012
WE FOUND OUR NEW #1 WR!!!!!
Va FinFan - January 1, 2012
lmao hey he's got good hands lol
daytonadolfan - January 1, 2012
LOL... Cromartie would just run to the locker room to change his panties if he saw Starks running at him
The Earl - January 1, 2012
And Orlovsky fumbles in Jaguar territory.
SMFH
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
we can just give up on that
The Earl - January 1, 2012
2 INT's by Starks
Defensive player of the week?
NawlinsPhinFan - January 1, 2012
The only negative thing on that is JT doesn't get a sack!
JT was always Mr. 4th quarter, seems l;ike his biggest plays always came in the 4th
Agent J 78 - January 1, 2012
LETS GO OFFENSE!
WE NEED A TD!
texphinphan - January 1, 2012
all i can say is momentum shift
dolfan52 - January 1, 2012
Happened in the 2 minute drill
PotM - January 1, 2012
And then we have the dud Daniel Thomas
Va FinFan - January 1, 2012
Yes Thomas run into the backs of your line.. Get him out of the game for gods sake
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
2 sacks by the same Defensive Tackle!!`
Dont think Ive ever seen that before
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
Change sack to INT's
NawlinsPhinFan - January 1, 2012
Yeah thats whta I meant
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
bess is gon!
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
owwwwwwwwwwwwww not besssssssss
daytonadolfan - January 1, 2012
way to tackle like a linebacker scott
Birdle - January 1, 2012
He avoided the helmet to helmet call though.
PotM - January 1, 2012
How about you just wrap him up amybe.. We need to take Scott out now
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
y!
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
CAN'T WAIT... for someone to end his career in the most humiliating way possible
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Possible knee injury for Bess
The Earl - January 1, 2012
I think it may be a head
Kdog92 - January 1, 2012
got hit in the knee
The Earl - January 1, 2012
I know that
landed pretty hard on his head though
Kdog92 - January 1, 2012
Fell on head.
PotM - January 1, 2012
Too bad we can't let defenders play ball.
PotM - January 1, 2012
not bess...we need him
Kdog92 - January 1, 2012
Bess out.
PotM - January 1, 2012
That is some cheap SHIT right there!
Scott went after the knee of a guy he outweighs by 5o lbs
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
It's Bart Scott does it surprise you
He’s a classless PoS
Agent J 78 - January 1, 2012
I wanted starks to run that for a td.
but ill take it anyway.
texphinphan - January 1, 2012
Moore did just get Bess killed too
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
thats not really moore's fault
thats a cheap shot though
Gamer2102 - January 1, 2012
If moore leads him, Bess might have been able to protect himself.
ct1361 - January 1, 2012
JT the Jet killer
Stats407 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Glad we have a great memory of JT
in his last game before he retires. Canton bound for sure!
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
Julius Pruitt time
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Gates times
Kdog92 - January 1, 2012
Marshall almost had a TD
The Earl - January 1, 2012
good coverage by Revis on that one
The Earl - January 1, 2012
oh oh...Jordan Rule
Kdog92 - January 1, 2012
It would be nice to have a #1 that can go up against good CBs and get the TD.
PotM - January 1, 2012
Revis is the best in the league. And held him
Rytackle - January 1, 2012
Didn't hold him that time. Fought for the ball.
Also, the weakness of Revis is that he can be overpowered by strong WRs if they have enough speed (so Revis can’t just catch up). This is why Steve Smith gives Revis problems.
PotM - January 1, 2012
Hard to catch when you have 1 arm
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
Last time I checked Marshall has done more against Revis then most so your comment is without merit.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
Itwould be nice to have a WR that can out jump people.
PotM - January 1, 2012
His hand was also CLEARLY held so................
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
correct
SuperDave75 - January 1, 2012
Revis held Marshall'
Davone_Is_BessT - January 1, 2012
s right hand
Davone_Is_BessT - January 1, 2012
That was just tight coverage.
PotM - January 1, 2012
hell no
clear pass interference
Davone_Is_BessT - January 1, 2012
Revis holds on every play, does it surprise you?
Agent J 78 - January 1, 2012
corner 101
hold right hand
stay revis bro
Gamer2102 - January 1, 2012
a fg wont be enough,
we needed a td there.
texphinphan - January 1, 2012
If we let NY get a TD we will still have time enough for a GW FG... probably
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
i cant help but feel like the jests are going to get a crappy call in their favor,
setting them up for a potetial td.
texphinphan - January 1, 2012
game is ours to lose
dolfan52 - January 1, 2012
fist pump !! tony's ghost is still here
daytonadolfan - January 1, 2012
We were robed!
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
THANK YOU OMAR!!!
One day Bess, you’ll get a QB that can CONSISTENTLY hit you in stride.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
That day better be draft day 2012
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
yeah
but that was a really cheap shot by scott
he’s like 50 pounds stronger than bess no need for a leg shot
Gamer2102 - January 1, 2012
Oh I agree, but it has been an issue over the past few years
The Earl - January 1, 2012
It is an issue with Henne too
ct1361 - January 1, 2012
Can we stop talking about Henne? He is all but gone.....
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
Exactly right by Omar. If Moore leads Bess, he might have been able to protect himself.
ct1361 - January 1, 2012
I want revis and luck thats all
dolfan52 - January 1, 2012
F rives
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
Injury update:
hope it’s not serious.
The Earl - January 1, 2012

Any fist-pumps yet?
Farorefox - January 1, 2012 via mobile

PotM - January 1, 2012

daytonadolfan - January 1, 2012

Davone_Is_BessT - January 1, 2012
WAKE IS BEING HELD ON EVERYPLAY!
fucking refs dont call it.
texphinphan - January 1, 2012
what terrible coverage by Jones
The Earl - January 1, 2012
he hesitated on the play
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Nolan called the CB blitz
PotM - January 1, 2012
Jones was supposed to get over there, but it looked like he hesitated
The Earl - January 1, 2012
If he didn't set up, he could be juked and it might have been a TD (al out blitz)
PotM - January 1, 2012
we need a turnover quick!
texphinphan - January 1, 2012
come on JT one more sack!
Kdog92 - January 1, 2012
this is taking forever... we arent getting the ball back
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
LETS GO DEFENSE!
texphinphan - January 1, 2012

Davone_Is_BessT - January 1, 2012

crappy calls in their favor!
texphinphan - January 1, 2012
That's called on anybody.
You can’t touch the QB’s head.
Briceratops - January 1, 2012
Bell is an idiot.. DRILL HIM IN THE CHEST
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
Don't hurt sanchez.. they might have to put in a real QB
The Earl - January 1, 2012
That changed the momentum
PotM - January 1, 2012
WORST CALL EVER DIDNT EVEN HIT HIM
Rytackle - January 1, 2012
Right call, lousy rule
TD Colts. TLTL of course
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
Exactly.
PotM - January 1, 2012

wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
LETS GO DEFENSE!
texphinphan - January 1, 2012
These anouncers suck jests ass.
Dolfan88 - January 1, 2012
We are going to miss Dansby now.
PotM - January 1, 2012
More injury info
Yes, it’s a meaningless game, so don’t start with this “A win is a win” mess.
Secondly, this is bad for Bess.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
damn
Davone_Is_BessT - January 1, 2012
WR just became a huge need in the draft. We already needed a #2 and a TE. Maybe free agency
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
Brian Quick...
my fanpost pimping him will be up about combine time. LOL
The Earl - January 1, 2012
great throw right there

phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012

Kdog92 - January 1, 2012
they are surviving on the Ryan's fat reserves
The Earl - January 1, 2012
They have
To do the mythic 3 pt conversion. I think you have do a Renowned Jump pass to yourself while facing the other end zone against 12 defenders.

The Earl - January 1, 2012
At least Sanchez doesn't have Long running at him today.
PotM - January 1, 2012

texphinphan - January 1, 2012

The Earl - January 1, 2012
42 straight pts for the Patriots after scoring 27 in a row on us last week
(sigh..) I hope we can have a QB help us do that next season
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
Did the Bills pack it in against that NE defense?
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
The NE defense played well in the s2nd half, saw an INT anyway
LOL and just as i type it, they throw another pick 6… 49-21
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
59 million just doesn't buy what it used to

The Earl - January 1, 2012
I think we know how this will end...
JT will get a INT at the 1 and return it 99 yards. That is only fitting.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
The funny thing is the Rams beat the SAINTS. 2 wins but one against NO
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
Tackle IN BOUNDS... idiots

MassFinFan65 - January 1, 2012
Smith got so twisted up there
The Earl - January 1, 2012
That's was the coverage. Smith was expecting the OLB to be underneath.
ct1361 - January 1, 2012
and he turns insider instead of outside
he needs to be upgraded
The Earl - January 1, 2012
*inside
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Smith is the least of this defenses issues.
ct1361 - January 1, 2012
Smith has deep coverage on cover 3. It was a comeback route, the weakness of a cover 3.
PotM - January 1, 2012
Nice to see Taylor go out with
A WIN!
MassFinFan65 - January 1, 2012

Jtpdolphins2009 - January 1, 2012
They should have JT knee it down
southfloridamammalsfan - January 1, 2012
Too much of a fumble risk. But he was on the field, in the HB position.
discuit - January 1, 2012
Glad we got the win for JT. Guy deserved more for giving us so much during this career.
senelcoolidge - January 1, 2012

Rytackle - January 1, 2012
Moore gives JT the game ball... I'm crying now
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Why are there tears in my eyes?
Kdog92 - January 1, 2012
classy to let jt be in on the last kneel down
daytonadolfan - January 1, 2012
To all the SFLers
Don’t this win fell good?
NawlinsPhinFan - January 1, 2012
I'm not a SFL person, but this win doesn't feel that bad
the others will feel better if we get a QB.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
The loss would help us more but damn even I cant stand seeing us lose to the Jests
F it I’m happy
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
This win is good... we crush the hopes of the jets, sent JT out with a win, and we were still gonna have to trade up anyway
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Earl this win is about.
No offense but forget the Jets. The Titans have the Texans in huge trouble so a win or a loss here ultimately wont decide the Jets fate (and probably still won’t even if some miraculous happens to conclude that game). This is about us.
civwarbuff - January 1, 2012
Still, just about everything about this win is good
The Earl - January 1, 2012
I hear you :)
Is it embarrasing that I’m teary eyed? I am. Not just for JT, but this season has been a emotional year. As fans we put alot of energy and compassion into this sport and into this team. Of all the emotions I went through this season, I went through them all in the last 3 hours.
And Im happy for JT.
civwarbuff - January 1, 2012
anyone else getting some tears?
Kdog92 - January 1, 2012
I guess a little bit
When Moore handed him the ball and a bunch of Jets guys came up to shake his hand.

the new Bradfather - January 1, 2012

PotM - January 1, 2012

The Earl - January 1, 2012
Oh it effin bettah!
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
WHOHOO!
PotM - January 1, 2012
impossible
Bills lost, I think we pass them, plus you have St Louis, Indianapolis, Cleveland and Carolina
Jtpdolphins2009 - January 1, 2012
My implication is that we will trade up
The Earl - January 1, 2012
With the 3rd pick, Miami takes..
RG3 of course.
Farorefox - January 1, 2012 via mobile
We are going to trade with the....?
PotM - January 1, 2012
9th pick and whatever else we can throw together

Farorefox - January 1, 2012 via mobile
We stay in front of them I think.

texascowpunk - January 1, 2012

FishNFinz - January 1, 2012
Yeah that's what I was thinking
time to root for the teams Jets needed to win!
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
exactly... salt in the wound
The Earl - January 1, 2012
The Totans held on.
civwarbuff - January 1, 2012
I wonder what a Totan is ?????
obviuosly I meant the Titans.
civwarbuff - January 1, 2012
hahahaha
senelcoolidge - January 1, 2012
It's over for the Jest
Cinny’s is 9-6. Worst they can finish is 9-7 one game better then the Jest.
NawlinsPhinFan - January 1, 2012
To get in the Jets needed to win in Miami
they needed the Titans to lose to the Texans, The Bengals to lose to the Ravens and the Raiders to lose to the Chargers.
civwarbuff - January 1, 2012
Right
8-8 want do it.
NawlinsPhinFan - January 1, 2012
This means we are 3rd in the division right?
Gamer2102 - January 1, 2012
yes
Jtpdolphins2009 - January 1, 2012
yes sir
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
Better than 4th
PotM - January 1, 2012
with the Bills loss we are third in the division
which means that the seed games next season change. We no longer will play Cleveland and Kansas City. Instead we will play the Bengals and the Chargers.
civwarbuff - January 1, 2012
Oh, come on!
PotM - January 1, 2012
And then obviosuly the NFC West and the AFC South.
And hey. Every club in this league is a huge challenge. It is what it is.
civwarbuff - January 1, 2012
Easy enough to win
Tough enough to keep sharp. Good schedule.

True that to whomever posted that Earl.
JT was to us what Bruce Smith was to the Bills. Gonna be hard to fill in the void he will leave once he walks off into the sunset.
fin4three5yrs - January 1, 2012

daytonadolfan - January 1, 2012

Either by draft or FA.

I am with you. He has done NOTHING as an assistant. Talk about a guy living off of his name.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
The only thing he’s got going for him is that he’s kinda funny lookin’ in a good way.
discuit - January 1, 2012
Hes got nothing but a big mouth. That quality he did get from his old man.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
Ugh.. Buddy Ryan. See what happens when stupid people are allowed to breed!
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
I know. Or in his case the soulless spawn of Lucifer.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
watch the Broncos/Chiefs game and you'll cover B and C at the same time... LOL
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Got a point, Duke.
fin4three5yrs - January 1, 2012
B man, last week of full slate football and to root on Orton and the Giants.
fin4three5yrs - January 1, 2012
thats true.. time to eat, drink and be lazy
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
Gonna go eat some cabbage rolls and black-eyed peas.
Dolfan88 - January 1, 2012
I had my black eyed peas with some jalapenos and onions. They were delicious.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
I put smoked ham, onions, garlic and pepper in mine.
Wife won’t lit me put in jalapenos, so I’ll add some to my bowl.
Dolfan88 - January 1, 2012
Nice. Yeah mine also had tomatoes and of course lots of pepper and hot sauce but I put those on everything.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
Oh great Santonio Holmes coming to the podium, hope they televise it
Should be intristin
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
he's going to "wake and bake"... LOL
The Earl - January 1, 2012
judging by how things went today
He’s probably not going to get much of a reception.
nickzi - January 1, 2012
LOL... well played
this gets a rec for wittiness.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
i cant really blame him.. he was targeted once today and it was uncatchable
if he’s their #1 Wr that cant happen
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
Yelp, shame on Sanchez.
fin4three5yrs - January 1, 2012
If that happened here Marshall would have his wife stab Matt Moore
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
oh i just got that LOL
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
LOL!!!!!
fin4three5yrs - January 1, 2012
Just saw this from Bess's twitter:
let’s hope that means the injury isn’t serious.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
I hope so... looked real bad though
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
so guys, i was on my way home from the smoky mtns, and i couldnt watch the game
I didn’t have internet either so I couldn’t follow the game. How was it? Anything interesting?
AnishB15 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
We won, Bess was injured, Jerry didn't yield a sack, Moore was inconsistent but made a play when he needed to
Marvin Mitchell had an INT and Randy Starks had TWO INTs and a sack (yes, that happened).
The Earl - January 1, 2012
holy shit, nice job by jerry, mitchell and especially starks
Poor bess, hope he gets better. Do you think our 1st, starks and next years 2nd is enough to trade up for RGIII?
AnishB15 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
I don't know...
It’ll be next week before I get into full draft mode. But that sounds about right.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Same old same old Dolphins football.. We laughed, (Sanchez int.'s) we cried (JT's last game) we yelled at the TV (Moore's int's) and almost had a coronary (had to get an onside kick to win it)
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
Nice sammary
The Earl - January 1, 2012
works
Moore needs to be more consistant. I still think he should start next year while RGIII gets acclimated to the NFL.
AnishB15 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
You didnt see todays game
Moore was throwing behind his WR’s all game and is the main reason Bess got hurt. he led him into a big hit
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
wow, that bad?
At least that may shut up the moorino posts. Moore should start, but should have a very short leash.
AnishB15 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
the jets had good coverage for the most part
but Moore’s passes today were all over the place.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
They was, but decent management and no TOs sufficed.
fin4three5yrs - January 1, 2012
Yeah, we owned the Jets without missing a beat.
Without Dansby, Long, and Bush, I’d say we shocked and awed. BTW Mitchell, our replacement for Dansby came up with a big INT in the red zone on a 4th qtr crunch drive.
fin4three5yrs - January 1, 2012
nice, mitchell looks good
AnishB15 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
He's a good backup
The Earl - January 1, 2012
He's better than Crowder by any means
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
Yes. I've missed Scott.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
This GB-DET game is very interesting
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Interesting to see the Lions right there with them. Maybe they are for real.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
They are Tex
The hunger they will have once the playoffs begins will make them scary.
fin4three5yrs - January 1, 2012
You know what? Good for them and the Lions fans. They have a loyal fan base and they deserve it!
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
Ditto.
fin4three5yrs - January 1, 2012
Oh and thats whith Rodgers on the bench. Here comes the damn Flynn posts!
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
Flynn will be a Washington Redskin next year
I just don’t see Indy getting rid of Manning. And if they do, he won’t go there.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
I think that the Redskins are the team that will sell their soul and their first born to get Luck.
If not I can see them making a deal for Manning.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
Manning has to play somewhere
Oh jeez what if its in Houston.. that would be scary
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
It wont be Houston. Their QB will be back. It will be Miami or some other team that needs a QB.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
flynn goes to seattle (who will draft tannehill) and gives tannehill time
I think the skins take henne to compete with landry jones.
AnishB15 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Sounds about right, but I think the Jets join in on the fray.
fin4three5yrs - January 1, 2012
i see them drafting brandon weeden to compete with snachez
AnishB15 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Yup that's what I'm fearing
Well I could care less about the posts, I just hope that isn’t our FO’s big QB plan going into the offseason
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
So do I, man
Think Moore has proven he is next years starter with a young QB waiting to take the reins.
fin4three5yrs - January 1, 2012
unless we somehow get Luck
doubtful now.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
hopefully the win gives our team a spark for a good start to next season if we
can finally start well we will have playoff hopes this time around
AussiePhinfan - January 1, 2012
At least we know we have playmakers on both sides of the ball.
fin4three5yrs - January 1, 2012
Yeesh, that Flynn pass looked rough
The Earl - January 1, 2012
as was that
The Earl - January 1, 2012
How many draft spots did we drop by winning?
Looking at the standings, could be at least 3-4 spots lower now =/.
goheat03 - January 1, 2012
Coming into this week, we couldn't go lower than 10 i think
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
omg did you see his foot?!
FishNFinz - January 1, 2012
Who? and I don't want to see it
The Earl - January 1, 2012
denvers OL cooper
FishNFinz - January 1, 2012
Chris Cooper.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
omg did you see his foot?!
FishNFinz - January 1, 2012
denver who just got hurt?
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
So when the Flynn posts start, are they going to talk about Detroit's turrible pass defense?
The Earl - January 1, 2012
his foot is on backwards, he was screamng get the cart!
FishNFinz - January 1, 2012
Poor guy.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
who???
AnishB15 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Chris Cooper.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
see question above
AnishB15 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
His leg was riped sideways!'
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
Tebow i think!
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
Rich Eisen says it best
The Earl - January 1, 2012
LOL Epic game that was!
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
It was the perfect game for those that hate defense.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
And Flynn has set the record in GB with 6 TDs, 480 yards
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Oh shit. Just another stat for the Flynn bandwagon, that is now loading up in some dark seedy alley someplace, to throw at us.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
It should be noted that the Lions have no pass defense
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Never mind that. Those are facts and they will interfere with the argument.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
From what I saw, he had several passes that looked really bad
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Still not going to sway the arguement I tell you.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
&73 Oline!
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
Interesting tweet from Bill Simmons:
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Hmmm. Based on the fact that he came in and ran the same offense just as well or better?
One thing he had done is he has just make himself a shit load more money!
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
Both QBs have thrown for over 1000 yards today
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Combined you mean?
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
yes
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Because a game with over 2000 yards of offense would be one for the ages.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
Thank you Jason for everything !!
DPHIN - January 1, 2012 via mobile
I wouldn't be opposed to signing Flynn if I knew in advance that we absolutely could not get Luck or Griffin
that’s impossible though.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
I'm afraid we'll go all out to sign Flynn to save giving up whatever it takes to trade. Ugh
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
I would be ok signing him and drafting Tannehill if we can not get Griffin. Luck is out of the question IMO.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
I don't think Luck is out of the question, but he just got more expensive
The Earl - January 1, 2012
This years & nextyears top 3 picks!
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
We have less to offer based on our position so he is out of the question.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
Decent game today.
MMANDIA - January 1, 2012
Bess has sprained MCL according to Jeff Darlington
The Earl - January 1, 2012
And now he can go home and rest and get well for next season.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
Ckc tonite!
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
Sure. If your up to it that is. I know your hurting a bit today.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
Hey, I might be able to make for a change, YEAH!
Dolfan88 - January 1, 2012
Nice!
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012

wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012

texascowpunk - January 1, 2012

wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012

zeusmith - January 1, 2012

texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
Hhaha

zeusmith - January 1, 2012

texascowpunk - January 1, 2012

wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
Gross:
The Earl - January 1, 2012
I guess he missed Joe Theismans bone sticking out of his leg.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
This is his followup tweet:
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Yeah thats not good. Hope its an injury he can come back from.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
Lets see a broken leg along with every tendon is his leg has been shredded... Doubt it
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
I'm surprised its not on youtube yet
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
Ah the first Matt Flynn Fanshot is up
The sad thing is, not everyone will just comment there. Some will feel the need to start 5 or 6 shots/posts of their own
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
lol, here we go.
Now there are TWO already! SMH whyy must people start their OWN topic when it has already been posted a half hour ago on the same page?!
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
I'm sticking with the mantra:
NO MORE BACKUPS!
The Earl - January 1, 2012
i'm sure alot of great BACKUPS could do that on a good day with the packers weapons
bring him here with only marshall moore might be better
AussiePhinfan - January 1, 2012
Ha I called it. This crowd is so predictable.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
Soon there will be full blow posts as well.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
No!
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
Oh yes. They are coming. Like an army of zombies they are unstoppable.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
lol
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
Unstopable Denvers running game!
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
"Like and unstoppable rebel force"
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
*an
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
TD Chiefs!!
Jtpdolphins2009 - January 1, 2012
Matt Flynn is the new Matt Cassel
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Have to have one every off season.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
And eventually one might actually pan out. Maybe. Actually Cassel does not suck but hes not top QB either.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
He is replaceable and that's not what we need at QB
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Well sure. Moore also does not suck but we all want something much better.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
Moore is a fantastic backup though
Could be the best backup in the NFL. I guess Flynn might be in the conversation after today. But he wont be a backup next year
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
Ughhhh
We’re going from Moore to Flynn for QBOTF. The thing I hate is that many people dont put things in perspective. 1 great game and people think X is the next coming or the answer to all our problems. Remember when Daniel Thomas ran for 100 yards? Ireland was a genius and we found our answer to Ronnie Brown’s void. People didnt stop to look how a good performance can be sustained.
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
Bunch of knee-jerk armchair QB's
From a large part of the community. I believe the proper term is LEMMINGS.
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
Yellow snow clusterF**k
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
When I pee in the snow it turns yellow
Coincidence?
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
Thats the particals i be talking about!
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
Haha Beav
You know, half the time I have NFI what you’re talking about. And that’s why I luv you man.
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
Exactly... they forget A.J. Feeley and all the other backups we've signed over the years
The Earl - January 1, 2012
The problem is reactionary people dont pay attention to the quality of the players
Anybody in the NFL can have a great game or three. But you have to do the scouting which reveals the underlying qualities which make players great. People are lazy and just judge based on performance and noting else. Thats why I’ve been ragging on Daniel Thomas since the beginning. There’s nothing special in his game which will lead to sustained greatness. No wiggle, speed or vision that I can see. Can he rush for 1000 yards? Sure, but thats doesnt man he’ll be great. If he gets 300 carries most NFL RB’s can.
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
I'm actually hoping he can get better though
Despite Reggie playing great down the stretch, I don’t WANT him to be an every down back necessarily. I want to use him in the open field more to make plays. I’m afraid they’ll kill him if he keeps pounding the ball
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
Well at least Cassel played a full year minus the first quarter of the 2008 season (if that)
I’ve seen Flynn in two games from what I recall
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
Tom Brady was knocked out of the Chiefs game on the second possession.
Halfway through the first quarter.
Just saying.
civwarbuff - January 1, 2012
Yeah thats why i said (if that)
I think there was 8 minutes left in the quarter.
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
were*
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
I think your almost exactly right.
civwarbuff - January 1, 2012
I didn't mean it as in yea but your off by "this" much
Thats why I said “Just saying”
civwarbuff - January 1, 2012
lol no i gotcha
All I’m implying is i can’t get too excited over one game from Flynn and jump after him. I think we should sit back and weigh all our options
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
I cannot understand why fans are so scared to draft a QB
we are already bad.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
and not a 3rd round bum either
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Personally if we can't get RG III or even Jones I'd rather not even draft one this year
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
Same here
I will cringe if we draft someone like Cousins or Foles in the third.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Heres the problem Earl.
I would not be surprised at all to see Landry Jones and Ryan Tannehill to both go in the top 15.
civwarbuff - January 1, 2012
There are only about 3 QBs worth the trouble this draft
Luck, Griffin, and maybe Jones. Everyone else are post first round material. And we don’t want that. And we also don’t want any more garbage from other teams. We need to do everything we can to secure Luck or Griffin.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Why half ass?
If we’re trading up, we might as well shoot for Luck. He’s just more sure thing.
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
Might want to change your sig.
PotM - January 1, 2012
It was a jab at Henne fans
The Earl - January 1, 2012
How did PotM not catch that?
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
Im right with you. As for Matt Flynn I can't even begin to consider him until I know exactly where we stand with Matt Moore.
Hence the work Ive been doing on him, analyzing every snap hes taken from under Center on my laptop and working on my offseason posts on his play game to game.
No other question on this team is more important, including the Head Coaching position IMO. We MUST understand exactly where we stand with Matt Moore.
civwarbuff - January 1, 2012
Flynn is easy... he's had one good game
Sirdolphin said it best in one of the fanshots:
The Earl - January 1, 2012
I blame Ct for throwing it out there in the first place.
civwarbuff - January 1, 2012
However Matt Flynn
has played very well in multiple starts.
civwarbuff - January 1, 2012
I look forward to your Moore evaluation posts
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
Ummm that was supposed to read if Moore* doesn’t pan out..and his* contract.. I really need to proof read more before clicking “Post”
Also correct me if I’m wrong about the Moore injury history but I’m sure someone posted that here somewhere
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
Ha fumble by Tebow.
texascowpunk - January 1, 2012
Yep
So who wins that division if both Broncos and Raiders lose?
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
The Broncos win if they both lose.
they currently hold the division lead.
civwarbuff - January 1, 2012
Ah ok thanks.
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
Rip the man when he's down he's already lost his tackel for life of the year
wild zion beaver - January 1, 2012
WOW....In the words of the great Jim Mandich... AAAAAALLLRIIIIIIGHHTTT MIAMIIIIII !!!!!!
I sure miss Mad Dog !
and ….Thank you JT for all the great years !!!!
Dolphinator - January 1, 2012
Ricky just passed 10,000 career rushing yards.
discuit - January 1, 2012
Also Happy New Year to everyone.
and thank you Mosul, Kmb, Leftcoast, Texas, Finhead and Alejandro for the work you guys do and the effort you put into this site. There’s a reason it is the best Miami Dolphins fan site on the web.
civwarbuff - January 1, 2012
Oh my word
42-0 2nd qtr?!?! Morris will be fired at halftime… That whole team should be. I hate when players don’t try
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
42-0 Atlanta I mean
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
Rahim Morris is DOA
Irrespective of this game. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s fired tomorrow after this debacle.
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
and they were a surprise 10-6 last season, to be fired a year later
and people say Sparano didn’t get enough time
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
That team is a mess
And they’re unwatchable.
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
More than anything its the way they have been losing.
After a 4-2 start they have lost 9 straight, 10 if they lose today which looks like it’s going to happen. They currently trail 42-to the Falcons. They lost to Carolina last week 48 to 16, to the Cowboys badly on National Televison, 41 to 14 at Everbank agains tthe Jags, 38 to 19 at home to the Panthers, and before two close losses to the Titans and a heartbreaker in Green Bay, the shallacking fro mthe Texans.
They also are not selling out.
civwarbuff - January 1, 2012
And dont forget that thrashing to SF
it was so bad Colin Kaepernick had a chance to play the whole 4thQ and almost threw a touchdown to Josh Morgan on the 1 yard line.
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
Yes.
That was during their 4-2 start though, but yea you are absolutely right.
civwarbuff - January 1, 2012
So now that the season is (finally) over, when does the HC search heat up?
After the playoffs I guess so everyone is available for interviews and such? I don’t think the Cowhers and Billicks will be available during their TV work
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
It's heating up now
The Earl - January 1, 2012
I'm still hoping for Cowher
As long as he has a genuine fire to still coach.
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
Same here
It was good to see SI predict that if he doesn’t go to the Giants. All they said though was “bet on Miami”.. I wish they had more legit reasoning
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
there is a car dealership in Cleveland that will give away free cars if the Browns shut out the Steelers
The Earl - January 1, 2012
And that dealership is quite relieved to see that FG
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
Ugh I hate when the local news comes on during halftime in the late games
Get off my screen, seriously
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
Three words: Red Zone Channel
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Ha Beaver made a comment around noon time today in the Live thread from last night
I’m sure it’ll get lost but it’s worth mentioning here. If the Colts had the #2 pick they would have taken Griffin.. I kinda am glad the Rams have #2 because I could actually see a new HC coming in and drafting Luck over Bradford. Most of the guarenteed money has been paid to him.. I don’t see them drafting Griffin over keeping Bradford though.
In a way, I’m kind of more hopeful the Rams will make a trade now that they won’t get Luck at all
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
This is awesome
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Too bad JT didn't go down at the 1 yard line prior to his "TD"
The Jets were out of timeouts and there were 2:30 left or so. It was only reviewable because of the score.
Agent J 78 - January 1, 2012
very true
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Hard to turn down a potential TD in your last game though. lol
Agent J 78 - January 1, 2012
Also true
The Earl - January 1, 2012
True
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
False!
*just being different
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
There's one in every crowd
Agent J 78 - January 1, 2012
It would be a little bush league though
Great moments should either happen naturally or not at all. I’ll never forget Ricky Davis (NBA) when he was playing for the Cavs a few years ago, grabbed a defensive rebound UNDER HIS OWN BASKET then took a shot AT HIS OWN BASKET in order to get another rebound for the Triple-Double. What a moron.
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
haha did it count

According to a Youtube comment:
Ricky Davis On March 16, 2003, In the closing seconds of a game against Utah, Davis was one rebound short of his first career triple-double. In an effort to record that rebound, Davis attempted to deliberately miss a shot at his team’s own basket, but was fouled by Utah’s DeShawn Stevenson before he could get the shot off.
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
it takes skill to FAIL at failing
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
haha lol
Ricky Davis was a known idiot
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
The look on Jerry Sloan's face is classic
Stunned squirrel
zeusmith - January 1, 2012
Not the same thing
I also remember (ok I don’t remember exactly who) but I think it was Chris Johnson go down at the 1 yard line when he had a for sure TD that the D gave him because it was the only way the team could get the ball back with even a chance.
Agent J 78 - January 1, 2012
Maurice Jones Drew did that against the Jets
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
and they were losing and had to make a FP to win
The Earl - January 1, 2012
That was it, I knew someone would remember
Agent J 78 - January 1, 2012
Thats different from what the JT situation would be
His team had to get the ball back.

I guarantee that show Rob willbe the worst god awful show ever
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
Earl I think you mentioned it before but what does the injury history of Moore look like?
Didn’t he finish multiple seasons on IR or something?
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
He finished last season on IR
but that’s the only one I know of.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Ok I checked it out, he also was placed on IR in 2008
Broke his fibula the last pre-season game and missed all of the ’08 season
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
Just so you all know I am eating these Lays Stax chips right now. I thought they were Pringles and grabbed em by mistake
This is quite the happy mistake. these things are WAAAaay better than Pringles. They’re thicker and crispier. I highly recommend them for your chip needs
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
I like Pringles Dill Pickle flavored chips
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Give these lays brand a try.. you shant be dissapoint
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
Oh and that sounds gross to me and I am big on pickles
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
They are actually good
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Well I'll try em then. If I dont like em I'm gonna bill ya
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
I had the Lays Dill Pickle chips, they were pretty tasty
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
Wow... Kyle Orton looks like a child molester under his helmet O_O
Souwantmyname - January 1, 2012
Sweet catch by Vincent Jackson
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Anyone know if SD is still in the mix for AFC West?
I know Denver has the edge over Oakland based on win percentage in common games but not sure about San Diego. They may all finish 8-8, 3-3 against division and 1-1 against each other.
Agent J 78 - January 1, 2012
no they're out of it
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
That's what I thought but wasn't sure
So it’s looking like Denver is in based on how SD is playing so far
Agent J 78 - January 1, 2012
Yep, they just said if OAK loses DEN wins the west no matter what. so another team without a winning record may win a division
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
According to this tweet, we draft 9th
The Earl - January 1, 2012
I was just in the process of writing this, lol
Agent J 78 - January 1, 2012
Carolina jumps ahead based on SoS
http://espn.go.com/nfl/standings/_/type/playoffs/sort/conferenceRank/order/false
Agent J 78 - January 1, 2012
I think it depends on the Giants-Cowboys game
but we aren’t really worried about them, other than making it more expensive to trade up.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
Hopefully 9th won't be too much of a drop off for the Rams or Vikings to trade with us
Btw, shouldn’t we trade as soon as we can? Instead of waiting till the actual draft, and just wait til the 3rd pick is up or so? We can’t take chances and wait too long.. We can work on a deal with the Rams as soon as the new league year starts in March right?
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
We'll need to wait until after FA
see how things shake out with other teams.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
ugh they better not sign a QB before the draft i will scream
I still think whatever happens with Manning can play a big part in this. Either he becomes available, or perhaps Luck asks to go elsewhere if Indy keeps Peyton
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
You know there will be rumors tieing Flynn with the Dolphins
There will be some Dolphin fans asking for it, I am sure.
Agent J 78 - January 1, 2012
Oh there already are
already 2 fanshots (well one is anti flynn but still)
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
Yeah!
Agent J 78 - January 1, 2012
Several feats in Dolphins history this season
First season with a 1000 yard rusher and 1000 yard receiver. Also first season with 3 defenders with over 100 tackles. We had the longest drive in team history and Matt Moore finished with the second highest passer rating in team history.
The Earl - January 1, 2012
So the Titans are in if the Raiders and Bengals lose?
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
What's the first tie breaker?
Cincinnati beat Tennessee in head-to-head.
Agent J 78 - January 1, 2012
Yeah Cincy is a win-and-in
So im guessing the Titans would be in unless if the Benglas clinched when the Jets lost, im not sure
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
So it looks like we will have to trade up with the Vikings to secure
RG3. St. Louis may be willing to trade out but considering they need to protect their 78 million dollar man they may want to stick with Kalil. By the draft value chart we will need to make up 850 points to move from #9 to #3.
Agent J 78 - January 1, 2012
Cool but I have no idea what those points are lol
What would take up 850?
phinsphan85 - January 1, 2012
Almost Tebow time
